The location is great, I've stayed here before. Everything looks nice and clean and there are lots of chillout areas. Kitchen is also great in that aspect. I like the design, but it's a little cold and impersonal, especially the room. Could use some color. Staff was happy and lovely.

If you look a little closer, it's kind of unclean. I would have wished they cleaned the shower at the bottom of the walls and the ceiling from all the bugs and spider webs. The fridges also stink, stuff like that. Floor of the laundry room. It's the details I guess. Still had a great stay in a single room, again.

Large drawer underneath bed in 3bed dorm for storing belongings. Large clean bathroom with multiple toilets, sinks and showers, bath mats at showers, hair dryer. Several common areas. Large kitchen looked adequate tho I didnt use it. I was able to check in early and hang out in common areas after checkout due to afternoon bus. Next to food truck and short walking distance to everything. Staff promptly addressed my concerns with no cord to open/close window shade and housekeeping missing changing my linens.

Other guests as usual in hostels.

Location is good, as it is very close to the waterfront and there is a supermarket, creperie and coffee place next door. Toilets clean. Good hot showers. Drawer for storage under the beds. Access to the hostel is very easy, all sealed roads, right on the town’s main street. Walking distance to all the restaurants. They have an elevator 🙂 which was great as i was carrying heavy luggage.

4 bed dorm without much place to hang clothes, towels, or place your belongings, which is important when you’re travelling. The beds are comfier than bunks (no need to climb to get to the top bed) and the beds were already made on arrival, but they don’t provide any sense of privacy -that you get in other hostel dorms. This kind of bed disposition works best for groups that travel together. Pretty noisy room due to being by the main street. No off street parking. On street parking from 6pm. I had my motorcycle with me and we really dislike parking our bikes where we can’t see them and having it under the rain. Ended up parking in new world supermarket parking lot which i had a view to from my room window but was worried all night that they were going to tow it.

This accommodation was not our usual - it is a Hostel - but it was wonderful. We arrived late and I was sent clear instructions for entry after hours. The room was super clean and ours came with a private bathroom and linen provided. There is also a communal kitchen, lounge etc seperate to the bedrooms if you want to use it. All of it was lovely and clean - lots of neat people there too of all ages (retired Kiwis, overseas travellers - young and old). Location was perfect - no parking onsite but there was plenty nearby. The hostel is right next to the supermarket, a short stroll to the lake and town. Great coffee option just outside from 8am, and crepes - perfect way to start the day !!

I spent over 20 nights in New Zealand staying in hostels with similar pricing and ratings, but hands down, this one is the best! It stood out for its cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, and incredibly helpful service. I lost my AirPods during my stay, and the team not only contacted me to verify they were mine but even arranged to bring them to Queenstown with a staff member who happened to be traveling there. Their effort and thoughtfulness were truly above and beyond, and I deeply appreciate it!

Fantastic hostel, best that I stayed in during my time on South Island. Newly renovated so bedrooms were clean (room set up for 3 bedder is a bit odd - the end of my bed was directly touching the end of someone else's bed) and bathroom clean. Highlight has got to be location (right next to New World supermarket, 1min walk to the lakefront and resturants) and the kitchen facility (sparkling, huge and has everything you need). Wish I could've stayed here for longer.

The best hostel we’ve stayed in so far in NZ & Aus. Incredibly clean and comfortable. The spacious, clean and well equipped kitchen (milk and hot chocolate etc is so hugely appreciated) alongside the comfortable TV room were particular hits. We wish we had stayed an extra few nights! Special touch and big thank you to the man on reception who lent me his fleece for our hike - absolute gem. Will recommend highly to anyone who will listen! The hostel is the cherry on top to the beauty of Wānaka

The beds were a little close together, I was almost touching toes with a stranger.

I loved my stay at Wanaka. The Hostel is super nice. The kitchen is big and it's actually the better area to chill out then the chill out room haha. It has a TV room as well and just over all great. The location is excelent right next to a really good coffee shop and the lake is close by. The beds are really comfortable. And also you get a towel for the shower (really appreciated that).

Since the beds are "real beds" and not bunkbeds where you can draw the curtains usually, there wasn't as much privacy but I stayed in a three beds dorm so it was totaly fine.

We believe that The Brownston Wanaka is one of the best places where you can stay explore Wanaka and the surroundings. Excellent services, absolutely perfect cleanliness, adorable and friendly staff and generally an awesome + marvelous experience. Cooking in the shiny common spacious kitchen of The Brownston is an inspiring and delightful activity. Thanks a lot to Giovanni and the entire Brownston team for making our stay in Wanaka so comfortable and memorable :-)

Everything was perfect. Nothing to modify or add. Please keep up the already excellent work!

Everything about this hostel was really as pictured. Super clean facilities and great location. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I would have given it a ten if there had been some side tables and lamps in the rooms- but overally for the price it was really good value.

Not necessarily a bad thing, but it was really quiet and not super social (but we were there on Christmas so that might have something to do with it!)
