So quiet and serene, it is a pet friendly resort, which was awesome as we like to be able to take our fur baby with us, and there was plenty of space for our Staffy to have exercise. The room was comfy and warm. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We will def be returning altho aged it would ha e been a stunner in the day. However, for what we wanted, it was perfect. Highly recommend different types of room stays available but value for money. Great parking out front of our room. Close to town just a short drive. Rubbish and recycling handy to rooms. The shower was nice, and there were plenty of hot water fresh towels delivered daily. Bbqs are available, too. They have a small pool but too cold to swim this round. lolz

Loved that Grandeur was nestled just outside of Taupo. Close enough to run to the shops & do activities but far enough to have a break from the bustle of people. The setting, being somewhat amongst trees & shrub was really nice & relaxing. Our room was basic, but had most of everything we needed. The heat pump especially come in handy with the winter cold as well as the spa bath. Drawers as the wardrobe were also good to have & allowed us to actually unpack our clothes instead of living out of your suitcase. I overall really loved this place & would definitely go again.

Would have loved a hob in the kitchen to cook meals off & better pillows (as the ones they have are like rock hard 🤣).

Don't know why this has a low rating online? It was quiet, clean, comfortable, nice bed, heaps of parking and a spa. I do lots of travel and, yes the place is a bit dated but the price reflect that. Otherwise, great, I'll be back

Loved how the heat pump was on since it was a very cold day so it made it nice and cosy . We requested more sheets for the fold out bed. The staff were awesome and brought them over and he Checked and made sure they fitted the mattress . There was extra towels put outside our room the next morning which was awesome as we hadnt requested any .The fire alarm was set off from the toaster we and rang and they were very quickly to arrive to turn it off . Awesome stay and value for money ..

Great energy, peaceful. Relaxing bath. A great little community. Love your hot stream! So cool! Really close to some great attractions (bungy/, swing, thermal park- amazing) and every essential amenity you could need for a getaway. But far away enough from town to be perfect. Staff were kind and welcoming right from the start. Thank you all so much. Some great local businesses, which we didn't get to try but would have loved to.

Unusual layout of the buildings caught us a bit by surprise, and the building exteriors could do with a spruce up, but the room was warm, clean and tidy, the beds were clean and comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. Very quiet and peaceful.

Everything is a bit dated and needs to be refreshed, but given what we paid per night we weren't expecting luxury. Tired paintwork inside and out, but that's very minor! Would have liked an extra blanket or two.

The chalet had a certain charm to it. I really did like the room and the Spa Bath. The chalet was also very clean and had everything we needed in it. Clean linen, towels and so forth. The beds were also very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern. I liked how quiet it was in the morning and sitting outside listening to the creek and the birds singing was very relaxing. The charming little bridge we crossed was also a nice touch. The receptionist had a friendly smile and was very welcoming and helpful. It definitely has potential to be a great place to stay.

We hadn't really looked into the place before we booked so we weren't quite ready for what we saw. When we went down the driveway and then pulled up into the reception area we were expecting the worst. The reception building is quite dated and then the buildings next to the chalets was a bit off-putting. We were staying in the chalet at the end of three and the pathway to it was quite narrow so it was quite awkward to have to squeeze past someone standing outside of the first chalet to get to our one. Maybe making another entry point would be good? Once we got over these things we definitely did enjoy our stay.

Tranquil environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city!! Unit was superbly placed capturing the morning sunlight through the windows and door. Parking, awesome. Upstairs was very comfortable. Beds were comfortable Even though there was an air pump, we did not choose downstairs bedroom as we thought the room was a tad cool even though there was a heater. We thought the spa pool was a bonus, I really enjoyed this treat even though I couldn't work the air vent in the spa room. Bathroom, great. Great to see and use the recycling bins. In our particular unit, did you ever think of adding a hotplate to cook an easy meal?

The comfortable beds and clean crisp linen was lovely. Nice clean white towels. New bed heads really boosted the room gave it a modern look. I can see the potential as the rooms are done up. Very quaint.. Obviously alot of history there it would be nice to restore the old buildings to their former glory over time..maintain a piece of Taupo history ( sad to hear the hot water river has been relocated.) The warm smile of the chap on the main desk made our stay. 😊 Nice curtain fabric, ( Just needs one curtain fixed up) I love the colour you are thinking of doing in the bathroom ( aqua colour) White is always nice and crisp with a splash of aqua in the bathroom will be great. I can see the place was once a grand old lady. and with a spruce up she could be pumping again! The room chairs and new cabinetry is nice. I liked the lights on the poles and in the trees was a cheerful addition. $130 is a fair price for its present condition. Thanks for being dog friendly 😁 really appreciated the dog bowl on the porch after a long day travelling in the car. The improvements are great that are beginning to happen, it is a great location for families and we had a really pleasant comfortable nights stay. Thank you. 😊

The cobwebs could be cleared from the outside of reception building.looked abit like an abandoned ghost town/ movie set . A big pot with colourful flowers outside the reception would make reception more inviting. (Like a half wine barrel filled with cheerful flowers) The bathroom tiles are quite slippery possibly not the right ones for a bathroom floor? Worth spending the time and money finishing them properly. Definitely needs a mattress protector on the beds to protect the mattress from blood leaks as two old stains on mattress. Need to upgrade the website about the hot pool and spa that these are not available as we were looking forward to this.

we enjoyed our stay. our room could fit us all, it didn’t feel like a tight squeeze either. We love the loft area. Really happy we stayed at your resort. the cleaner/staff person was very lovely, loved the location as my friends kids birthday was at the pools across the road, will definitely be back next time we’re in Taupo.

only a couple things. the shower is loose & fell on my sons head & constantly fell down with a light accidental bump. stair way creaks loudly but seem stable. could use a 1 stover or burner to fry some eggs in the morning:)
