The location is ideal as it is not far away from the main centre. Easy to park as each room has an allocated space. The room was clean and tidy. Nice to have Sky TV within our room. Comfortable bed and peaceful at night time. Access to swimming pool is not big enough to swim in, but OK for a dip, but remember it isn't heated. Use of paid laundry machines.

I would say that I don't see what was superior about the room. Our room was sufficient enough, but it was dated, and I do believe that the rooms are in the process of being renovated. It was just a base camp for us..

We stayed in the 3 bedroom cottage which was separate from the other rooms which was great. The entire cottage was very spacious even for a family of 6, beds were comfy and it had everything we needed including 2 toilets and 2 showers which was a treat. Our host Winnie was very lovely and accommodating, she checked in on us twice to see if we needed any refills and her partner even came over to ask if we needed wifi for the kids, which we didn’t because the smart tv in the living room was more than enough. The property has a small pool and spa which is a bit outdated but still enjoyable for kids and the property is only a short walk away from the beach end that has a small play area, kayaks to hire and public bathrooms.

The oven is probably the only thing that needs to be upgraded since only the stove top works and to keep in mind that the cottages hot water runs from a hot water cylinder not gas.

You can feel the passion of the owner and her welcome comes through genuinely we stayed there twice and we will be back for more if they'll have space when we're back I like that I can cook my own food too

It's sort of hate and love at the same time I love the air conditioning and I thrive with cooler air while I sleep but my partner prefers warmer. The bed was just getting the flow from the conditioner onto him so we had another bed in the room we have changed to that one but the bed was not as comfortable as the first one but still ok. Also air conditioning has a light indication which lit up the room but I like it really dark and could not turn that indication off while still keeping the AC on. Anyways small issues, not a big problem the rest I am really happy with and will definitely be back again

Winnie the Manager was very welcoming, so helpful and worked extremely hard. We had an upstairs apartment and had a balcony which was great. The location was excellent with the beach, restaurants and wharf in easy walking distance.

It was meant to be a one bedroomed apartment, but the lounge area also had a double and a single bed in it, making it impossible to sit comfortably. Winnie did help us with a bit of furniture moving which did make it slightly better, but it was disappointing.

Gave a suggestion to reciprocate a discount with a breakfast business

Cockroaches need eradication

We arrived late so the office was closed. It was very clear on what we needed to do. We called the provided number with an immediate friendly greeting. Directed us to our room and showed up when we were having problems with the tv. It was a wonderful, but short experience.

When we drove up there was a pile of linens and cleaning carts sitting outside the first room we drove by. That probably wasn’t an ideal or accurate representation of the facility. As it was extremely clean, organised, tidy and a lovely candle burning for us with our late arrival.

The Averill Motel is in a good location and within easy walking distance to bars restaurants and the beach. We found the manager very informative and helpful for excursions. The unit was clean and we had fresh towels every day. We only booked for two nights but stayed a third night. I can recommend the motel. Has nice pool and spa and the area around was very clean.

Don’t have anything negative and host made us feel welcome and would return if travelling up in Paihia.

Really had a fabulous stay for a week. We were made welcome from the start. Anything we needed was supplied by just asking Winnie the owner of the motel. The room was spacious and very clean, everything we needed supplied in the kitchen area. Tea and coffee topped up daily and fresh milk in fridge. The hotel was perfectly situated a little walk from Paihia centre so very quiet and a beautiful walk along the seafront into town. We loved our stay and would definitely return if we had the opportunity. Didn’t want to leave.

Nothing we loved everything

Plenty of room. Well equipped kitchen ( better than expected) with a proper cooker, so that included an oven. BBQ was great. Guest laundry was easy to use and not expensive ($NZ4 for washer and same for dryer 4x1$ or 2x2$ coins) Hot tub had water changed daily. Value for money

Only being picky... the shower was a little awkward as it was a fixed head, but it did work perfectly well and was lovely and warm

We love staying here !!! the rooms are massive, and everything is spotless and beautiful. Staff have go out of their way to be helpful with everything They especially cleaned a room we wanted as we have always had room 8 . My son loves going there and has decided we will go back in August for his birthday . So close to the beach too..
