Carnmore Hagley Park

We had the accessible unit with a disability park right in front of our unit, even a small ramp to get into the unit without having to lift your foot over the step up. This was very important to me as I am mobility impaired. The unit had a seperate bedroom with ensuite. The bed was large as in 2 mtr wide, 2x king singles instead of the 2 single in any king size bed plus the mattresses were incredibly comfortable and the bed just the right height for me. The lounge. Dining, Kitchen area were well equipped with a sofa, table and chairs, kitchen utensils and a microwave, it even had a desk with desk chair and desk light. If course not to forget the large tv hanging in the wall. The unit was serviced daily and even our coffee, drinking chocolate and milk were replenished everyday. When you stay 4 nights like we did, this saves you buying, milk and coffee etc. Towels could be changed daily but we chose not to, we don’t wash them everyday at home either.

Property manager, Richard, helped in every way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Problem with wifi? No problem - fixed in a jiffy. Need room to be tidied? Every day servicing with a smile. Need a brolli? At your service - and All Blacks colors to boot! In summary, he and staff couldn't be more helpful, courteous, and accommodating.. And the location is the best for walking or tramming the heart of Christchurch - coffee shops, restaurants, CBD and let's not forget the namesake park with it's wondrous gardens, playgrounds and clean lakes - everything invitingly close by. All-in-all the Carnmore Hagley Park is every bit the real deal.

This was a last minute stop for us on our driving holiday of New Zealand. Location was excellent, you can walk to Westfield Riccarton in 10 minutes, as well as many food options along Riccarton Road. The rooms were enormous and super comfortable.

As this is a refurbished motel, the second level is accessed via stairs so anyone with mobility issues would need to stay on the ground level. Also the rooms are very loud, we had some kids next door to us and above our other family members who partied all night long. The shower was also very average, however for a quick overnight stay, I would book again.

The room is dang spacious! Very clean and neatly tidied up with all needed facilities. It was a very cold night when we checked in. The staff waited for us till 8pm to help us out. Came to surprise when we enter the room, he had turned on the heater for us already. Unfortunately we didn't get to remember his name. That action comforts us alot. Big thank you!!

Nothing really that we don't like. We left luggages at reception after we check out till late as we were exploring Christchurch, they allowed and assisted to keep for us. It was really helpful!

Liked the bedding structure for 3 (2 kids & 1 adult). Liked kitchen facilities, having a microwave & jug, sachets of hot chocolate etc. Good there was a separate toilet. Liked how the tv was able to be pulled out from the wall & you could sign into streaming channels. Liked the idea of the shampoo & conditioner & moisturiser dispensers in the shower.

The shower head sprayed. The toilet door didn’t catch when shutting & if left open swung towards you. The bathroom soap dispenser didn’t work. It seemed like dispensers, including the dishwashing liquid was watered down.

The room was excellent, layout of furniture a bit funny with the sofa at right angles to the tv but nothing a little furniture re arranging cold not fix. Plenty of space and wonderful water pressure for the shower, something many motels dont have.

The room was at the front of the motel on Riccarton road and in the early evening was quite noisy, but it was quiet after about 10pm and had not got noisy before I left at 8.30am. Not many restaurants in the area that are not Thai or Indian

The bedroom was beautiful the lounge and kitchen modern and well appointed the shower fabulous pressure. The bed absolutely so comfortable the sheets were amazing. Every inch of the unit sparkled it was clean as and immaculate. A very nice touch with the tea coffee facility coffee bags that were to die for in stead of those usual instant coffee satchels. I can't recommend my stay high enough if ever I am in christchurch again I will be staying no where else. It's incredible value I have paid so much more for tired old unclean facilities. Don't hesitate I travel a lot and rarely would I rate 10 out of 10. The road appearance doesn't reflect the quality of the inside. Don't let that put you off. I'm sure you will also be writing a positive review impossible not to. Deleney

Couldn't find fault.

it was exactly as described. loved the accessible bed lamp switch, little outside table and chairs and peaceful lookout. Curiously one small but important feature was that the coathangers were NOT those normal four star coathangers that are fixed to the rail, but normal easily workable coathangers! Mostly very helpful staff, small in-house bar ( five days a week) and good local restaurants and breakfast cafes nearby( shout out to Park Ranger for breakfast and Thai Orchid for dinner!). This was the first time ever in Christchurch I have **not** been disappointed. I will be back.

two small quibbles. the bowls and plates were on the top shelf of the cupboard - well out of reach of older and barely 5 foot person! it would be great to see some efforts at recycling

Perfect location for getting to Christchurch Hospital for necessary surgery. Separate bedroom allowed my husband to recuperate in the quiet while I could watch TV in the living room. We were given a downstairs unit as requested which we appreciated.

Unfortunately I found the traffic noise made it difficult to sleep. Not so bad with the windows shut but it was a hot night and air conditioning in the living room wasn't quite enough to keep bedroom cool.

Good location. Not located in the city but across the street which is just 2 minutes walk, there's plenty of restaurants. We were provided with disabled room which is great as I was travelling with a 75 yo mother. The disable parking is directly outside the room. After hour check-in process or instructions is very easy to follow.

There is no hot water after two person showered before me. I've waited long enough for the tank to refill. Unfortunately only cold water when I had my shower. Not great if you could feel the wind coming in from the bathroom window which is not entirely shut.
