Amazing place! Perfect location (albeit on a massive hill) but what do you expect being in Madeira 🤣 we loved that you had access to a rooftop pool and another massive pool complex on the ground floor with access to the sea! We loved how clean and comfortable the rooms were (would recommend an ocean view room). Staff were always very helpful and even booked us a taxi and had it waiting for 3.45am to head back to the airport. Breakfast was amazing massive selection and they changed it up everyday so you weren’t eating the same thing.

We loved the room, the pool next to the sea, and restaurants. We only thought the restaurant and breakfast was way too expensive. Loved the spa. Breakfast at the pool restaurant was not great and a bit small.

The prices of the food at the restaurant and breakfast. Lot of super old people. So didn’t feel like we belonged here as 29 year olds. No dogs. Breakfast is pretty late if you want to hike.

We had two rooms: a city suite and an ocean room and were very happy with both. The suite looked directly onto the Savoy Palace and had two small balconies. There was a Nespresso machine with pods (ask reception for milk) in a large lounge. The bed was huge and very comfortable - we slept really well in both rooms. Both rooms had overhead, waterfall showers with an additional hand held shower and were very clean. The ocean room had a nicer view (towards the pool) but a higher floor would have been better - we were on the third floor. It was noisy if the windows were open - the air con only works if these sliding windows are locked closed, which is great to reduce energy consumption. The ocean room had a small kitchen area (no Nespresso machine). It is a very modern hotel using apps but at times, it wasn't easy getting information. When the 'chat' help wasn't replying, a note on the phone to state the number for Reception would have been helpful - we were given info when we checked in but you can't remember everything after a day of travelling. The pool had fresh water, giving it a green colour. There were plenty of sunbeds with towels provided. There is a platform from which to step/jump into the sea and is great for snorkeling. The platform was rather ugly and I'm surprised that Next haven't improved the aesthetics of it, to be more in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Because the hotel is in two parts, there is a bridge (over the road) joining them. There is also a rooftop pool and bar in the main building which has a chilled out vibe. The breakfast was superb and the breakfast staff were extremely efficient. The Next hotel is ideally situated for walking into the Old Town - we were very glad we didn't have to trek up the hill to any of the other hotels! I would definitely stay here again.

Information to be readily available, e.g. explaining that the doors have to be locked shut to work, reception phone number, the chat function in the app to be answered in good time.

The location to the main center was great. Easy walking distance and along the promenade. My room was the perfect size for me and I had paid for a sea view and got it. I was on the 8th floor and loved being able to hear the ocean at night time. My room was cleaned well and they gave options on how often you wanted it cleaned. All staff were friendly and helpful. The gym was a good size and I loved having direct sea access for a swim. Having two options for the pool and to have drinks on the roof terrace was lovely. I used the bus network to explore and also get to and from the airport. Lots of good food options around and in the main center. Madeira does Christmas well.

The pillows are quite soft and I prefer a medium to firm pillow. I would suggest that alternatives are available. Other than a couple of other things which I informed at checkout that did not bother me but possibly would someone else I had no other issues or concerns or dislikes.

Great location, we had a lovely room with ocean view. Everyone was friendly and happy to help. We loved that we had access to the sea, you could easily get fresh beach towels and the staff kept the area immaculate. We tried the Recharge bar/restaurant for cocktails and food and were really pleased with the experience. The rooftop has beautiful city and sea views, quite spectacular at night with great atmosphere.

Breakfast could be somewhat a bit more varied throughout the week. Rooftop bar closed 1h earlier than advertised on a busy Saturday and refused to serve us whilst it was full of other guests enjoying their cocktails with the amazing view, sadly left a bitter taste to the end of our stay.

Clean. Friendly staff who could speak English. Excellent facilities. Ocean room fantastic. Fab balcony. Great location to town and marina. Breakfast outstanding. Excellent and fast Wi-fi, easy to connect.

One moan - kettle provided in room but tea/coffee teabag/sachet had to be purchased at bar!!! At least one complimentary each person could have been provided!!

the price of the room should not be on your bill if the room has already been paid for i found this to be confusing,

We had the Ocean Studio with an amazing view. Very spacious room, good equipped. Perfect pool area with entrance to the sea. The food at the pool restaurant is really good, very good quality. Roof top bar with a small pool is also nice to visit once at least because of the great view. The stuff at the reception was awesome. The price for a parking space is €10.- per day which is absolutely fair. The spa is excellent, when you book a massage, ask for Maria (She is awesome). We will be back for sure but than we will book without breakfast.

The breakfast and the stuff there. The breakfast area is absolutely not worthy a four star hotel. It is noisy, chaotic and looks like a canteen in company. The food there is also nothing special and also no good choices. It fits absolutely not to the rest of the hotel. The vacation feeling will be gone for the time you are taking breakfast.
