Gorgeous hotel in a charming neighbourhood! I was given the option of having breakfast served in the room or out on the balcony and I'm glad I decided on the balcony as it was lovely out there. The hotel is just as described and shown in photos but what truly blew me away was the service. Although I requested for a room in the main building (which they accommodated), I later realised that the noise from the street was a bit uncomfortable. The staff were more than happy to show me other rooms that were available and let me change rooms. In the middle of the night, I heard strange noises outside my door and rang up the reception to inform them. They went to check, and it turns out it was strong winds from outside. That simple act provided me with the comfort I needed to get a good night's sleep. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Extremely pleasant staff who were all very responsive to any request. Created a communal atmosphere with happy hour. Hotel is very small and one was able to socialize with other guests easily during this happy hour. Very generous with supplies in the room which were not charged for. Staff went out of the way to comply with my preferences.

There was not a lot of room for suitcases in our suite. While there was a suitcase trestle in the room there really wasn’t any place to set it up without obstructing traffic in some way. Not a lot of surface area for toiletries without moving stuff off of surfaces to make room. These pieces which were part of the decor or room amenities ended up in the closet which took up space for our things.

The room was nicely appointed having lots of nice details added in and had what we needed, the bed was amazingly comfy we loved it. The breakfast was incredible we felt very spoilt having this in bed. Our room was street level so no view but a quiet side street so it was fine and only for 1 night. The water and soft drinks in the minibar were great and just what we needed when we were there.

The room was much smaller than I expected as they look much bigger in the photos it hard to get air in with small window openings. The fridge is so small we couldn’t fit the wine bottle in. There was an iPad to use for service but it was not charged and didn’t seem to stay charged we were not given instructions on its use or how to use the heating so we couldn’t adjust the temperature. There is very limited light in the bathroom to do make up so that was difficult as we were going to an event. We weren’t told how to access our room at night and hoped when we got home could get around the side of the house, luckily we could . It would have been nice to get some more instructions.

Hotel Fitzroy is in a beautiful, historical-looking building in the lovely neighborhood of Ponsonby, Auckland. The room and adjoining bathroom were beautifully decorated and spotless. We appreciated the small touches that Hotel Fitzroy thought of including a small bottle of champagne in our fridge, free snacks, and a delicious, included breakfast. The breakfast! This was such a luxury and delicious - we chose to have ours out on the balcony in the morning and it started our day on the perfect foot. The A/C worked well to keep the room cool even on a very hot summer day. The staff was also very kind and accommodating. Location was 10/10, would definitely hope to return one day!

Μodern, fully equipped and well designed bedrooms paying attention to every detail. Fantastic style, boutique interior. Super kind & hospitable staff. Great breakfast with an option to choose the food and drinks. 24h reception desk.

Everything was perfect. The only comment I can add for a small improvement is that I would have preferred if the room had a desk/table, even if that was small. It would be easier to eat and use a laptop. The bedroom only had a coffee table, which is low height.

Situated in a lovely part of Auckland with masses of good restaurants to choose from in the area we found our room very well appointed and comfortable and did not miss a restaurant. Breakfast was served (as we chose) on the terrace and was all we could wish for. The staff were very friendly helpful and efficient particularly as I left something in the room which was promptly returned to me. (Thank you!)

We arrived early and the lack of a toilet other than the staff one was, I think, a design flaw, but the excellent staff were happy to share so no problem! I am that unusual person who likes a bath so the bathroom whilst beautiful and great for those who love to shower was not perfect for me.

Breakfast was delicious - loved that it was made fresh for each guest and delivered to the room by lovely friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed mixing and mingling with the other guests in the library each evening. We met some really interesting folk from all around the world and enjoyed that the Fitzroy staff also stayed around to chat with us.

Can't think of a thing - everything was perfect for our 4 night stay with friends. A real joy to find such a quality hotel so close to everything in Ponsonby. I felt like I was on holiday in Europe!

Location was ideal, everything was very high calibre and excellent quality. Communal area/library/ deck were enjoyable. The all inclusive drinks, breakfast etc felt decadent and appreciated

Hors devours weren’t up to the same level of quality as the rest of the experience. They were very noticeably cheap. The drinks room only had one bottle of red and everyone was drinking it and we had to ask for another. There were multiple bottles of other wines but only one of the red. One was brought up and it was drank between the 5 in the library and no one wanted to ask for another. The liquor in the decanters should have been labeled.

Highly recommend. We stayed here for one night (I'm writing this as soon as we've got home). It was for a birthday treat and honestly it has been the most incredible treat. From the welcome drink with the wonderful Sarah (who looked after us so amazingly), to the macarons, the 5 o'clock wine and nibbles and the most luxurious room I've ever stayed in. When we looked at everything that is included in the stay we felt like it was incredible value for money. Also the breakfast that was included was the best. So delicious. We will definitely be back and for longer next time, because one night just wasn't enough.
