The Aalton Motel was the perfect accommodation for a short stay in Christchurch. It is a very beautiful 25 minute walk through the park and botanical Gardens to the centre of Christchurch. We found everything we needed in the motel and had a very comfortable night sleep. Our host was exceptionally helpful and provided us with the ideal breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and I would like to thank them very much for making our stay so welcoming and comfortable.

I can’t think of anything negative to say about the property. If we return to Christchurch in the future, we would have no hesitation in staying at the Aalton Motel again.

Friendly staff/owners. Flexible as arrived early. Mentioned local shopping mall and directions - I didn't know my way around city. Quiet, warm CLEAN. Parking outside. Safe as was staying alone. This is not 5 star hotel but it is 5 star hosting. It is also excellent value so very close to main arterial route. Breakfast was yummy and tea and coffee faciliites perfect for quick cuppa. I left behind clothing and they rang me only 1.5 hours after I left - so just as I was boarding, prompt and honest to deal with. Thank you!

Excellent hosts who were very accommodating. Very roomy superior studio, warm and quiet. Comfortable bed and good shower pressure. Very handy to many food options and walkable to shops and hospital. Offered good carparking which a lot in the area don't. Being a solo female Traveller I felt very safe. Great value for money, would definitely stay again. All sky TV channels and good wifi. Thank you.

Nothing I didn't like, some updating needed but not enough to detract from my impression of the place. Met all expectations and more of the 3 stars given.

Large room, kitchen, comfortable bed and quiet. Free parking and convenient to shops and restaurants. Next to the botanical garden but unfortunately we did not get to see because the weather was not great and we were tired from an early flight from Australia. Continental breakfast (juice, toast, yogurt, etc) brought to us the night before.

Roger is an absolute Gentleman. I had some confusion regarding bill (my mistake) and he patiently explained it to me by writing it down in detail. The rooms are lovely with so many amenities.The location is excellent. Walkable to Hagley Park, restaurants, Punting on the Avon. Would love to stay again.

Was a good location everything near by staff was very polite and welcoming heating was good did love that they had the sports channels viewing 😊

They only had one nights worth of conditioner but nothing to major and thought room would of been serviced for the second day there but the staff were very helpful and had no problem getting a fresh pair of towels when i asked

The property was located close to Hagley Park so that we could live the car in front of our room and walk through the park into the city. The room was spacious, with a separate kitchen which was had everything we needed. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and the accommodation was very good value for money bearing in mind it is so close to the city.

Fabulous location for what we needed at the time; a modest room however suited our needs and cleanliness exceeded expectation. I have been too busy these days to watch TV and it was fabulous to catch sky TV and the trims of hopping into a warm bed to soak up the channels. Wifi for my daughter a must and we were made sure we had that. Eye to detail, heater was on, milk in the fridge as we arrived a little late, was a lovely welcome. Big bathroom so we had all we needed. A qauint homely accommodation with ammenities enough to provide so there is little or no wastage. Very friendly staff whom you knew enjoy what they provide. We'd like to come back to room 11 and for a wee bit longer. My daughter was sad to leave.

The motel is very well located, staff is very friendly and room is spacious, clean and fully equipped. An excellent place to visit Christchurch, as the city centre is just across the park.

Had a wonderful post-beer festival stay at Aalton Motel - great staff, spacious unit and an invitingly refreshing pool! Really great location close to Hagley Park and Riccarton.

Only issue was the unit was a bit warm, but it was a very hot day and my beer jacket probably didn't help!
