Recently reopened and rebranded as Pullman, this Ambassador Hotel has been around for a while — and the expertise shows. Staff is attentive in the best way possible, never pushy but always quick to help. They reminded us of the great 5* star hotels of the olden days that are getting more and more difficult to find. While the rooms have gotten a *very* stylish makeover, quality materials and appliances have been used all over. Thanks to great maintenance, neither of our two rooms have shown any sign of wear. We’ve stayed in our fair share of luxury hotels in Seoul, including the higher end sister property (Sofitel in Songpa-gu), this Pullman hotel easily wins in overall ambiance. Even zooming out — I’d be hard pressed to name a better affordable 5* that’s impressed me the same way. We’ll be back for sure.

The rooms are unpleasantly warm in winter, no matter whether the central air conditioning is on or off. That’s in line with local taste; just hard to adjust to coming from Europe. I’d also argue that while reasonably central and calm, the location at the foot of Namsan is slightly inconvenient if you need to get to different parts of the city.

One night we needed a taxi or bus to get to Namsan tower and the valet (an older gentleman) went above and beyond to get us there by waving down buses and taxis and was extremely helpful and kind

Did not have full access to all facilities (outdoor pool, spa, sauna) these services were apparently for members of the hotel only which I found a little strange as I’ve stayed in other Pullman hotels many times and have always been given access to these facilities. We also had construction going on between 10am and 4pm both days we were there so it was difficult to have a sleep in. This was something that I’m sure was out of there control yet it was still an inconvenience as they never told us it was happening .

The hotel is tucked away in a slightly more quiet part of Seoul so you escape a lot of the busy traffic. The room was perfect for us especially the big TV and fully equipped bathroom - we were really impressed by this. Chungmuro metro station is just a short walk around the corner to access the rest of the city. The standout at this hotel is the staff who were very polite, thoughtful and happy to help. Amazing housekeeping staff too who made sure we had complimentary bottles of water on the exceptional hot days we experienced. I must say that the lobby bar was one of the best I've encountered in terms of drink selection and ambiance, it was a highlight of the evening when we went there.

This is a VERY minor critique and I do understand the reasonings but I think having the requirement of wearing a swimming cap to use the pool facilities is a bit inconvenient as most people don't own one/pack one when they travel. But as I say, this is such a minor issue.

Room was very nice, good sized and comfortable. The outdoor pool was great to unwind in after long, hot days, though the amount of guests spending hours taking pool insta photos was unreal. Everyone had phones in the pool and Instagram open…bizarre, but not the fault of the hotel obviously.

The location wasn’t amazing. A little far from sites and the walk up the hill from the subway station was tiring at the end of long days. However, we realized after a couple days which subway exit to use that had an escalator, and then an outdoor escalator that takes you part way up the hill towards the hotel. So look for those escalators.

Excellent location, right next to a nice neighbourhood with bars/restaurants, Myeong-dong (shopping) and several metros. Rooms itself were nice, with a comfy bed, while the breakfast buffet is very good.

Paying extra for services like the pool was a bit peculiar to me (30.000 won per person) given the actual price of the hotel. In addition, staff were not always super helpful, although that is probably also the language barrier.

The staff were all very kind, friendly, and approachable. The room was very clean and had a lot of amenities available. The place has great facilities and very fancy dining. We also ordered room service which tasted great. The staff called to confirm the order and made sure we didn't have any dietary restrictions as well.

We went to the gym, but there were a lot more people than expected. We ordered room service for late-night snacking and it tasted great. However, the price doesn't match what they are serving so things are a bit overpriced.

Very nice Premium hotel with very good facilities. The location is good with lot's of options nearby. It's 30mins walking distance from the street food place. I didn't choose the breakfast option because I thought it was too expensive. I walked by the breakfast area though and they had a great selection. For a light breakfast, it's not worth it. Also, the prices at the bar are for people who don't care about the bill. For me, it was not worth the value.

I wanted to have a coffee and a dessert at the hotel but the prices were not reasonable for me. Nothing else to complain about really.

Newly renovated hotel in a nice location. The view from the rooms is amazing! We also enjoyed breakfast and facilities. Staff was very helpful all the time.

Sometimes seems like cleaning could be a little bit better - we saw that crunches from the table were not properly wiped, and there was always some hair and dirt left after cleaning (even when we first arrived). However, it does not mean the hotel is not clean, those are just minor details that we saw.

Very clean and comfortable. We stayed on an executive club floor, the reception was exceptional. The view from the 18th floor club lounge is great. The restaurant has a very good buffet; it is not cheap but it’s glorious and makes one happy!

Location isn’t the easiest. Booked taxis to go anywhere. Breakfast can get over crowded in the morning, so go early!

The location is excellent. While it's a bit farther from downtown, it's still very convenient, taking only 20-30 minutes by subway or bus. It's a cozy spot for relaxation, and you can also enjoy a leisurely stroll to Namsan.

The room is wonderful, but there is room for improvement in terms of cleanliness; there is still visible dust in the closet. During my four-night stay, I noticed that the breakfast remained the same each day.
