Breakfast was good, there was enough variety We were on the 4th floor which was were the pool and an area with some sunbeds were and it was really convenient and lovely. We could see the sunset from there. Room itself was spacious and comfy. We were able to park the car in the garage in the same building which was accessed with the elevator. The location was good too - 30 min walk from the centre of Funchal but we chose that on purpose to have a good access to all of the hiking paths around (without going through traffic).

The beds were OK. Not the most comfortable beds I have encountered, could be better.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this property booked through Booking.com. The exceptional service, comfortable accommodations, and attention to detail made it a standout experience. I particularly enjoyed the swimming pool at this property, and the rooftop pool's stunning views added a fantastic dimension to my overall experience.

The gym closes earlier that expected especially that I’ve turn late after my trip around the island.

Very nice modern hotel in the middle of everything. Airport bus stops just in front of the hotel. Very comfortable room with beautiful view. Many restaurants are in this area. Car rental is just downstairs. We had everything we needed. The blackout curtains were useful and the window has a very good sound isolation.

The glass wall and door of the bathroom and toilet does not offer enough privacy. The room was clean enough but could have been cleaner (top of the television or under the bed, dust from the last 2 years...). Breakfast choice was very good, but on the 4th day you wish some more variety.

The hotel was nice, a little far from the centre (45 min walk) but it wasn't a bad walk. It was also close to bars and restaurants and not far from the beach front. The hotel staff were friendly. They had good vegetarian options at breakfast.

One of the lifts was out of service, we were on the 7th floor and there was always a long wait time for it to arrive. Our key card stopped working twice. The bathroom door was also glass and it was facing the door so not ideal.

- Only two lifts in the building, and one was out of service during our stay which meant occasionally waiting up to 5 minutes for the lift. - Restaurant for breakfast has no windows (eg. no sunrise / natural light) - Bathrooms seemed a bit outdated compared to the rest of the room / building.

The hotel is clean and comfortable, the view is amazing (sea and sunset view), the breakfast has very good quality with fresh local products and a good variety. It is located just 20 min walking distance from the center of Funchal and close to supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The staff is super helpful and ready to solve all your problems. Definitely recommend Vila Baleira to anyone that wants to stay in Funchal.

Personally I would prefer king size beds instead of 2 single beds together and I would recommend to the hotel to add the room service menu to the room as well as to check the room phone connection.

Absolutely fabulous hotel, we had a great time! The staff is extremely friendly, they have done their best to make us feel comfortable. The rooftop-pool is amazing, we really enjoyed it. The location is very nice, there are several restaurants and bars close by. Also the bus to take you to the city or to a beach stops on the corner.

A good location with quite a few shops and cafes in close proximity and in 20 minutes walk to the city centre. Airport buss stop nearby. Relatively wide selection in breakfast. Eggs, bacon, etc., fruit and cupcakes.

The room was not 100% clean when checking - dust on the floor below the table, stains on windows and in the bathroom. One (of two) elevators was not working during the whole stay. Roof bar didin't work.

Spacious bedroom and bathroom, a kettle and a hair dryer were available in the room. The hotel features a cosy lobby with a bar, a rooftop pool and a tiny gym. The staff were friendly and helpful. A good location with quite a few shops and cafes in close proximity and in 20 minutes walk to the city centre.

Small issues: - the table lamp did not work - the hybrid table/shelf is rather inconvenient to use as a table

Due to weather conditions, our flight was diverted to Tenerife and we had to wait a day for the situation to calm down. We were in contact with the hotel staff from the beginning and they held our reservation even though we didn't check in on the agreed date. We appreciate their customer-oriented approach in this situation.
