Super nice hosts made us feel at home. Comfy bed and everything you needed. We were hoping for some organic eggs or something from the farm for breakfast, but it was more continental. (To be fair, that was not stated in the description, we just assumed that from the name "Organic Farmstay"). But lovely hosts and very nice and we would recommend it to any travelers. The grounds and flowers were lovely!

Thank you so much Alison and Grant for welcoming us in your house! We needed a 2 days break, and it was the perfect place. The room was lovely and comfortable, so much cute little details in the room. The bed and the arm chairs were so comfortable. It was perfectly clean, welcoming! Don't get me started with the homemade breakfast, tasty food, and Alison is cooking almost everything herself. Landscapes are very beautiful, it's very calm and quiet, and to finish with the best, Alison was amazing, thanks for the talks and for welcoming us so great, nearly fell at home.

I and my husband spent such a wonderful time at farmstay. The room was very clean, tidy and well-kept. We saw the brightest shooting star I’ve ever seen through the window. We will never forget that moment. The host was so generous, friendly, lovely to chat with. I wish we could have stayed there longer. I loved absolutely everything about this farmstay. I will definitely visit again when I come to Southland to travel again.

Alison and Grant were very gracious and friendly. The breakfast was great, and the room was very comfortable. The farm was very pretty.

Location was a bit off the beaten path, but worth the drive for us. Bathroom window didn’t have a shade or privacy glass (but the sheep in the adjacent field weren’t too nosy.

Grant was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. With his wife away at the time he did a great job of looking after us. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the views of the garden and countryside were beautiful. A very peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

location Views Comfort. Real working farm and a such a warm welcome from Allison & Grant a delightful couple who made our stay exceptional. So much knowledge of area and tips for visits to local attractions. Air museum ,Steam train ,Dollamar Park & local gardens . Calves were being fed by son Mark which was another treat to experience. We highly recommend and easy to find just a short drive out the small town of Mataura.

I liked that we had the friendly hospitality of being on a farm, coupled with all the mod cons of a separate apartment attached to the farmhouse. Lovely flower filled garden and very spacious, light filled room and ensuite. Close to Mataura for dinner at the pub.

Beautiful location up in the hills above Mataura, the owners are friendly and welcoming. The room is spacious and comfortable, with facilities to warm up food if necessary. great continental breakfast with Alison’s homemade jams and poached fruit from the garden.

Be prepared to drive 20 minutes to Gore to find a restaurant !

The couple who hosted us were friendly and real farmers, clearly devoted to their property. Bedroom was comfy.

At an “organic farm stay,” we were expecting a heartier breakfast, with more choices than Cornflakes and supermarket toast.

my love goes to the host, Alison. greatly appreciated for the warmest night we had in Southland. a long chat into late evening. would love to stay a little while longer if we were not rushing to next itinerary. definitely will come back again anytime soon
