I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Muscat Dunes hotel and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The hotel's ambiance was serene, offering a perfect retreat from the bustling city life. What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional service provided by the staff, particularly Nuk and Ploy. From the moment I arrived, they greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel welcomed. Their professionalism and attentiveness throughout my stay were truly commendable. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The dining options offered a variety of delicious dishes, catering to different tastes. The hotel's facilities, including the pool and spa, were well-maintained and provided a relaxing environment to unwind after a long day of exploring the city. Centra by Centara (despite it’s difficult name which kept confusing the locals) was a straight-forward budget style hotel in an ok location in Muscat. Taxi to the malls and som sights were 1OMR, toQuru. Beach area about 2OMR. The staff at the reception, especially Ms Najma and Ms Chella, were exceptionally friendly and helpful, offering tips on anything from the best taxi apps to mobile operators. The cleaner, Mr Jamil, was also very kind and I appreciated his flexibility: after a long day tour, I might have wanted to sleep in. He agreed to come after 6 pm. On another day I left very early and still found a clean room when returning at noon. The pool was nice, but sadly suffered from several maintenance issues. A tip: ask for a room facing away from the road. I had room 603, which had a great view of the nearby Mohammad Al Ameen Mosque. The sight was great especially at night, and I also enjoyed hearing the daily prayers.

Despite being a great place, the hotel had some shortcomings. It seems that the rooftop pool had some maintenance issues, so during my stay it was like three days open, five days closed, five days open, three days closed…etc. The breakfast had a very limited selection, not worth paying 2,500 when you have so many nice cafes right next door. The rooftop bar and restaurant were closed ‘due to the weather’, but it seems the weather had been bad for at least a couple of years ;) since the place was in shambles. It’s a shame as the location and layout would be perfect for a sunset viewing lounge and relaxation spot.

I am a frequent guest at this hotel, my first go to option when it comes to budget stays in Muscat. The stay at this hotel is absolute value for money. Location can be tricky for accessing public transportation but local taxis can be easily accessed. The washroom has amazing shower to refresh from a long day of work.

Hotel Car parking is limited, but hey, it is Muscat, street parking is almost free so who cares!

A good hotel for a night stay or a longer stay if work-related. If you have a car, the malls and other establishments are nearby. But around the area, there are a lot of establishments from coffee shops, restaurants, laundry shops to mini-grocery stores, etc. The online reservation staff helped arrange our booking. Our room today didn’t come with a mini kitchen but we liked it since we are just 2 guests and we stayed at night only we like our room because it’s a no-smoking area and the bed was big. The room was clean and I heard no noise unlike before. The WiFi now is faster.

The location of the property

Despite my prior request for an early check-in after a 16-hour flight, the reception was unable to accommodate me two hours before the standard check-in time, citing a lack of available rooms. Instead of offering a free upgrade, which is a common practice in the hospitality industry to ensure guest satisfaction, they provided an unrealistic excuse.

The location is perfect everything you want is near you, they do clean everyday, they provide you water each time they clean the room, fast wifi and the receptionist she was really good we told her that the AC wasn’t working well and then she gave us a larger room thank you so much.

I think the parking lot supposed to be bigger because sometimes we can’t find an empty spot other than that everything is good

Thank you for the very helpful Ms. Chookra (small girl with a beautiful smile) at NaNa Restaurant. Overall, we did enjoy our stay because of the friendly and helpful staff. An affordable place to stay when you need to stay for longer days and only at night.

Our room was quite dark since there was no natural light coming from the window. I didn't like the position of the closet beside the bed; it's not accessible. You could hear the noise from outside the room since there was a door gap between the floor. Breakfast is available past 7 AM. They prepared late. We didn't use the pool, I think it needed a good clean.

The lobby area was well-maintained and had a welcoming vibe. The room I stayed in was clean and well-kept, which is always a priority for me. the style and decor were not extravagant, they were functional and served their purpose. The bed in the room exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort. It provided a good night's sleep, allowing me to wake up feeling refreshed and ready for another day of adventures. The bathroom was clean and hygienic. It was well-maintained and appeared to have been thoroughly cleaned.
