It really is a beautiful hotel, location was great and staff were excellent.

AC just didn’t work well. They did upgrade us to a nicer room which was appreciated but that room also didn’t have adequate ac. Didn’t want to bother the staff again so we just kept window open until right before bed to cool it down but still tended to get hot. The other item that could use serious improvement is the television. It’s small and only has a couple of English channels - and not good ones. We don’t travel to watch TV but do like to watch a bit before going to sleep so something like Netflix at least wouod be appreciated.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bristol Palace Hotel in Genoa, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. It’s within walking distance of key attractions. Rooms: My room was spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated with a blend of classic and modern touches. Service: The staff at Bristol Palace were outstanding—friendly, professional, and always eager to assist. Whether it was recommendations for local restaurants, arranging transportation, or ensuring my stay was comfortable, their commitment to guest satisfaction was evident. Dining: The hotel’s breakfast buffet was an absolute treat, with a wide selection of fresh, high-quality options to suit every palate. Atmosphere: Staying at Bristol Palace feels like stepping back in time, with its opulent decor and unique ambiance, yet it also offers all the modern conveniences you could need. It’s a perfect blend of charm and comfort. Overall, my stay at the Bristol Palace Hotel was nothing short of extraordinary. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Genoa, whether for business or leisure. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience in itself. I can’t wait to return!

This hotel is set in a historic building in the center of Genoa, near to Piazza De Ferrari, Cattedrale di San Lorenzo, Cristopher Colombus' birth house, and all the other historic sites. The rooms are decorated with classical furnishings matching the building's interior. The staff is very engaging and helpful.

Facilities provided are not adequate for a 5-star hotel - the coffee in the room is instant Nestle with boiling water from a kettle, the shower head design and the whole bathroom layout is awkward, soundproofing could be better, and the effort signing in to the WIFI is a joke. It seems impossible to adjust the temperature in the room. Certain egg selections for the otherwise good and plentiful breakfast cost extra.

The character of the building is mirrored in the professionally handling and very appropriate manner of the staff. Even as I ran late to give the Portier my Car to let him park it in their Garage (which is phenomenally Kind of them, to still worship the old manners), and could not use my paid and safe parking spot, they checked all data and provided me a kind of voucher for the unused service. Even the Staff which was not confronted with this direkt interaction, knew about the situation and had a very delightful manner towards me and all other guests. Special thanks to the Housekeeping, they are around from 8 AM to 8 PM if I remember correctly. Don’t forget to at least give them a tip once in your stay, same as Service, Portier, Reception and other Staff members. The room, bathroom, the building itself, the staff at the reception and the valet. They were very kind and helpful, sharing their insight in terms of restaurants (not the touristic ones). Breakfast was great too! I loved that everything was clean and well maintained.

The bar was extremely unpleasant, cold, horrible furniture, bright light, and most important, the barman did not show up for almost 10 minutes waiting there. He has to be called by somebody on the phone to come and check if there are people. It is not a bar and the wrong expectations are set from the hotel website.

The food was delicious. A beautiful and plentiful breakfast buffet laid out each day. We ate in the restaurant one night which was very good if a bit quiet but fine for us. Very comfortable beds and we had good nights sleep. We liked the grandiose feel of the hotel as we came in and the stairway. Very conveniently located for everything, near the metro and very central.

The handle in the shower on the wall seemed badly placed so every time we turned around, it got knocked and turned off or went cold which is why I marked it 9 instead of 10. But in the grand scheme of things this is a minor issue.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Bristol Palace. We had been attracted to the hotel by the photo of the amazing staircase and the location of the hotel. It was even better in real life! The bedroom we were allocated was lovely and spacious, even though we had only booked a classic twin. We didn’t get told it was an upgrade but I’m sure it must have been. The beds were SO comfortable and the room was very quiet. It was very clean and every little extra touch was provided. I loved the huge fluffy dressing gowns especially! The staff were friendly and helpful on reception, very welcoming. This was also the case in the restaurant where we decided to eat on our second night. We really enjoyed our meal there, in the beautiful dining room. The breakfast had lots of choice and again was beautifully presented. The location of the hotel was great! We had toyed with staying at another 5 star hotel in Genoa but chose this because of the location and it was the right decision. We loved that it was only a short walk to some lovely shops and restaurants and also the Palazzo Rosso which was well worth a trip - a fascinating place!

The hotel is excellently located in a beautiful avenue on few 100 meters from Piazza de Ferrari (the main square in Genoa). It has bus stops around the corner that bring you anywhere in the city quickly. The old harbor is on walking distance. The hotel has a big allure and appearance. It is nicely styled and it feels pleasant to be. Luggage is brought to the room by the staff. There are coffee and tea options in the room. The internet is working properly (although quite a few log ins need to be done and they are confirmed by various e-mails you get). There is a public parking on a 100 meters that we used (25 E per day) that I can recommend. The hotel itself has valet parking.

What was disappointing to me was the comfort we felt. I had asked for a room with a view, and we were placed on the top floor (6). Here, we saw for the whole stay the roof of the building on the other side of the street and its antenna's etc. Also the temperature on the top floor is is too high. We could not control it well by the available airco. The breakfast was OK, but for a hotel like this it could be better. We needed to wait a few times 5+ min, as a separate room needed to be opened. Also simple things like an omelet are at surcharge.

We loved every minute of our stay here. Like so many hotels, the building and services are great, but the people make the real difference, and the team here is exceptional. It starts at the desk; the check-in and the handling of the car and the luggage was fantastic, and the desk, particularly Matteo, was superb. Breakfast was terrific; Jenny was the stand-out person there for us, although, TBH, everyone was fantastic, and we had dinner one night in the restaurant, which was also excellent. We also sat in the small bar where we met lots of lovely international visitors and were perfectly served by Ivan, the barman - all in all, our experience met with the five stars they deservedly hold.

Location was excellent for getting around, within 1-2 blocks of old city area and old port. Easy transportation from hotel to everywhere in the city. Staff was excellent: from Bartender, who went out of way to order a salad for me, to front desk and bellman staff. Main concierge staff recommended an few hour visit to Boccadasse which was a charming old fishing village. Randomly we choose a pretty little Restaurant there for lunch which happened to be a Michelin rated one! The hotel was gorgeous, everywhere you looked, the ceilings, walls floors and expecially the staircase... Actually right out of a Hitchcock movie!
