This magnificent building has been sensitively converted into a top rate hotel. Our standard room with a walk in shower was spacious and spotlessly clean. The atrium is stunning and makes an excellent place for a drink before dinner. The menu was varied and although it remained the same we ate different dishes on three nights and all were good, some delicious.

I have allergies and the kitchen had been informed of them but the waiting staff were not well briefed. On two occasions I was brought a starter that contained one or more of my allergens. Had I not been so alert the consequences could have been serious.

The hotel is an old Ducal Palace which has been restored and converted into a hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a view over the main square, which appear also to be the main car park for the town, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The centre courtyard of the palaces has been roofed and is now a sumptuous relaxing area and bar. Lerma is a lovely small town with lots to see and easily walkable. Breakfast and Dinner in the restaurant were very good. There is a secure underground car park for which you have to pay but there appeared to be plenty of free parking in the main square in front of the hotel.

As well as a restaurant there is a more informal eating place. On the second day of our stay we decided to eat here and had a drink in the bar waiting for it to open. When it didn't open at the advertised time we enquired only to find that it was shut due to staff shortages. It would have been better if there had been a notice on the door, we had to go out to find somewhere else to eat.

I liked the exterior architecture. It really was impressive on the square in Lerma. I loved that parking was easy right out front. The cafes and bars just off the square were really fun. The lobby area was massive serving drinks and light snacks in the afternoon. Breakfast was great, thanks for having the Padron peppers as a choice for breakfast. The beds were comfortable, and the room was super clean.

I hate that the Parador company is cutting corners by understaffing, or not paying a decent wage to attract more employees. The poor servers at afternoon in the lobby were so overwhelmed by the number of people, that they couldn't keep up, I genuinely felt sorry for them, and opted to go to a local bar after waiting for 45 minutes. They were working as quickly as they could!! The rooms though quite large and clean, were sparsely decorated- only 3 little pictures on a really large wall and that was it.

Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Very large room but warm and comfortable. Easy to find and loads of safe parking. We mostly eat in the cafe because my wife and I don't eat a lot but the cafe had a great log fire that we sat near every time and had drinks and food. The best Parador we have stayed in so far. Can recommend this one to anybody.

TV did not seem to offer many channels but we didn't watch much at all. The surroundings are too nice to stay in your room. The Christmas decorations were excellent all over the Parador. A really lovely town to visit just off the Madrid/Burgos motorway.

The Parador is stunning and the only reason for not giving top marks is it is apparently undergoing some renovation and we were not advised of this in advance. We had a wonderful overnight stay and would thoroughly recommend the Parador. One tip would be to avoid parking in the square on Tuesday night as Wednesday is market day. They do have an underground car park.

Loved the breakfast - so nice to have a 'hot' breakfast option. Thoroughly enjoyed the scrambled eggs and bacon. The central covered courtyard is a lovely area to sit and relax, have a drink or something to eat and the whole building is lovely to wander around and look at - it's like staying in a national trust property.

It would have been nice if the garden had been open but apparently it is only open in the summer and mid June is only considered to be Spring time!

The Parador is in the beautiful village of Lerma. It is excellently situated at the top of the village with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. It is a gorgeous ducal palace and is very spacious and comfortable. The staff were lovely and very knowledgeable and helpful.

We were there for two nights during a festival and it was very noisy. The Parador had contacted us to let us know in advance but we didn't realize that the.music would be going on all night until 6-7am in the morning!

Lovely setting. Reception staff were very helpful. Room was nice, apart from noise from the room above (tiled flooring is noisy when people moving about, and furniture scraping).

Unable to reserve a table in the restaurant as it was fully booked ...as a resident I would expect to be able to use the restaurant!. Instead we had to eat in the tapas bar which was also in the hotel, but we were very disappointed because the stay was a 60th birthday gift and we were expecting a lovely meal. Staff in the breakfast room were not very accommodating. When we asked for scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs they didn't bring them, although the table next to us had scrambled eggs with their breakfast. Also cooked breakfast had to be sent back to be warmed up and still no scrambled eggs! We did request a room with a bath and shower but we only had a shower.

Stayed here for two nights. Very comfortable large room (standard double 103) with great view over surrounding countryside. Very quiet even though opened on to lovely internal courtyard bar area – our room had a hallway with an internal door into the bedroom. Outside walls 1 metre thick. Staff very helpful and attentive. Excellent meal in vaulted restaurant one night, tapas in nearby café the other. Nice walks around the town and interesting places to visit nearby (a short drive) including 7th century church and dinosaur footprints on the way to the church.

Our first experience of a Spanish Paradore but one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The building itself is impressive with an airy communal area and 2 restaurants one of them opening out onto a pleasant patio area. the rooms were large and air conditioned which was very welcome in the 35 degree heat. Free parking is available in the Plaza in front of the hotel on every day except Wednesday when a market is held. there is also underground parking which has to be reserved and paid for €20 per day.
