The location is perfect for exploring Funchal. Not far from the city center and the ocean, however, the weather was not good for swimming, so I am not sure if that beach is suitable enough for that. The hotel is near the bus stop, so it's easy to get there. The room is not so big, but for one person it was perfect. I think it will work for a couple as well. The view from the room is amazing. Also, there was an option to use swimming pools, sauna, and hammam in the hotel building nearby, which belongs to the same hotel group. The team is very friendly and helpful.

It would be good to have slippers for use in the hotel room. And hair dryer was not powerful enough, so it took some time to get the hair done (it looks also pretty old and used much, so needs an update)

Nice hotel room, with good facilities, in a good location with many stores and restaurants closeby. The staff is friendly and helpful and the views from the room quite lovely. The bathroom is also well equipped. We enjoyed the sun on the balcony. We also loved the view from the rooftop of the sister hotel (Pestana Casino park), where we had access to the pool. We didn't swim, as it was 20 degrees, but the view was lovely, especially before sunset.

They are stingy with the toilet paper and the trash bags, which seems strange for a 4 star hotel. Just use trash bags for the bins! Also I saw a few ants in the kitchen area. Parking is neither free nor guaranteed so we had to park at the casino for 9 euros per day, but unfortunately I don't think free parking is common in central Funchal.

I really liked the hotel. Great location, everything is perfectly clean, beautiful room design. But special thanks to the hotel staff, everyone is very friendly and always ready to help. We were greeted with a smile every day, they were ready to help and advise on any issue. The hotel has a small swimming pool. The room has a small kitchen, it is possible to make tea or heat food, it is very convenient. Excellent noise insulation, cozy balconies with incredible views. There is an opportunity to use all the advantages of a large hotel of this chain located nearby. There is a luxurious park, a casino, beautiful swimming pools, and live music every evening. This hotel exceeded our expectations and left only good impressions, primarily thanks to the hotel staff. An additional advantage was the ability to pay for the hotel after the arrival (not all hotels in Madeira accept this way), since we are from Ukraine and for reasons known to everyone, we did not have the opportunity to transfer funds for the trip beforehand, and we were not sure that we would be able to travel, so the ability to cancel the reservation it has been important for us .Thank you.

Excellent location although a bit of noise gets through during the night. Very clean. Compact but good storage. Very good that we could access the nearby linked hotel amenities.

Kitchenette very poorly equipped. I have never stayed in any studio so poorly equipped - not even a corkscrew or wine glasses. No knife or chopping board for cutting bread or salad. Nothing to use with the pans provided to make a simple egg breakfast or salad lunch. We had to buy paper cups when we had 2 friends round for a drink !!!!! Not worthy of a 4 star in this respect.

I found the location perfect for us as we took leisurely walks into the town centre, Lido area and sea promenade. There were a few bus stops nearby too. The room that we finally stayed in was on the ground floor facing the pool and we really liked it. Breakfast at the adjacent Pestana Casino Park Hotel was very good with plenty of choses as well as the facilities. We didn't cook or used microwave in the room but liked having the little fridge to keep our drinks and snacks cool. Wi-Fi signal was intermittent at times but generally was quite strong. We liked the beds that weren't too soft. Reception and housekeeping staff were very nice and friendly.

We had to ask for a different room as in the one we were given initially (5013) water in the shower didn't drain properly and shower head was broken, the second room we were offered (5002) had the same issue with the water drainage. In the room that we finally stayed in (1007), we could occasionally see some ants on the kitchenette worktop.

Great that you can use the only hotel facilities as well as the studio ones

Breakfast was amazing and long working hours, but watch out for "the hungry seagull". Staff is friendly and helpful and a good location for the hotel with reasonable priced parking. Surprisingly are all the 5* hotels facilities included.

We sadly had the room right next to the reception/entrance so we could hear everything there were said in the hallway and doors smacking. Could have been solved by a soundproof door. Outdoor pools are cold, and a shame the rooftop pool closes early.

Colourful, vibrant rooms. Facilities are good. Our flight was delayed, we only arrived after midnight and were able to check at the neighbouring Pestana Casino hotel. Customer service is excellent. Iolanda (the receptionist) was lovely to deal with. Whilst house keeping gave us a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was at the 5* Pestana Park & Casino, which was a great bonus. View was wonderful. I’d recommend the place and would stay there again.

The only thing I’d say could be better is the comfort of the mattress. It was on the firm side. It wasn’t terrible but not great either. Holiday Inn or Premier Inn have got better and more comfortable mattresses and cost 2-3 times less per night.

We had a lovely apartment with sea view on the 3rd floor. Comfortable, quiet, clean. Fantastic shower. Staff very helpful especially Helena. We had breakfast in the Hotel Casino Park each morning and it was excellent. Would highly recommend this studio apartment. Close to the town center. The restaurants across the road are very good too.

Nothing about the apartment, but beware the little Kiosk advertising tours in the grounds of the Casino Park. Their prices are very cheap but it's because they reel you in to except a time share promotion for Pestana group. Fine if that's what you're into, but avoid it if not.
