The staff are super friendly and are happy to help with suggesting places to visit and to arrange tuk tuks for the right price. The pool is a good size and suitable for all ages / heights. The beach is long and palm tree lined, undeveloped and very rustic which means there's barely anyone there and the sunsets are fantastic! (be mindful there is lots of seaweed & the water is shallow). There are plenty of sun loungers and hammocks. The restaurant is homely with views of the beach and authentic meals. If you're a traveller that doesn't need luxury you'll love it here!

The resort is slightly out of the main San Juan town (the spring water park is the centre - recommended for a local experience but females should wear more than a bikini) meaning there's a 500m+ walk in either direction to other restaurants along a poorly lit semi-busy road. Thankfully their restaurant is reasonably priced with good food or you could get a tuk tuk.

Reading some reviews we expected way worse. The Staff was lovely Renting a scooter with the hotel was hassle-free Proximity to the beach Proximity to some nice restaurants (Mr. Sumo !!!) Yes there is no warm water but it wasn't a problem with such a heat. We had Wifi everywhere, no problem. The hotel help us booking a tricycle

Those bungalows have seen many winter and are worn out. They aren't fully sealed off from the outside so you can expect some visitors : flies, ants, geckos.... Pool could have been cleaner We might have got the nicer room as we saw other guests leaving due to the heat & insects. PS : not the hotel's fault but the beach is full of Sand flies at sunset, make sure to apply repellant

Lovely quiet resort with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was a problem for them, and they even gave us breakfast early on our last day as we had to leave at 7am. The pool is a lovely treat, and the garden is great to chill in - definitely leave time to while away a few hours reading a book in one of the hammocks! There's a restaurant at the hotel, or quite a wide selection within a 10-15 minute walk/quick tricycle ride away. Rooms have everything you need, are very clean (with cleaning offered daily) and the terrace is a great addition to chill on.

The Charisma is a nice place to switch off and relax. The complex is small and cute, the pool is clean and the employees and the boss are friendly and nice. The beach is beautiful and equipped with sun loungers and hammocks. The beach is only partially suitable for swimming because of the tides. The restaurant offers a good and sufficient menu and the food is good. Thank you for the hospitality and support. We can warmly recommend the Charisma. Best regards Luke and Laura

Right on the beach! Couldn't ask for anything better. Such a peaceful resort, friendly and helpful staff, close to lots of restaurants and cafes. On-site restaurants also available. Could rent scooters for cheaper than in town. Great pool for chilling. The room was big and spacious. Had 2 day beds on the deck which was so nice to just chill on. Bathroom is okay, cold shower.

We had a massive cockroach in the room. Ants were also a problem on the bathroom sink. But the room has wooden floors with openings and it's very tropical, so you can expect some unwanted visitors. We just spayed bug spray. No aircon, but ceiling fan and standing fan was more than enough.

The staff were lovely. The swimming pool was great.

The beach had a lot of plastic rubbish. The sand disappeared below the water line and became a silty mud, which extended out a long way. This shallow mud flat did not make it conducive for swimming. You need a tricycle to get anywhere.

Lovely resort with outstanding friendly staff. We arrived late in heavy rain enduring a 'brown out' (ie blackout). Staff, including lovely owner, had stayed up for us with emergency generator giving power to restaurant reception area, they offered us food drinks and a warm welcome. Power did come back on before the night was out. The room for the lovely the pool was beautiful most especially the owner was so helpful even drove us to restaurants. Beachfront which is lovely but not really for swimming. You'll get everything you need here and I'll look after you well.

Lovely place - great staff, very comfortable, lovely beach. The menu is small but everything I had was excellent - particularly the carbonara - and they make great Cuba libres. Lovely place just to slow down...really liked the beds in the porch and the hammock. They will organise scooter hire for you and although the water was v shallow so hard to swim, it's close to Paliton - and also walkable to several excellent restaurants.

Shame the sea isn't really swimmable :-(

Staff were friendly and always willing to help, location is excellent - right on the beach and plenty of weed free areas to swim, meals were always tasty

Like most Philippine buildings, there is a lack of maintenance. Nothing major, just little things like multiple lights in the restaurant area not working, the ceiling fan in our room only having low speed (the staff provided us with a standing fan), just little maintenance issues like that, whish is why I only gave an 8

Lots of breakfast choices and very beachfront! Perfect location if you want to go around the island. Staff is pretty accomodating to requests too!

The weather just didn't cooperate as it was windy, understandably it is usually what it is during those months
