Nice and quiet location with a great hostess. Private house with an extra room and small private kitchen to rent out. Separate entrance so you’re completely independent. Beautiful view of the hills during breakfast. We also used it as a base to visit De Hoop which is quite a ride but worth visiting and still having the luxury of good restaurants and coffee bars in town.

There was a cat in the house. As we are both allergic to cats and the rooms have carpets you cannot really get rid of any hair. It didn’t bother us too much during our stay as we had no symptoms. If you’re allergic take this into account.

Margie was a wonderful host who made us feel very welcome. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the showers were great. The environment was fabulous with a beautiful garden with breathtaking mountain views where we ate breakfast and could sit and enjoy our time. Breakfast was lovely, and we were very well looked after with locally gathered fresh fruit. Margie gave us great local information, which helped us to make the most of our time. There are restaurants and a pub within walking distance and others within a short drive. We visited the brilliant De Hoop Nature Reserve while we were there, which was only an hour away.

We felt like home the minute we arrived and Margie is such a lovely host. The place is very quiet, has a super nice garden and we really liked the interieur of the house as well as of our room. The breakfast on the terrace with view on the mountains was excellent and we will positively remember this stay. If we are ever back in Swellendam, we would for sure come back here!

The mats on the slippery tiled floor were a hazard so we moved the one in the entrance room aside. It would have been nice to have a TV as the weather was too miserable to go out

What a wonderful hostess! Margie made us feel right at home. Very welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean and comfy. It was quiet and serene. The garden was beautiful and added to our experience and relaxation. I would recommend Margie's place for anyone.

Our room was beautifully decorated, the sheets were of excellent quality as were the towels. Our breakfast was beautifully presented and just the king of breakfast we like and the coffee was excellent

our room was connected to the owner’s main living area with insufficient sound proofing so we were woken by the sounds of others too close for comfort!

It was so comfy, beautiful place to stay for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay so much. Margie is a wonderful host and served us breakfast the next morning. I would recommend this place anytime and will definitely book there again. Great value for money.
