Well located for travelling back to the UK with my dog, 2 mins off motorway. Although you can’t take your dog into the attractive gardens located at the hotel there are very pleasant walks across fields and farm land opposite. Dogs are allowed in the cafe which is an absolute bonus when travelling solo. Plenty of hot water and very comfortable bed. Very efficient and friendly staff.

Bathroom was a little tired, the toilet seat being broken. As with all Spanish construction there was little noise insulation between rooms but luckily the neighbouring room switched their booming tv off at a decent hour!

My room was very spacious and there was a little room separating the bedroom from the hall. This was great because my dog wasn't barking at the people passing by. The aircon was powerful, this was very important for me as it was 40c and my dog has a thick coat. I didn't eat in the restaurant but it was busy every time I passed by, and there was a lovely buzz coming from it. There was also a lovely seating area outside for eating. I really enjoyed my stay, it was peaceful and quite. Great location and it was super easy to get back on the main road the following morning. Also the staff were so nice and friendly.

Comfortable, spacious & re-styled room, nice restaurant with attentive, helpful waitress; excellent location for a stay over on a road trip…able to buy some local wine from a display in reception.

A little on the tired side, particularly when viewed from the outside upon arrival and, although the room itself had been re-vamped, the bathroom was original. Breakfast was adequate but, as it was charged as an extra, it ought to be better…also, was not offered more coffee when desired, so black mark.

Excellent value for money hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Good food on offer. Great location just off the motorway with lovely countryside views. Really comfortable beds, hot showers and nicely refurbished room. Was delighted to be able to take my dog into cafe whilst eating.

Slightly nervous that the ground floor window lock seemed not totally secure but was comforted that the metal shutters offered a layer of protection. There was no mention on the booking site that the lovely gardens were off limits to dogs, this was one of the reasons for booking the hotel. Had to make do with a patch of wasteland at the side of the hotel and walking around the car park.

Comfortable and large room. Water was hot and shower was great. We had a queen sized bed and a large room. Everything was clean. Plenty of towels and shower gel in bathroom. Restaurant and Bar was excellent value and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Good english spoken.

The only disappointment was we couldn't order Paella for the evening meal. Other than that, there was nothing to dislike about this hotel. We used it 2 years ago and wanted to go back. It's a really convenient location, the staff are welcoming and friendly. The drinks are very reasonably priced, and they sell some very good Ribera el Duero wines if you need some last-minute bottles before the ferry crossing. There is also plenty of free parking. There's a Lidl just down the road towards the town centre, and it would be a good location to visit the area.

The hotel was extremely close to the motorway which was what we wanted on our trip from Spain back to England. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and polite. We could have our dog with us when we ate but in the bar area not the restaurant which was fine. Wide choice of food and excellent wine. Comforting bed.

The location wasn’t great for walking the dog but that isn’t why we chose the hotel. Everything was ideal for what we needed.

It was our second stay at the Montermoso. Great value and a perfect stop-off on the way to Santander or Bilbao for the ferries. Very close to the main road yet quiet. The rooms are large and very clean, the staff, especially in the snack bar/café, are very friendly and the food is tasty. The bar and restaurant also serve food from 7:30pm which is convenient if you want an early night.

Our ground floor room was a little tired with some damage to the wall, and nesting birds right outside the window woke us up extremely early!

Great location - close to motorway and easy parking right outside the door. Warm welcome and a great room - large warm and clean. Friendly service and staff with excellent food in the restaurant. Great value for money. Will be back!

Another great stay at Montermoso. This was our 6th stop here on our way back from Spain to the UK. Location excellent for the motorway but no noise from it. The food at this hotel is amazing. We had the Suckling Lamb & pig this time and will be back next year for more of the same. Dogs always welcome here, and can also sit with you in the bar area. We didn't have breakfast as we left early but it looked & smelled nice again.

Excellent stop over again. This hotel is located just off the motorway (30 seconds) which was great for our drive from Malaga to Calais. We have stayed here 4 times now and will do again. Pets are welcome with you also around the bar area if you wanted to. We ate at the restaurant on the last 3 times but at the bar area this time, food still good, then sat outside and relaxed for a while before bed. The rooms are large. Overall a great stopover, nice food & a few beers to relax before driving on fully recharged the next day. Bonus that there is also a large car park and area around you can walk the dogs.
