A totally unique experience. The room is just by the canal, where you can sit and watch the boats and birds. The room is really well equipped with a really good bathroom/shower and good kitchenette. We spent time every afternoon/evening at our terrace, and even had a take away dinner there one evening. The host is fantastic and helped bring our super heavy bags for storage in his shop when we had a few hours to spend before leaving for the airport after checkout.

It was a little bit warm in the room during night, but there is a fan available so it still worked OK.

Very authentic experience to stay in the remodelled old warehouse cellar, just beneath the center of Utrecht. Literally you stay on the canal shore, and the canal is just 3 meter away from the door. Bringing out the chairs and cafe table from the room, and just enjoying the lively canal traffic, you can sit and wave to the various canal cruises, canoes and smaller boats, slowly passing, makes you feel like a true local :-) TIP: Remember to buy a bottle(s) of wine and some snacks, and you are all set. Location wise, It doesn't get any more central than this. Get up the stairs and you are in the middle of Utrecht, offering great beer bars, Michelling rate restaurant, Art galleries, boutique coffee houses. (However, a note about the stairs leading to room. They are quite steep and small. Not recommended for elderly or walking disability.)

We had a great time here. We loved being so close to everything and being right under some great restaurants and the Dom tower was amazing. The owner is the most lovely man. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for your stay.He comes and brings more coffee for your in room machine and brings you fresh towels every day. We were also early for our check in and had a late flight at check out and he allowed us to keep our bags at his souvenir shop right above where we were staying. Having a patio on the canal was unlike any other place we have stayed. Everything was very clean and modern and I would most definitely recommend this to anyone travelling to Utrecht.

The location couldn't have been more perfect. It was close to all the nicest restaurants and bars in town as well as being right on the canal. You get the evening sun outside the apartment, it was a really lovely spot to relax and unwind while watching all the boats go by. Our host was lovely and super helpful with where to leave our bikes and local recommendations. Would really suggest staying here if you want to be amongst all the best parts of Utrecht.

There's nothing we didn't like about this place. Location, host, cleanliness, cosiness were all perfect for us after a long cycle around Holland.

Really lovely stay in the heart of Utrecht. Lovely to be able to stay right by the canal and underneath the cathedral. Facilities were excellent- bathroom and cooking facilities were useful and well stocked. Hairdryer provided also had a diffuser!! We were sad to leave. Exceptional customer service from the hosts. Utrecht is such a wonderful city, perfect base to explore other cities/towns with an exceptional food scene.

Occasionally noisy with overhead noise from passersby, didn't detract from the stay. Nil that we didn't enjoy!

Unique accommodations in an excellent location. Comfortable bed, thoughtful details, modern bathroom, and nice privacy in such a central location. It was lovely to sit outside and watch the boats go by. Host was friendly and helpful to store our bags when we arrived in town before check in. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in Utrecht.

Steep stairs to get down to the room from street level would be tricky for guests with mobility limitations or larger luggage, but we were able to make it work just fine.

I have never stayed in such a unique place. And will probably never stay in something like this again. Perfect location. …..perfectly comfortable. ….perfectly perfect. It could not have been in a better location. The checkin was in the shop above. Nicholai was wonderful and kept our cases until the room was ready. John was so friendly bc and welcoming and helped us down with our luggage. amazing on place. loved it

the stairs going down to the canal from street level were a little wet and steep. not suitable for people with mobility issues but did not worry us ……added to the charm if the location . other reviewers mentioned street noise. we were not bothered. Considering we were at the crossroads of the main area it was very quiet.

Location was excellent and room was large with plenty of space. Was new and clean. Loved having a sitting area and dining table inside. Plus outdoor furniture with umbrella for outside on the canal. Was our favourite place to sit of an afternoon after a day of exploring. Can highly recommend staying here!

Checking in process was perhaps not clear. We even had another guest come to us thinking our room was the main office.

Very clean and comfortable. Great and efficient layout of the room. Wi-Fi works well. John the owner is very friendly and helpful. Very well situated, close to city attractions. The little terrace on the canal is great to have a drink before dinner or to read while enjoying the sun. You have to remember that the owner also operates the souvenirs shop on the street above the rooms and that is where you go to get your keys.

Location perfect for our stay. A ten minute or less walk from the train station. Apartment has almost everything you could need and in a unique setting. The bed and bedding are particularly comfortable-super soft sheets. Very helpful host- you need to go into the souvenir shop to check in.!! After we worked that out everything flowed very efficiently. Highly recommended.
