The two week stay we had at the hotel was fantastic. Although the rooms were great and the food was great, it was the staff that made the stay exceptional. I'd like to point out that Lindah, David, Mariskus, Anwin, Thelma, Vuyo, Mart-marie, Amy and the floor manager (I never asked his name unfortunately) were all amazing, attentive and friendly. The manager went out of his way to make sure we were looked after and comfortable. There were also one or two other staff at the breakfast area (whose names I didn't get) and the in-room dining staff that were fantastic. Even the ladies that helped clean the rooms were friendly.

The only critique I have is that there was a maintenance crew that came very early in the mornings (6 am) for a few days. However I do understand that they were working on making the pool area safe for the busy season.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. The breakfast was lovely, eggs, bacon, everything was laid on and well presented. The dinner was lovely as well, also well presented. The staff took great care of me when I was there and made sure I was happy. I loved the decor in the hotel, super comfortable couches and chairs. I had the perfect room right at the end. Looking out of my window I had a stunning view of the mountains. It was so beautiful! Super comfy bed and nice spacious room. All in all I was super happy. Thank you so much.

The location. Too far away from shops etc. I dont drive and I was hoping there would have been Ubers around although I believe you do have a shuttle service at the hotel from what I understand.

The food was excellent, from Room service, my kids absolutely loved the crumbed chicken wraps and ordered them more than once. Our breakfast for 4 days was absolutely delicious and buffet variety was great. My young kids were made to feel very welcomed. There was great attention to our needs from Hotel Manager, Anwin. He always ensured that we had received everything we needed. He added so much value to our stay and we would return anytime knowing that he would be there to provide us with great welcome. All the staff in the dining area should be commended for their top quality service, we cannot fault the hotel service at all. Appreciate the room staff for their servicing of the rooms everyday they were neat and tidy with clean towels. Also appreciate that a mini fridge was added to accommodate me keeping my medication in there.

The beds were not very comfortable. The mattresses were very hard and need to be changed. When we arrived there were good intentions by placing flowers on the bed, however this resulted in numerous bugs crawling out of the flowers and onto the bedding. The desk in the room was old was chipped which really dropped the appeal of the room. The curtain was hanging off the rail, which also dropped the standard of what the room should have looked like. Netflix was not setup on the smart TV and neither was YouTube.

Loved the atmosphere in the main building by the lounge and pool area. Food was very good and the staff was very welcoming. Very family friendly

Rooms were cleaned up until very late in the afternoon (around 17:30). When you come back from a road trip and you just want to relax or change for a swim in the pool, it’s a bit annoying.

Room was nice and large and well kept

The shower floor was peeling from the paint, bathroom window latch was broken, curtains were wrong was round, net curtains were Infront of the actual curtain making it difficult to operate. I stayed for 1 week in room 435 which is far away from the hotel facilities, think long staying clients should be given a room in the hotel, I never went to enjoy the hotel facilities - too far

Great location, super friendly and accommodating staff and management team, good food

We were contacted the morning of our arrival date asking if we would still be staying at King George. It was quite confusing to us as it was the 3rd leg of our trip and the accommodation had been paid in full a while before. Upon our arrival, we discovered that the deluxe room we had booked with terrace was not available. Instead we were offered a room with no view, no patio or balcony. This was when we understood why we were asked if we were still planning on staying there. The manager on duty, Ikeraam Abdurahman, was an absolute star however and went out of his way to make it up to us in so many ways. We left with warm hearts and fond memories to treasure of our stay at King George Protea Hotel 🙏❤️ Will definitely recommend.

I like that it was a family destination. They went out of their way to create a fun filled time for the kids. From pool floaties, to body slides, to movie entertainment and popcorn making. They have a room for table tennis, pool and darts. we had an awesome time. wish we stayed longer.

a tray of food was left on the pavement where the cars were parked from the time we arrived to the time we left. It looked like a room service tray that was left there and forgotten.

The facilities were very good, and every thing was very clean.

The staff are very nice and helpful but they lack training and this aspect needs to be addressed. Many of them obviously do not understand how overseas visitors may have different ways to describe things like Irish coffee as a simple example or what the items on the menu are or that if the booking was made via a booking agency that is what has been agreed with the visitor and that they do not expect any changes to the billing. Having made this comment we would say that overall the stay was very good.

Pleasant Stay at Protea Hotel by Marriott, George Our family's one-night stay at the Protea Hotel by Marriott in George was thoroughly enjoyable. The room met our expectations, matching the photos we had seen online, which was reassuring. The secured parking was a highlight, complemented by very friendly and helpful security guards who made us feel safe and welcome. This added a sense of comfort to our stay. Its proximity to popular attractions made our stay convenient, allowing us to explore the area with ease. The room's amenities, including the quality of linens and the well-maintained bathroom, were impressive and contributed significantly to our comfort. Overall, our experience at the Protea Hotel was delightful, thanks to its excellent facilities and the warm hospitality of the staff. We look forward to staying here again and highly recommend it to others visiting George.

Bathoom amenities.

A fantastic location looking out over the lush breen of one of Feorge's many golf courses. Exyremely helpful and friendly staff both at reception, the bar and in the restaurant. The beds were very comfortable beds and we enjoyed the views from the balcony. The breakfast menu was very varied and both continental and full breakfasts were enjoyable.

Some of the furniture could do with an upgrade. The balconies are not walled off, so you can see all the balconies of the other rooms on your floor. This was a first for me.
