Good food, good and friendly staff.

They have charged extra for toothbrush and tooth paste which should be provided by the hotel complimentary.

As ever, the food at Al Falaj hotel was very good. I ate breakfast and my lunch every day at the hotel buffet, and there was a variety of choices for a non-meat eater. I also had a late evening flight to catch and was allowed to stay on site until I was ready to leave, which was really helpful. I will defeinetly be returning to the hotel again for another stay next year.

My airport shuttle service didn't turn up, and I felt that I had to arrange it all with the driver, rather than it be arranged by reception staff as previously booked last year. It was also a shame that 'Fish Night' and certain tours were no longer available. I didn't have a guide, so I relied on making visits I'd made last year to keep me occupied. Lastly, the taxi charges from the hotel were exceptionally high. it's better to see if you can catch a local taxi or use the bus services, which can take much longer to arrive at destinations. Overall, I was pleased with my stay and was upgraded to a better room.

Absolutely great place! Unbelievable quality, facilities and services for very affordable prices. The breakfast was just amazing, so many different options and all tasty. For four days of our stay, I was eating something completely different every day, and every day, it was great. There is a Japanese restaurant on the top level, which we learned is the oldest Japanese restaurant in Oman. There were local people coming there especially for it. The restaurant has a live cooking station. So you have a cooking show and can watch how your food us getting prepared directly in front of you. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. There is parking in front of the door, slots with shade were available as well.

Everything! and I felt all of the amenities and services came at a very good value for money. If you would like to spoil yourself in Oman for a good price (or at least it was so during our visit) for a few days, this would be a perfect pick. The Staff were also incredible! I remember Samir, the manager in charge, he and his staff had gone out of the way to make the visitors feel special. They also have a good Japanese restaurant at the top, and a bar from where you have a good view of the city.

There was just one experience that was unpleasant, the Sports bar at the ground floor. We had the misfortune to witness the rudeness of a staff there. I think she was Russian or something, I wouldn't like to generalize, but normally they are quite unpleasant in the hospitality sector, probably due to all the oppression by their dictators or who knows.. If you had the misfortune to run into her, please don't let it overshadow the kindness and the pristine hospitality skills of the other members at Al Falaj.

The hotel is easy to find, 5-10 min drive to Mutrah. The parking area outside is big and there is also shaded parking lots. The pool is good for some leisure time. Breakfast was delicious and more than enough. The staff is smiling and super friendly. They let us check in at 10 a.m as we arrived with an early flight. The grand mosque is about 15 km from the property, airport about 25 km. You need a car to go everywhere in Muscat, so we found the place a good one to discover Muscat. The rooms are not very big but still a decent size. It’s a good value for money.

The pool is large and gets sun all day, the gym is by far the best in muscat from all hotels I've stayed in including a number of 4+ star hotels. The gym staff are awesome! The sauna is effective and the hottub the best I've used, it actually has very strong jets that really do the job after a workout. The rooms were decent with black out curtains, strong wifi and a selection of pillows. The food was really decent and very reasonable in cost. This hotel for some reason has received some negative reviews of which are unfounded in our opinion. It's lovely and will be our go to option when staying in muscat. Breakfast is excellent, even had a fresh fruit juice option for free that you don't get in most 4 or 5 star hotels! Also food is not left uncovered like most hotels.

If they want to improve it would simply be a case of asthetics in certain areas but for us it should be at least a 4+ star already.

Overall service and welcome by staff was amazing. Staff was very quick in responding to request. Receptionist Sreeju and Staff James welcomed in a very good and professional way.

Tooth Paste, Slippers and Bath Towel were missing. Had to request. While making check out I was told by receptionist to wait, they want to check if I have used anything from minibar where as I had told her nothing is used.. After her verification I was told I MAY LEAVE NOW!!!!

Everything was excellent. Particularly enjoyed the heated pool at this time of year, accompanied by top class poolside service from attendant. Breakfasts are varied and delicious, featuring a different speciality each day. Staff are generally friendly, accommodating and highly polished in approach.

There was a reservation confusion with Booking.com and their Customer Services provided no help whatsoever. Fortunately, matters were immediately resolved by the hotel management as soon as they were informed.

the room was great (hsk was amazing) they cleaned our room perfectly.

it’s not that we don’t like it, just some feedback that when we went to breakfast we saw some staffs / manager (I think) that approached 1 of the guest, I think the guest was VIP or something so they just engaged with that guest . just feedback they should do the same for all guests . and also when we wanted to swim, our mistake we didn’t brought out swim wears. but I just heard that cotton is not allowed for swimming, I’m sorry for our less knowledge about it . another thing maybe can make more check out faster.

The hotel has excellent facilities. In addition to the main restaurant there is a British pub-style restaurant, a high tea restaurant, Japanese restaurant, Kebab restaurant and sports bar. There is also a swimming pool and a gym. I found the staff to be very helpful and my room was a generous size. I do not know what the standard room rates are, but personally, I got an fantastic hotel experience for a low price, so it was great value.

In terms of location, this hotel worked well for me, but I believe it may be less suitable for those without a rental car, as you would need to order a lot of taxis to get to places of interest. I would also suggest that the hotel sell barista-made coffee from the high tea restaurant as this would be very popular with Western tourists.
