Like the cleanliness, support by staff, and the games at lobby

There can be some more efforts to make the hostel nore social. I would suggest the hostel authorities tk create a whatsapp group so that every person who stays at this hostel can be part of this group, and this will be a chance for people to get more social, allowing to call for playing games at lobby, and this will promote the hostel further, as a marketing strategy for you.

I enjoyed my clean, warm and quiet room (well quiet Sunday night anyway). I parked in the Civic carpark for the two nights and it was only a short walk to the YMCA. The toilets and shower rooms were clean and warm with mostly only one other person in them at the same time as me. I particularly liked the fact that Level One seemed to be for women only.

Sadly the plump chap on reception on my last morning seemed rather mean spirited when he refused to lend a person a pen to use because he wasn't a resident. Not a good look.

The Chinese girl (from Habin) on Reception was absolutely lovely... very helpful. I like staying at the YMCA - it's handy to central Auckland and the facilities are all that I need for each stay. It's never too crowded, so toilets and showers remain clean and fresh.

I know that central Auckland can be a noisy place, but I did find the shouting from drunks or whoever in Greys Ave throughout the night disruptive to a sound sleep.

Room was very well designed with large window, good double-level cupboard, desk, shelves and fridge, as well as clean bed. Linen replaced once a week with good notice of which day. Location was central and close to one of the bus stops on the City Link circular route. Had a fire alarm one night during the stay and the staff were very professional in handling the guests properly. Kitchen well equipped and stove tops replaced with modern ceramic tops during my stay.

Did not worry me personally, but need to sign up that one would not drink alcohol on site, even in one's room. No TV in the room, but potential facilities communally. Wifi had to be reconnected weekly, rather than being given one code for the stay (a problem at end of first week)

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms and public areas were clean, even had a fridge inside the room, and maybe I haven't used it, but there was a table tennis in the lobby and people kept playing pool there too. The people staying there were also very nice and communicative but that's just luck :)

It's difficult to find a good working place with a laptop while the dining hall and kitchens are pretty small, though they still got what you need as long as it isn't crowded.

Convenient to transit and an easy walk to downtown. Quite clean and comfortable.

I feel like the Y should revamp the floors to somehow have a kitchen in each floor. Two kitchens on floor 2 and 3 are small. How about taking one single room on floor 1 and 4, add a small kitchen- counter, microwave, kettle etc. Rooms have a fridge so there doesn’t need to be a fridge in those rooms.

Nothing I didn’t like but would suggest putting up a sign on more info in the laundry room for pricing and the times for both washing machine and dryer cycles for the guests :-)

Room was very clean and staff were very friendly and helpful! The only thing that I would say is that I went with my friend.. and the female bathrooms were down a level? So I would definitely go again but would ask to be on a floor with female toilets and showers!

Out of all the hostels I've stayed at, this one has been one of the good ones. Covers all the basic requirements as a backpacker without vehicle transport.

Breakfast was a bit steep for what was provided, but appreciated that it was there as it was quite convenient.

The staff is super friendly and always here to help. The place is clean and very confortable. It's near enough Auckland CBD main street that you can easily wlak there but still quiet. The place feels super safe and is a great place to stay in a quiet, confortable environment. Would 100% recommand !!!!
