Excellent value for the money. The hotel is situated in a historic building in the centre of the city, within walking distance from many of the main tourist attractions. Within walking distance to the Old Town. Also situated minutes away from two metro stations. The room was spacious and furnished following the style and historical context of the building. Air conditioning is also provided in the room. The room came with a balcony. Breakfast can be provided. The check-in desk is staffed 24 hours a day.

The main gate to the hotel is only opened remotely from the check-in desk.

The hotel is very charming and has original (and period) decoration. We had a very large room with places to sit and a lovely terrace. The location is, if I'm honest, a bit far from the old town/centre (20 min walk) so you aren't right in the mix, but there is another mini-neighbourhood nearby across the main street and north a bit which has many modern (and not touristic) bars that I don't think you would see if you stayed in the old town. Bucharest is a bit spread out anyway so you should be prepared to take a taxi or two. The staff were perfectly helpful and friendly. No problems with noise at all. Nearby supermarket. Decent breakfast but it is a small hotel (not full when we were there) so it wasn't "abundance" but it was perfectly filling and I suspect that when the hotel is in high season the situation would be abundant.

Our bathroom was cold, but we got a little heater and that solved the problem. If you want to be right in the centre of everything, there might be somewhere else better for you.

The location is excellent, very close to the metro station and within a short walk of the Old Town and all the major attractions. It's not IN the Old Town which is a big advantage because the room was very quiet at night. The design of the hotel was gorgeous, with heavy, comfortable furniture and lots of details. It was a pleasure for the eye. The room was large with a comfortable bed and armchair for reading. The breakfast was excellent - continental style. Not a lot of choice (but that's how we like it because it prevents waste) and mostly suitable only for vegetarians, not for vegans, but we were very satisfied with the quality of the food. The staff was absolutely lovely and very accommodating with great English skills.

The room was missing a kettle and tea for a quick cuppa in the evening. Other than that, everything was great.

Centrally located but not on the central, busy/noisy road. Very big and beautiful room, for the price it exceeded our expectations! Air conditioning, shower etc all worked perfectly (unlike on neighboring hotels from what I read on other reviews). Short walk to many sights, restaurants, cafes etc. Comes highly recommended from us!

It was absolutely no problem for me, just a note for older/disabled etc people, the building is quite old and charming, so there's no elevator. As I said, absolutely no problem for me, just a note for other people that cannot do without one.

Wonderful place and super nice and helpful people! The room was superb: spacious, nicely (and lavishly) decorated, with super comfortable huge bed, big wardrobe. There is a balcony - great place to spend evenings. Hotel provides common spaces as well - there is a bar, nice lobby and backyard. The location is perfect. It is close to the metro, the all-purpose store is 3 minutes' walk just as coffee shop and pastry shop. Hip restaurants/gardens are also within a 10-minute walk (eg. Verona). Definitely recommend this place!

This is one of the magnificent places we been to, In the Romanian castles atmosphere it was just the perfect place to stay in I highly recommend this place!

Our room was very nice, BUT! we had no body mirror or even any mirror at the room (there was only small one at the entrance, but I had to use the Lobby room whenever I wanted to get out and it was inconvenient. I would highly recommend the hotel anyway, but this comment is mainly for the owner- I think this is basic and important Thank you!

Perfect location with grocery store and cafes right across the street - quick walk to stunning 19th century grand architecture. Wonderful welcome, details clear, superior room large with incredibly beautiful bathroom. Quiet view from balcony over lovely courtyard. Phenomenally talented front desk man (beard, glasses, and terrific English) with fascinating conversation, knowledge of the city and great doses of humor thrown in. The breakfast was one of the highlights:. a cheerful gentleman offering hot ham, eggs, coffees; beautifully presented rows of European breakfast items; breads, cookies, rolls, croissants; delicious tea, cheeses and jams. Love the historic/renovated look - clearly much thought went into this gem. We oddly landed a very low rate online for such an experience. Our front desk man helped us store luggage, helped carry everything, and even gave us a warm farewell opening the door for us at the end. We were sad to go! When in Bucharest I recommend this property with great enthusiasm!

Absolutely no complaints...everything was stunning top to bottom. The AC worked perfectly, water pressure was lovely, brilliantly clean and though easy walk to everything it was peaceful there...thank you!

The staff were fantastic, putting great care and effort to make breakfast a great start to the day, helping with any enquiries and booking cheap local taxis to get about. Chatty, friendly and professional service. The place is absolutely spotless, not a spec of dust, in such ornamental surroundings this is not easy to maintain, clearly cleanliness is maintained with pride. The location is excellent, quiet and set back from the noise but also a stones throw from many monuments and points of interest, less than 10 mins walk to the many bars of the cobbled streets in the Old Town, 5 mins from great restaurants, walking distance to many parks and attractions and easy to commute to local places if interest, with metro, trams znd buses all a stones throw also. Our room was incredible, the unexpected spa bath and also a balcony off the enormous bathroom were a most welcome surprise! We had an excellent stay here, thank you so much Scala Boutique!!

Only negative was the mattress protector, though understandable, there are better ones available that don't feel like a layer of plastic between bedsheet and mattress. With such luxurious and decadent decor it was out of place, noisy each time you move and not so comfortable to sleep on. Also no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, though again this is understandable due the the antique furnishings.

The vintage style it’s just absolutely gorgeous

The shower doors where falling, maybe a little change won’t be bad, and there was a heat issue. The radiators weren’t hot, nobody knew why. The others radiators in the hotel were working, only ours in the last floor weren’t. We had though an air conditioning that was making heat, we left the card in the room and the machine was working non stop for 3 days 😅
