Relaxing family break. Beautiful fluffy towels, pristine bathroom, comfy beds with beautiful crisp clean sheets & fresh milk for tea delivered each morning in a little thermos churn. The owner couldn’t do enough to help accommodate two lively 10yr olds & an active independent 18th old! Lovely views of the surrounding countryside within easy reach of shops & restaurants.

Adriana gave us as warm a welcome as ever. She made us feel instantly at home. The bedroom was quiet and very comfortable as was the ensuite bathroom. The meals exceeded our expectations. Her husband is a fantastic chef. The dinner was one of the tastiest for a long time, delicious cheese souffle starter, fish and meat dishes perfectly cooked great veg, and nice pudding. Breakfast was equally amazing, huge choice of all the usual plus three fish dishes and home baked croissants. Everything is home made , lots of little amuses bouches and extras, nice chocolates and full tea and coffee and hot chocolate making facilities in the room with fresh milk , two bottles of water, the attention to detail was superb and we look forward to paying a return visit . The location is beautiful too and you can walk out to Kingston Maurwood and to Thorncombe wood from Yalbury and leave your car, and be immersed in nature instantly.

We loved everything.

The accommodation was lovely and the staff brilliant, happy and helpful. The place was situated in a lovely quiet place. The food at this place was beyond my expectations. I thought it would be more like standard b&b fare. Instead what came out was well crafted, well presented excellent food. Easily the equivalent of some excellent restaurants I have been to previously. A great find after a long day at tank fest. Totally reinforced my convictions to shun chain hotels and go to these amazing well run independents.

Beautiful setting, quiet and relaxing. Bedrooms clean and adequate - liked how supplied free bottled water and tea/coffee selection good. Lovely view from bedroom. Breakfast superior - good quality, delicious food with excellent selection and displayed like a photo shoot. Staff very friendly and helpful. Outdoor area/garden pretty and sits nicely in location. My only regret is we couldn’t stay for Sunday lunch - even our taxi driver commented it was the best in the area. We will return and recommend to friends

The room was large, clean and very tastefully decorated. We didn't have any meals during this visit but we did travel with a dog which this was no issue and she was welcomed as equally as we were! This is my second stay at Yalbury Cottage and I would come back again. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful with letting us know about nearby walks.

Only one small comment, in these days of sustainability, is that it would be preferable not to have plastic cups for water in the room.

To be honest, everything. The staff members were extremely nice. The bed and room was amazing and better than what we were expecting. The common area was just beautiful and had an amazing view.

Nothing. The only thing I could mention is that we spotted some spiders inside the room which isn't really a major thing as we believe having spiders in a room is really a good sign and they keep it clean from other insects. However, some other people might not think the same.

The room was very good, clean, and nice outlook over the garden. The offer of fresh milk left at your door early each morning was very impressive.

Breakfast was disappointing. No self service to cereals or coffee. Main coffee pot was almost empty, so not offered any more coffee as we were last in restaurant. Toast was cold. Not good value for money. Dinner, again, not good value at £65 for 3 courses! Presentation was good, but not enough in portion, so you needed to eat three courses.

Lovely quiet, good sized room with countryside views. Very clean. Comfy bed. Staff efficient and polite. Lots of efforts to be environmentally friendly, which we loved. We were able to sit outside for a pre-dinner drink, in the beautiful sunny garden. Evening meal was amazing!! Hubby says should have a Michelin star. I have multiple food allergies and intolerances - I let them know in advance and they prepared a special menu for me with 3 choices for each course. Food was delicious, interesting and beautifully presented. Couldn't fault the food in any way. Breakfast was also exceptional. Would definitely stay here again.

Would have been nice if the guy who served our drinks had smiled, but he was not impolite.

Beautiful cottage in the countryside with excellent views, only 5 minute drive from Dorcester and the Tank museum in Bovington. Staff are amazing and can't do enough for you. The room was spacious and clean, with fresh towels in the bathroom. Lovely added extra are the chocolate brownies in the room and the bottles of fresh water. We did not dine at the cottage however the food smelt amazing as we passed the kitchen. Looking forward to returning again sometime on the future.

Toilet in bathroom took a little while to flush but no big deal, certainly didn't spoil our stay.

This place was by far one of the best and nicest places we have had the pleasure of staying. It truly is idyllic as it looks. In such a quiet little haven. The hosts were absolutely smashing. Nothing was a problem at all for them. Our daughter had the best time here and was made to feel very welcome and made a new friend for life there 😃. I would like to extend my personal thanks to everyone at the Yalbury Cottage for helping to make a small and memorable stay. The cottage is immaculate and you can tell a lot of love and care goes into the cottage the grounds are superbly kept. The room was of ample size, comfort and cleanness. It's a straight five stars from us thank you once again.
