Location wise, it is one of the best attractions particularly for the young people if they want to check the vibes of a Korean college ( Hongdae) campus neighborhood. There are so many alleys full of small fancy stores , gorgeous cafes and other hot restaurants. Let alone the small shops, there are a lot of big department stores and ' Instagram Photo friendly' hot spots. Also, the guesthouse is very near two exits of the subway, so you have easy access to other areas. And the guesthouse is one stop away from the airport train station. There, the trains depart quite often. I'm visiting here now in the freezing cold winter, so it is very convenient and warm to walk through the underground alleys and come out on to the streets through several exits. That's to say, you can walk across the boulevards in any direction underground. The gem of this place is the host. She welcomes her guests with great warmth, and helps out whenever the guests are in need. She seems always ready to help them when they run into unexpected situations, which is amazing for foreigners. For the last, this guesthouse is for Female Only. So, I would recommend this one for young ladies who want to stay in a safe place with a kind host like your aunt!

I had an amazing time at ICOS! The hanok (traditional Korean house) is conveniently located right by a subway station, and is also within walking distance of Hongdae (a really vibrant, young are of Seoul). All the other reviews are true - the hostess is what makes this gem of a place sparkle! She's incredibly kind, and warm, and went out of her way to pick me up from the subway station to help with my luggage at 10:30pm on a Saturday night in -10C (14F) tempertaures. She was also very easily accessible on KakaoTalk. I will definitely be using this spot as my place to stay in Seoul from now on!

The experience of staying at a traditional house. The host was very friendly and responsive to all my questions and requests.

As a traditional house, I was not used to getting in and out of the room that’s it set higher from the ground. Getting heavy suitcases in and out was also a challenge. As there’s no central heating and only relying on heated floors and a heated blanket they provided, I found myself cold at times and did not sleep very well. I was surprised that there are also mosquitoes in the room which also affected my sleep at night and I got a few bites.

Amazing location. 1 min walk from shinchon station, and close to all shinchon has to offer. Super friendly host. Everything is extremely comfortable, wish I could stay more, but it was fully booked

This place is a rare find. It is a beautiful traditional old town in Seoul which is quite uncommon at this stage and it's lovely just for that reason. However the owner is also really lovely and took the time to come to see me, get to know me and offer recommendations. The room was large and comfortable and the facilities were good! I didn't need anything more than I had. There was an adorable kitten on the roof when I stayed. Very good location, near everything you could need in Seoul.

Because it's a traditional house you have to walk through the communal area courtyard from the bathroom to your room, this could be a little difficult in Winter when it's cold, or if you're in only a towel it's a little exposed (not too much of an issue because it's women only). Again because it's traditional, the ceiling height in the bathroom was a bit low for my height but I made do okay!

I very much enjoyed my stay at ICOS Guesthouse. I mostly chose it based on the reviews talking about the host - Imo. She is just as described: caring and helpful. She alone makes the stay worth it. My single room was quite roomy, it had lots of storage space and the bed was very comfortable. Since I stayed there for almost 2 weeks, I was very happy that the room wasn't super small. One of my favorite parts was definitely the location. The guesthouse is only a 2-minute walk away from Sinchon station, making it extremely easy to travel through Seoul! There's also a laundromat and multiple CVS within 5 minutes of walking. I only used the laundromat for the dryer though, since the guesthouse has a washing machine that can be used for free. You can also hang your clothes to dry, I just prefer using a dryer. Additionally, the other people staying at the guesthouse were very nice and also helpful! I met multiple different groups and it kept my stay very interesting. Overall, this guesthouse was the best choice I could have made for my stay, especially as a single traveller!

Super cosy place with such a sweet host! Great location, it was close to subway/shopping/restaurants. Loved my stay here, would definitely recommend.

The bathroom is sort of outdoors (in a lil house that's disconnected from the rooms), so if it's very cold outside it'll be a cold lil walk between room and bathroom. Not really a problem for me, but it's good to know.

I've always wanted to stay in a traditional Korean home and this was it! The owner goes out of her way to ensure your comfort. She's like your favorite auntie or sister. Each room was cozy with an attention to detail - low dimmed lamp next to the bed, bug swatter (you will need in humid weather), mosquito nets, thick blanket in the winter, and premium beds. It's also very quiet for a restful sleep. Rooms are nicely heated as were the bathrooms. This house accommodates a few guests at time so there was never a wait for the bathroom or use of kitchen. Strong wifi. The filtered drinking water is a bonus!

Delightful hostess communicated promptly & went out of her way to help me with an issue and was proactive with this. Simple small traditional hanok room. Bedding on floor was thick enough to be comfortable (unlike some places). A short walk from one of the Sinchon metro - just make sure you know which exit. Shared bathroom was simple but water was hot when needed.

Not an issue for me but for some women it might be: you need to take one big step up into your room from the floor outside of the room.

Everything was beyond my expectations, imo did everything to make me feel comfortable as at home, she is such a great person. Water and tea are supplied, washing machine is available too which is really appreciated. The place is not central to touristic places, but the area is not far from great music venues, but it is in a quiet street so I was not bothered with the noise which was really important to me. The metro is 2 min from the guesthouse, on line 2, which connect with city center and also Arex to go to the airport. Last thing, the guesthouse itself has still a "typical Korean vibe" which I personally love. I really recommend this place
