Breakfast was nice a selection of cheese, ham, fruit, fresh bread and scrambled eggs on request. Hotel staff were superb: exceptionally friendly and helpful - impeccable service. Room was nice, fridge, comfy bed, good aircon, walk in shower. Balcony was a nice suntrap from 14:00 onwards and lovely to have the breeze on warm days, meandering it's way through the room. The hotel has a massive stock of wine, port and cheeses etc. We very much recommend sampling the port at the hotel. Location is superb, right in the heart of old town. Five minute walk to the bus and train station, public transport is cheap and affordable. Free pool table was in a nice room to play in. Loads of restaurants within a few minutes walk. Virtually everyone speaks some english. People in the Algarve are very friendly and helpful.

Not a bad point as such, just took me a day to get used to the layout and location of doors/keys.

Such an interesting property with the most beautiful touches, including a room with a piano, guitar, hi fi, vinyl records to indulge yourself. How can you imagine behind the front door there is a climate controlled wine cellar, the kindest staff, a beautiful dog, gorgeous pool. The food and wine are off the scale. We are foodies and have owned our own restaurant, so we know that good looks and tastes like. This was a treat evening and we in indulged in the four course menu. These guys must be missing a Michelin star. We took a wine flight of chef recommendations. It was exceptional.

Nothing at all

Beautiful guest house, owners & staff were so friendly & helpful. We loved our stay, we loved the breakfast experience & the owners catered very well for my gluten free husband which we really appreciated. Our bedroom & bathroom were spacious with lovely bedlinen, towels & toiletries. We enjoyed the port tasting with Pedro & would recommend doing that during your stay. If you want to stay in Faro, then look no further, we were super impressed with this amazing place. It is close to the old town, lovely restaurants & cafes plus great transport links.

Having to leave after 2 wonderful nights.

Awesome breakfast. The staff is really attentive and helpful. The location of the accomodation is great as it is close to the center but in a quiet street.

Our room (lemon tree) was advertised having a terace. However this can be misleading, as the "terace" is in the midle of the building and hence has no view. Also the room has only the terace door to open and no other windows that can be opened. Therefore the air quality in the room is poor.

Location was excellent, staff were brilliant and the property had a lovely intimate feel about it. It was a family run guest house and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and happy to help with any recommendations. The furnishings were lovely, the room was the perfect size for a couple. It was about a 5 minute walk to the marina. Toiletries included in the room. We booked a transfer to take us to the airport and staff took us. Couldn't recommend this property enough.

Minor matter but the Pillows - too soft/lumpy.

The hotel is well situated, within walking distance to the bus station and the ferry terminal. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Despite arriving at the hotel at 23:35 due to a delayed flight, they still managed to find us something to eat and drink. The owners knowledge of food and wine/Port is exceptional and their enthusiasm and willingness to share that knowledge trickles down to the staff

Nothing to complain about

I really thought this stay was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly, from check-in to check out. They were great in keeping in touch before our stay as well. A lot of information before arriving kept us well-informed. We also received a free upgrade - thank you very much. As for the breakfast offered by the Guest House - wow. They may not hand you a menu or call it a buffet breakfast, but it is an amazing spread. The table is full, and you have your choice of everything they offer. Definitely don't miss out on this. The room was great, and the property had a lot of common space if you felt like a night in. I highly recommend this location. Thanks.

Parking can be a bit tricky depending on the season and time of day.

Amazing property with a great vibe and very inviting. Rooms were great. We had 3 rooms. Our room had a large balcony going onto the pool area. John was so friendly and helpful In so many ways. He has amazing wine and port and is extremely knowledgeable. The breakfast was seriously amazing. We had dinner our first night and was the best dinner we had in Portugal in 4 days. Totally fresh seafood. Would highly recommend staying here. It’s a very special place. Will be back. Thanks to John and his wife!!!

I'm not a dog fan and the dog does wander about in the breakfast area. If you are vegetarian the breakfast isn't up to much unless you want sweet stuff. They knew I was vegetarian from day 1 but never made an effort to avoid. My husband had bread and cheese with ham or chorizo sandwich and I had nothing. The cheese plate got served with prosciutto on it, which doesn't bother me so much but I know a lot of vegetarians that would've not even ate the cheese as the board had meat on it.

The hotel has perfect location in the heart of Faro. Pedro and Gonzalo are really welcoming and super friendly hosts! They arranged private transfer for us from/ to the airport (but that could have worked better) and gave us very good suggestions what to do in the city. The nicest surprise for us was that we got an upgrade of the room. We have booked a simple room, but stayed at the luxury room with a huge terrace and jacuzzi bath tub. That was really nice clean spacious room with a big bathroom! We have also enjoyed breakfast although we would have appreciated to have also vegetables and eggs. But again, it was made from traditional Portuguese specialties, so why not :) Comparing prices to the local cafes, 15 Euro was really good deal - but the breakfast must be booked in advance. I definitely recommend this place.

A small thing, but the transfer cost is 20 Euro. We ordered it to save time and to avoid stress because we came only for 3 nights. Gonzalo was at the airport before our arrival and we were super relaxed on the way to the hotel. However, on the way back to the airport, he showed up 20 min late. While it is in generally not a big deal, we know that he was first at the hotel at the agreed time. But for some reason, he left for other customers, and we had to wait. He then apologized and took a short cut, and so he made it really quick to the airport. Everything went well at the end :)
