Tudor Lodge Motel

Very spacious rooms with all the facilities I may need. Well equipped kitchenette, air conditioning, sky TV, spacious bathroom and in a good location, especially if you are visiting the beach. Lots of choices for dining out within walking distance. Friendly owner who was happy to look after my luggage once I checked out and had a late flight. Easy access to local airport.

I was super tired when I stayed here as I had just completed a 4 day hike so I fell fast asleep, however, it is located on a main road and my room was at the front so I can imagine it can get a bit noisy. It didn't impact me but it may bother some.

Clean and had most of what one expects in a Motel. Staff were friendly. Laundry facilities on site. Covered BBQ facility on site with seating area and lights. Beach is just around the corner with heaps of activities for the younger children. Plenty of places to eat, including bar & restaurant. Nice outdoor patio, not very private but good for a morning coffee.

BBQ and surrounding area could do with a thorough clean and water blast. BBQ rubbish-bin was overflowing. Bed was very, very soft - such a pity becasue the room was really lovely.

the location to the bus stop. I used bus everyday. close to beach even though I only went there once briefly free WiFi. heat pump and able to watch TV from bed clothes hangers in the wardrobe

Tudor lodge knowing more about the bus BeeCard and or timetable. Where to get them - Stoke library not just back in Nelson Advice about where to get basic groceries - although no supermarket. Was (similar to a 4square around the corner)

Tony is a great guy! Nice to talk to and his mother is a sweetheart. Breakfast was abundant with lots of choices. My bed was comfortable and the electric blanket made it nice and toasty on a cold night. If it hadn't been raining the next morning, I would have walked down to the path that leads to the lake. Nice to be near the lake, but not around all the touristy areas. When I pass this way again, I will stay at Tony's Lodge.

Reasonable sized accommodation, Clean site, clean accommodation, good location. Easy access to local beaches in the area, city accessable etc. Supermarkets and eateries nearby. Airport 10 minute drive away.

A bit near highway so can be noisy at times. To be fair, there were roadworks outside at night which probably made a difference. Bathroom could do with some hooks, more storage area.

Sean was very helpful supplying a DVD player (which are no longer current technology at the motel) so I could watch the DVDs I had specially brought with me to watch.

Motel is on a busy road beside a Tool Shed store - very noisy at 5am on my last morning when a bin collection truck was next door - apparently a fortnightly occurrence.

A lot of thought put into making the rooms comfortable and well equipped by extremely friendly hosts, Shaun and his wife. The big disabled-friendly shower for my 93 yo mother was a fantastic bonus. Undoubted value for money as we got two separate units for less than $300.

Not a complaint, just a suggestion -- I'd remove the single bed in each room and put in some comfortable sofa / chairs? Having the extra bed means there was no actual living room and had to sit on beds to watch TV. Not complaining, just suggesting.

Great accommodation in Nelson. Sean was very helpful at check in and gave local suggestions of things to do on a rainy day in Nelson. Accommodation was clean, spacious and well equipped to suit our needs. Sky tv was a great to have. Each unit has its own parking space and off road so was within reach if needed. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Room was well appointed and clean. We liked the little courtyard that we sat in for breakfast etc

There was a bit of background noise from the road, and it was a disappointment that they didn't call me to alert me that I had left my purse behind. We were 1.5 hours up the road when I realised and called & they had found it. An earlier call would have been helpful to us.

Our room was a good size for 3 of us, well set out and clean. Staff very friendly and accomodating. The location was perfect for us, very central to wider Nelson. We enjoyed a walk on the beach most mornings which just very short distance away. Would definitely stay here again!

Our only lower point was the queen bed, not very comfortable but we did get use to it after a few nights.
