The owners of the place are very hands-on and friendly. They often learn names and they have interest in making sure you have a good day. The location is quite nice as it's in a residential area but a few blocks walk from Central New Plymouth plus two blocks away from the incredible Pukekohe park. It's an excellent and very comfortable base for all your new Plymouth adventures. Especially since they have a shuttle service to go do many of the Egmont and Taranaki walks

The kitchen is a bit small for the number of people that sometimes try to use it, but such as hostels. And there's also limited showers and toilets per floor, though thankfully I did not encounter too much problem with having to wait for a shower or a bathroom.

Very nice artsy feels about this place. Love the communal area, so warm! Love the staff. Brett was awesome. It was cleaner than many hostels and very well-managed in order.

4-bed shared room had a stench. And I was constantly woken up by another traveller who flipped the whole room to find her lost keys at 10-11pm I think. I decided on the room with lesser people, ending up regretting and would have gone private room with my girlfriend if we knew.

Thought it was great, clean friendly and 10 minute walk to where I needed to be everyday.. supermarket and a variety of takeaways were practically across the rd.. Kitchen facilities were great with lots of room for everyone.. Would definitely stay there again..

The weather could have been a bit nicer but that's not the establishments fault lol.. One or two nights other tenants could have been a lil bit more respectful by not slamming doors but other than that enjoyed my stay..

Very friendly and helpful staff upon check in Room was basic 3man room but matched the pictures I didn't cook but plenty of people were so good facilities and several common areas It was just VERY quiet - not just the hostel, town, bars and restaurants So nothing with the hostel just maybe the date I was there (mon)

There’s nothing I would say that wasn’t nice about this place. It was all awesome! So many seating areas, all warm, cosy and comfy. Lots of charging outlets. Well equipped kitchen. Bright and colourful interiors and nice showers and toilets too! Good value for what I first thought was a little expensive for a backpackers. Met some lovely travelers that were staying there. Overall it had a super chill vibe and I look forward to stopping by again :)

Upon arrival I was fortunate enough to get an upgraded room & the hostel overall was pretty quiet. I personally didn't mind & there were extra blankets & a heater for the room. Also Brett runs a shuttle so I was able to get to the IG famous Tarn that I probably wouldn't have otherwise. Be warned it's a lot of steps but so worth it if the weather is in your favor!

The walls are a little thin so if people are talking you can hear them. But that seems to be a thing regardless of where I've gone in NZ so a pair of headphones easily solve that issue.

I had a great stay, it was comfortable and clean and the staff Sophie and Brett were very kind and helpful! Brett was great helping me get to see Mount Taranaki! The hostel was in a great location and felt safe and comfortable.

The only thing I can think of is my bed didn’t have a ladder which made climbing to the bed very uncomfortable and felt a bit unsafe so hopefully they can fix this soon!

Lovely staff, clean and plentiful facilities and good location for parking. Kitchen has everything you need and plenty of everything, dining room and lounge are very spacious.

Bunk bed was very squeeky, so getting in the upper bunk was very loud. Could have also used a shelf or something for putting away things in the top bunk.

The bed was really comfortable! Nice that they also offer (paid) laundry facilities. Brett is nice and helpful. Shower & kitchen were clean. Not too many people in one room.

Missed some shared oil & salt in the kitchen. The outlets were not always easy to find. When hanging your laundry outside to dry people would smoke next to your clean laundry.

I found it great value. Was pleased my grand daughter was able to join me at no extra cost. I liked the chap who was a permanent lodger. He was friendly and helpful. I will recommend this to my friends and family

My mattress was a bit lumpy. The bunks wobbly they creaked a lot haha. The light coming through the window in the door was a bit annoying. I put a towel over it. But hey I enjoyed my stay. Found the staff great too.
