The location for shows at the Canterbury arena is perfect! Also so close to Tower Junction so that’s even more helpful. The rooms are a great size and warm up so quickly especially in the chilly winter. Also it’s really easy to find! Great parking so that your off the road.

It was really only little things and it didn’t make the stay bad. It would have been nice to have some wine glasses in the rooms, extra blankets especially in winter. Our 2nd room had a hairdryer but our room didn’t have one so we ended up sharing. Been down stairs close to the room made it quiet nosy at nighttime. However still such a great place to stay!

We stayed at this motel for one night and we found our stay comfortable, the staff was super friendly, the facilities were great and the location perfect for us (we had to take an early morning train and this was a 4 min drive and 15 mins on foot to the station). The motel provided a free drop off to the railway station so really happy about that (as we had intended to walk down). It also wasn’t far from the botanical gardens, riverside market and the highlight for my family was kayaking down the Avon. We had a good time!!

I’ve never stayed in such a tiny but perfectly formed room (never been to Tokyo!) - it had absolutely everything you needed for a night or two just compacted into a very efficient use of space. Really clean. Without doubt the best shower I’ve had in weeks whilst on our trip. It’s really cleverly designed, loads of storage under the bed, clever control panels in the wall, other places to store and hang things. The bed was comfy and the breakfast (hot and cold buffet) was delicious. Easy check out - handed in the keys - and the whole experience was great, efficient and economical. Highly recommended for a quick visit.

We were perfectly happy with it but the bed only had one exit (over the other person) and there was no window but for an overnight stay or two neither were a problem!

An excellent place to stay for the Tranzalpine Express with a free shuttle to the station with our helpful host. (Thank you) Great location for public transport being right on the Orbiter route and 5 minutes walk from regular buses to the inner city. We took a taxi from the airport but realised later we could have easily and cheaply taken buses instead. A number of dining options around the corner on Lincoln Road, and an excellent vege store with some groceries a few minutes walk up the road. Very central and accessible

Window catches in the bedroom and bathroom need fixing and the bathroom fan exceptionally noisy. Extra blankets were advertised in the brochure but weren't in the room, and I had to alert management to a lack of teaspoons which was corrected next day. I expect blankets would also have been made available if I had asked but we didn't need them

Perfect location to be close to the train station. Would definitely recommend bringing earplugs for sleeping if you wake easily. I found that the traffic woke me up throughout the night. The room was comfortable and I had everything I could have needed. The receptionist was lovely and very knowledgeable of the area

I would have liked there to be another towel rack in the bathroom but I do understand it is a bit awkward with how the room is laid out. The shower also could have done with a more thorough clean as there was a little pink mould

Excellent location for restaurants andconvenience stores. The lady who checked us in , in spite of being very busy allowed us to store our luggage and later allowed us to check in a bit early. She was extremely helpful

I found a slight difficulty with the shower. The water comes very hot and when you turn it in the opposite direction it gets at once cold. I feel if this were easier to adjust a lot of water can be saved as it takes time turning it to adjust to the temperature you need

I like that the motel has a small kitchen and the dishes are not having to be washed in the bathroom basin as is common in many motels. Very warm studio room. Excellent supply of tea, coffee and the milk was in a bottle not tiny sachets. The location is excellent with bus stops close. The lovely new manager Gina is such a valuable asset to the motel. The motel is so much cleaner than when we were last there in May 2022 , she was so welcoming and helpful on our arrival.

Single glazed windows which did nothing towards blocking out the busy traffic noise . Easily fixable with double glazing. We have stayed at the Arena Motel often as it is well located. The owners would benefit by upgrading the motel starting with new carpet on the stairs. An art work of some sort on the wall would add to the bland decor.

We chose this motel due to its close location to the Christchurch Scenic Railway departure point. Although a little bit out of town, we did walk in for a days sight seeing. However we did get a taxi back. The room was spacious for 2 (with 3rd bed in corner) with everything we needed. The lady on reception was very welcoming and offered us the free mini bus drop off for the early morning train the next day.

Bit out of town (Addington) but we did know this.

Everything was perfect the location is close to where we wanted to go plus more and the room is comfortable room 1 had the right amount of beds for family to stay in the future and also had everything needed especially Gina she's great it was like meeting a part of home so hope to see her and the motel again soon

Nothing bothered me but I'd have to say the shower above room 1 in room 10 was a bit loud and would surely annoy most people since most people like to shower for long so besides that it is still perfect for the price you pay can't complain i enjoyed it and will recommend it to family. see you guys again soon cheers

The motel is 3 mins walk away from the event venue so super handy location. A lot of restaurants nearby. The staff are also helpful and allowed us to keep our luggage while they get the room ready.

Maybe just the water in the shower. We tried to do the on/off option for 3 mins but the water pressure is really slow and if you increase the pressure, it will be cold.
