I had a fantastic stay at the hotel in Spain with two friends. We had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the hotel. There were no complaints whatsoever, and that's saying something because I'm quite discerning. The staff was outstanding, and the hotel's cleanliness was truly impressive, showcasing their high standards. The rooftop pool was a definite highlight, and the welcoming arrival drink added a special touch. The staff's politeness and genuine willingness to assist made our stay even better. The location was perfect, and the breakfast was also top-notch. Overall, a remarkable experience!

Beautiful property in a perfect location for exploring Barcelona. We did a food tour and walking tours and all meeting locations were in 5-7 minutes walk from our hotel. Wonderful food options in the area. The staff was so kind and friendly and went out of their way to send us a special treat when they found out I was pregnant. We had a lovely stay and would recommend the hotel.

We did have some issues with the AC - it would come on and the room would cool off but in about 2 hours it would heat back up and AC would switch itself back to the higher temp. We notified the front desk the second evening because we thought initially we weren’t working it correctly. They watched our room temp from the lobby all night and would correct it when it went back to the higher temp so we could sleep. The walls are a bit thin so we did hear people going in and out of their room and people in the hallways until about 2 in the morning, but Spain operates on a completely different timetable so kinda of to be expected.

arrivals was lovely. Felt very welcome by staff and got a complimentary glass of cava. Staff could not do enough for us especially door staff, Aida and Martin. Breakfast was fabulous - great choice and food cooked to order if needed

Bar on roof - we were ask ed to leave as we ordered food. Would have expected the bar to stay open until we at least ate our food. Air con was faulty and had to be moved. Our friends had to be moved also. Didn't like my bathroom in my bedroom. Could hear my friend in toilet surrounded by frosted glass but might as well have been in toilet with her. Not very private. Interior design in this respect doesn't work. No control over the aircon. it is operated by the management. Spa pool doesn't work properly and is very small.

Loved the location really close to bars and shops, the room was clean and spacious, the staff were amazing really friendly and accommodating, special shout out to Adam who really is a credit to your hotel, he was so kind and chatty and went out of his way to ensure we had a great stay and were safe, and had some nice recommendations on what to do there. He even booked us a restaurant when we could not decide on where to go which was lovely!

Not much to comment on this as we loved the stay, only small critique is with the toilet as it would be great with a proper door that closes, I can imagine if you were a couple staying it would be abit embarrassing and more privacy would be needed going to the toilet, I know this is quite common now with new hotels and open plan bathrooms.. However this would not effect me staying here again. This is the only critique I can think of.

Excellent staff. We did have some concerns about not separated bathroom and the main room and staff couldn’t really fix this issue as that how rooms are designed. But as a compliment for this inconvenience we got free breakfast and bottle of champagne which was very surprising and pleasant. In general, room is good, breakfast is great. (big selection of choices and everything is fresh and tasty). Nice location, right in the city center.

We don’t really understand the idea of having the main room and bathroom as the same place. If you want to use bathroom at night you need to switch on lights on the whole room. Not comfortable at all. And the thing is you can not choose another room as all of them have the same design.

Fantastic location, right in the gothic quarter and within walking distance to so many restaurants and parks. Beautiful area, that is very close to main shopping strips. The rooms and the hotel itself are very modern and stylish, fully airconned so it's always a pleasure returning and being out and about in the heat. The rooms and the beds are very large and comfortable and the breakfast selection is fantastic!

The ONLY thing I didnt like was the toilet being behind a separate frosted glass door in the room as opposed to in its own completely separate room. Not an issue for me but others may have issue with privacy.

The spread offered an array of fresh and delicious options, ensuring a perfect start to our days of celebration. The variety and quality of the food exceeded our expectations, and we truly appreciated the abundance of choices available. Our room was both stylish and cosy, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Every detail was meticulously taken care of, from the tasteful decor to the comfortable furnishings. We felt pampered and relaxed, enjoying the lovely ambience created within our private sanctuary. The staff at Catalonia Magdalenes truly stood out with their friendly and attentive service. They went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met and that our anniversary stay was exceptional. Their warmth and willingness to assist with any request made us feel like valued guests throughout our entire stay. As a delightful surprise, we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival. It was a thoughtful gesture that added an extra touch of celebration to our special occasion. Additionally, the lovely chocolates provided each day were a sweet indulgence that made us feel truly pampered. The hotel's facilities, including the rooftop pool and spa, were impeccable. The cleanliness and maintenance of these areas were evident, creating a serene and relaxing environment. We took advantage of the rooftop pool, soaking in the breathtaking views while enjoying a refreshing swim. The spa, too, provided a haven of tranquillity, allowing us to unwind and rejuvenate during our anniversary getaway.

Everything was perfect.

Fantastic central location. Friendly check-in staff. Rooms were well equipped and thought out, we effectively had connecting rooms through a little hall which was just what we wanted. Rooftop pool a real bonus and not too busy in April. Spa pool also lovely. We didn't have breakfast as it seemed expensive and there are so many great alternative places to go nearby. Our cleaner was excellent. Do try the Vermouth/Tapas Bar just metres away, Bodega del Vermut, it was great!

Service sometimes slow in the rooftop bar - particularly if only one member of staff on their own. Also no alternative bar when the weather not so good, sometimes too cold to be up there in the evenings. Bathroom/toilet doors in the bedrooms are frosted glass and don't fit the entire frame - hence not great privacy! More water would be great, they provide in reception but only in the evenings. However all minor points and would still recommend.

Hotel staff was perfect, same as hotel as well. At last day we leaved on early morning & kitchen prepared for us fabulous breakfast box, that I have never seen before. Location of hotel is very good, few meters from Catalunya square or La Rambla street. We definitely recommend this hotel. Also airport bus stop is very near so good location for/from airport way.

The hotel room was a little darker because the hotel is located in the city center. The view from the room was of the opposite building & the pool on the roof is quite small.

Centrally located to main attractions. In a quiet street in the Gothic quarter. 5 minutes to the Ramblas 2 minutes from the Cathedral etc. The staff were impeccably trained and extremely attentive without being intrusive or condescending. The hotel was extremely well appointed with unusual features like the rock sculptures you can see under the glass floor which you could walk over in the lobby. Impressive very tall central atrium with a plethora of hanging lights and a sculptured wall. The room was outstanding in size and little touches. Calm colouring - white with taupe/mushroom coloured relief walls covered in linen style patterned paper. Although I had not told the hotel it was my birthday, they obviously picked this up from my passport and sent up a bottle of champage and cake to the room. Little things make a difference!

The cold elements of the buffet breakfast were very good as was the "cooked to order" omelettes and pancakes etc. The only very slightly disappointing thing was the hot section of sausage, bacon etc but overall this didn´t affect us having a really nice and plentiful breakfast.
