We, a family of 3 and a dog, spent 4 worderful days at Hotel Casa Palmela. This wonderful property is set amongst picturesque lanscapes and vines near Setubal. The hotel itself is very beautiful and very well maintained. It has 2 swimming pools, one is more like for quiet rest of adults and the other one is more for splashing with kinds and it is bigger. We surely used the bigger one more. We also liked our room with a little terrace very much, the room had a very cosy and home feeling. The breakfast was good, filling and it was good variety for us. A few words should be said about hotel restaurant for lunches and dinners: the food is really awesome. very tasty, prepared by chef with the use of light hints of African notes. We enjoyed it very much and had all our dinners in the hotel. The sunset view from the terrace of the restaurant is also gorgeous, second to none!

I think I would add more options for lunch at the hotel restaurant. As mentioned above: the level of dining is fantastic, but I think menu could have a bit more variety, especially for lunch.

The food, the variety at breakfast are exceptional, and ordered so delightfully. The landscape is mesmerizing, and the restaurant opens up to that picturesque delight. The dinner is elegant and so tasty, serving something also for vegan. The beds are comfy, not too soft, and the room is spacy and in style of the old mansion, well kept and clean. Took a horseback ride in the vineyard olives and cork trees, made my heart light and in joy.

Casa Palmela is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature away from the touristic busy spots. The decoration is superb and you feel like staying at a landlord house. The domain is huge and you can have long walks in the forest or between vineyards. The food is great with good selection of Português wines.

dinner time can be chaotic

The room was very comfortable with both a sitting area inside and a balcony overlooking the vineyard. The queen canopy bed was extremely comfortable with excellent pillows and linens. I also enjoyed the claw foot soaking tub in the very large bathroom. This room and hotel exceeded my expectations.

The hotel was renovating the kitchen so dinner was not available on 2 of my three night stays. This was quite disappointing as I did not want to travel into Setubal for my meals.

Every member of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special. In the restaurant Joao and the chef went out of their way to make a special plate of food for us. At reception, each and everyone of the staff helped us with directions, restaurants etc.

front desk staff are very friendly. we have been upgraded as we were travelling with our dog. the rooms are big and very confortable. there are two pools. the bar is a bit slow.

the restaurant is overrated. prices are too expensive. the staff recommends a wine from the vinard at 5-7€ the glass but the bottle is 3€ in the supermarket and not comming from the hotel vineyard. this was very dissapointing. they could just have been honest. The restaurant manager was always making critics to the staff in front of the customers. He always had something rude to say about his own staff wich made the diner unappreciable.

This property is a beautifully appointed traditional Portuguese homestead on a picturesque vineyard setting in a national park. It is simply gorgeous The people are the best, they are so friendly and helpful, warm and friendly. It really felt very homely. The pools are fantastic, very quiet and peaceful. The rooms and bathrooms are classy and tastefully appointed. The guests are so international and all very warm and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for couple and families alike!

Location was fantastic, surrounding views and trials were beautiful. The pool was really good and our 2 year old had a great time.

No day time lunch menu. We had our young daughter and with no lunch menu it meant we needed to leave the property. Not a massive issue but we only had 2 nights and wanted to make as much use of the facilities as possible

Casa Palmela is a magical place. The grounds, vinyerds are stunning. Staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, relaxing. Our room was spacious bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was huge. We only stayed one night. I wish we stayed more time.

Nothing our stay was perfect

great location, we did not have the best room - many rooms have an outdoor terrace but because we had 2+1 rooms we stayed upstairs. room were large though and well set up. my daughter loved the horse riding with Pedro.

outdoor dinner and breakfast had capacity issues so we had to sit inside a couple of times. hotel furniture is quite old fashioned, feels outdated in some areas
