This is such a cool spot for anyone travelling to/through Nelson! Great value for money and our room was incredible - think tudor style lodgings, classic and cosy. Our room even had a claw foot bath! Our room had a lovely view of the harbour too. I wish I could have enjoyed it even more but was so tired from a long day of driving I passed out on top of the bed at maybe 7pm?? Goes to show how peaceful and comfortable the room is as usually I am a fussy sleeper. Had a real good sleep that night. The food at the tavern there was delicious too, and staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. One incident was that I dirty my shoes at a muddy beach and the staff kindly let me use a large cleaning sink to clean my shoes. Thank you and much appreciated. The location was very good with beautiful scenery - high and low tides right before your eyes. The room was vintage style, cosy and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Our family of 7 had dinner in the hotel restaurant - excellent! Highly recommend this hotel to visitors coming to the Nelson area.

Perfect spot to base ourselves for a wedding in the area. Very happy having this beautiful old pub to have as our base enjoying the array of quality food and tasty beverages. Staff made us very welcome. Especially Iain the manager. Great selection of toys for the little ones. And go pick yourself some apples and pears straight off the trees!

We really enjoyed the property gardens, outdoor seating areas, the attached pub and restaurant, and the paved walkways on the peninsula. The ambiance of the old English style was beautiful. We greatly appreciated the option to purchase a late check-out. We easily walked to the airport from the hotel with a rolling suitcase.

We chose the room with the added sitting area however the sofa was too broken down so we ended up sitting on the bed anyway. Replacing that two seater sofa would have made the room a 10.

Lovely little hotel in a quiet location close to the airport. Very friendly staff and a really nice little bar. The room was a little small but had everything I needed and I was only there for one night. I could see how the outdoor areas would be great for functions and in the summer and would definitely return. Bar food was excellent with a really good range of options.

There was nothing to not like.

Lovely place. Delightful single room with a queen sized bed, en-suite facilities overlooking the courtyard and bay. The hotel food was excellent. Staff were super nice and very helpful in telling me great plces to visit. I would recommend this hotel.

Great location and property to enjoy. We enjoyed sitting and watching the sun set over the water. Nice restaurant.

We had a west facing room and with the intense afternoon sun we found we couldn't stay in the room because it got so hot, even with the fan that was provided. Fortunately there's a lot of shady tables to enjoy a drink.

Extremely friendly welcome, such a lively atmosphere, great location, nice to have a continental breakfast included in the room price. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. Lovely view from our room. Fun large chess game in the garden. Lots of outdoor furniture.

decor in our room was a little tired. No air conditioning, used the free-standing fan which was quite loud.

The whole ambience, a superb example of a traditional English pub in Nelson, New Zealand. The staff were superb, the location is amazing, surrounded on 3 sides with water. Lovely gardens to walk in, the food was excellent quality and great value. The accommodation was great, it was spacious, dual aspect and we wanted for nothing.

A/C could have been a bonus

Great outdoor area. Meals were good. We checked out 1 day early due to concern about weather forecast and potential road closures - weren't charged for the cancelled night.

We had to call for help on two nights to let us back into hotel as the key wouldn't turn the lock Had a bit of difficulty with the radiators in the room.
