Staying at Vila Teresinha was definitely good value for the money! The hosts are welcoming, friendly, funny and they also make sure you don't leave for a hike without a huge breakfast customized to your needs (coffee/tea, multiple egg options, fresh fruit salad, cookies and freshly baked bread/croissant you can smell from the terrace at 7.30 in the morning!). The room was sparkling clean and was cleaned every day. I was lucky enough to book one with a balcony, so I could enjoy a wonderful Sunrise every morning before breakfast and an awesome view to the downtown and the marina. The facilities were more than enough for my needs - water cooker & fan in the room, fridge, microwave & cutlery in the hallway. The bed was comfortable. The location is also excellent; very close to the city center, but the neighborhood is quiet. Everything is within walking distance; shopping center La Vie, municipal garden, taxies etc... 5 minutes, main bus station, cable car, old town within 20-25 minutes.

This is not a critique, but rather just a tip: if you stay here in August / September, head over to La Vie and get some bug repellent, because the mosquitoes don't respect your privacy and - despite the closed curtains - they keep coming in. 😃 The place itself is top-notch and there's nothing to mention here.

Simple and super clean room with a great terrace. Great location and lots of parking spots right in front of the accommodation. Parking was paid but it was really cheap (around 0.60€/hour) and free at night between 20h and 8h.

Excellent breakfast

We found out the day before departure that there was a bus service during the day which dropped off more or less outside the guest house - it would have been useful to know before.

The friendly, helpful hosts made me feel at home. Great breakfasts. Simple but spotless room which was cleaned daily. Access to a lovely terrace, a microwave and a fridge. Sea views. The location is quiet, with a nice mix of locals and visitors. It's close to the English Church (worth checking out the concerts) and the nearby restaurants are relaxed and friendly. It's a few minutes walk from La Vie, which has a good supermarket downstairs, and 10 minutes from Marina Shopping which is a favourite pick-up point for island tours and levada walks. For me, it was ideal, and I'd certainly go back.

I have to mention the TV sitting on top of the wardrobe and not really any use there! I didn't try to use it and I didn't miss it anyway. Sitting outside in the evening, I got a few midge bites, nothing much but I'd bring repellant next time.

Had a lovely stay here. Delighted with the location so close to everything. Literally 5 mins from La Vie shopping centre if you need anything. Less than 10 mins to the centre and a great selection of restaurant options. The location is a huge bonus if you are about town you can come and go throughout the day. As a solo female i always felt safe in the area. Had a lovely balcony with beautiful views and sunrises that I really enjoyed. Hosts were kind and friendly and the place was spotless. Kettle in room which was great and use of fridge Great value for money. An authentic, welcoming experience, old style but for me exactly what i needed. A quiet comfortable stay

The only small issue is hot water in shower, from time to time, it always came on but you needed to let it run for a few minutes

A favorable accommodation offer close to the city center and main attractions. The breakfast is rich, quite sweet (jams, fruit, a different cake every day), but vegetables are served on request (tomatoes, cucumbers). Rice and corn waffles for people on a gluten-free diet were a nice gesture. Very good communication, e.g. precise directions on how to get from the airport to the guesthouse

The ocean view room has a window onto the shared terrace, which can be a bit disturbing in the evening. Moreover, the room is quite dark.

It was first time for myself and my friends visiting a beautiful island of Madeira. We wanted to explore this place as much as we could so we decided to split our stay between two locations. We knew that our first stop is going to be Funchal - capital city. After some accomodation search we've decided for family-run guest house Vila Teresinha. The reviews were excellent, price very resonable and location perfect (5 min walk from Funchal's centre). Once we arrived to Vila Teresinha the owners accomodated us very quickly. When we walked into our room we could noticed immediately that our room was super clean a cosy. That was just the beginning of even better surprise which was the sea view balcony. The view was really impressive!!!! Next day we were really looking forward to have a breakfast not knowing what to expect. When we walked into dining room once again we could see how well and claen the owners keep the place. The owners were making breakfast for us which I found very nice a personal. They made sure that our rooms are clean and beds made. One of our friend stayed in different accomodation where she wasn't really happy with her breakfast so she asked the owners of our place if it would be possible to have breakfast with us. Without any doubt they agreed and prepared place for her to eat too - just for 5€!!!! She was really amazed how nice and well presented the breakfast was. We really enjoyed our stay in Vila Teresinha and if you are looking for some place which is more customer orientated with very personal touch of nice owners don't miss your chance and book your accomodation here!!! The properly is located in the city center but not on the main street which makes it perfect as it is really quiet. The location has a terrace as well, available for all the rooms which has a great view of the harbor. The rooms were tidy and cleaned everyday. Also, the continental breakfast was perfect each day. The hosts are very nice and can help with additional info of the main attractions. This is the perfect spot for who wants to enjoy a good location, with a great value for money but aren’t looking for luxury.

Our recent stay at this pension was truly delightful, The pension offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a great choice for those seeking a comfortable stay.We opted for an upgrade to enjoy a balcony with a sea view, and it was well worth it. However, what pleasantly surprised us was the free access to a common balcony where we could relish a terrace with an equally superb view. The owners of the pension are kind and hospitable. They take the time to ensure their guests have a memorable stay. One highlight was the breakfast – the owners personally prepare a comprehensive spread that caters to various tastes. Despite the official breakfast start time being 8:00, the owners graciously accommodated our request to have breakfast 15 minutes earlier, allowing us to embark on a day trip and catch our flight with ease. The pension's central location is another notable feature. It provides convenient access to key attractions, making exploration of the surroundings a breeze.

The residence is a bit old and some stuff need refurbishment but nothing serious
