We had a superior room with a balcony which was quite comfortable and a good size. The bathroom was clean with fresh towels provided every day. The reception staff were very helpful. The hostal is in a lovely old building situated in the gothic quarter of barcelona city and was next to all the shops and good eating places.

I missed not having a hair drier. It was a little noisy because near our window there would be busking every afternoon and night however, most of the time, they were darn good performers. It always finished by 10pm at the latest and was quiet all night after that.

Stylish, nice room, very helpful hand basin in the room, comfortable double bed, incredibly central. The staff are nice

No fridge in the room, no kitchen or common area with a fridge, a microwave or a kettle

Excellent location very close to Placa Catalunya; plenty of shops and bars and tourist exploration possible on foot from this location. Very handy having the 24 hour desk as some nights we were late in getting home. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Room very good. Lovely old building which we loved staying in - but looked and felt very modern on the inside. Get the day travel passes for Barcelona - available at the airport, during your stay - as this helps you get around on the very good and efficient metro system and very good value for money. My mate found some excellent vegan places in Barcelona - spoilt for choice really; some nearby to this hotel and others on the metro system (so get those cards) and so the Happy Cow App sent us to some wonderful places (although not vegan myself, I did 'go vegan' during our stay as it was most easy option -- wasn't disappointed).

Only the one little niggle - and that's probably us numpty Brits not working out the European/Catalan system (lol), but when we got to the hotel we did find it difficult to initially work out which floor the hotel actually was on and so we were up and down a bit trying to find it - luckily we didn't have big cases with us, only manageable hand luggage. However - once located it was well remembered - although I cannot remember the actual floor now I've got back home (sorry, my bad). Perhaps a little bit more obvious signage on the lift/outside door may help. Not a big problem in the end really.

I booked this hotel primarily because it fit my budget and had good reviews. It was an unexpected and delightful discovery that the location is absolutely unbeatable! Very convenient location to access any form of public transit, easy access to tons of shops and restaurants. Room was compact but functional and very clean. I had some hesitation about staying in a place with shared bathrooms but I did not ever have to wait to access a bathroom, and they were always very clean and well-stocked (and for added convenience there was a sink in our room). All of the staff I interacted with were very kind and helpful. My stay was part of a wonderful first visit to Barcelona!

Only 2 minor quibbles: 1) arriving late in the evening, we struggled to find the entrance as the signage from the street is very subtle (you have to buzz into the building). 2) staying in an inside room, window opened to the inner courtyard of the building but otherwise had poor air circulation. Minor complaints, and certainly not a detraction from an otherwise wonderful stay!

The hotel is beautiful and the style is very pretty. The beds were also really comfortable. What made it more amazing was the nice staff and the location.

The property is really really noisy. The walls are very thin so you can hear EVERYTHING. I read it in the reviews, but I thought it would be fine. However it was really noisy. Our room was next to the lobby so we would hear everything. At 7am the receptionist would change shifts and (obviously) do a handover but it would wake us up. If you’re planning to stay long or you’re a light sleeper, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

It is a perfect place to spend some days in Barcelona. The location is great - you can easily walk to all the main attractions or use public transport, as the hostel is next to Plaça Catalunya with bus and metro stations. The staff was very friendly and helpful, asking all our questions. It was always clean in the shared bathrooms and our room was cleaned every day as well. Even though the hostel is located in a vibrant street, we couldn’t hear any noise in our room.

The walls inside the hostel are really thin and we could hear everything our neighbours were doing.

Location was incredible! Perfectly located at the start of the Gothic Quarter, off La Rambla and extremely accessible via Placa De Catalunya. The gents at reception were truly lovely and available 24x7. Coming back to the hotel after each day was almost a welcome event. Rooms were also cleaned daily, the bed was very plush and comfy, and I really appreciated the blackout curtains.

My room had very little natural light since the only window faced the courtyard inside. Not a major thing since I was there to travel and explore, but had to use the lights at any hour of day.

Fantastic location, just down the street from Plaza Catalunya and within 5 minutes of La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter, and El Born. Private room was simply furnished but well suited to our needs, bed was comfortable and we slept well! Convenient sink in room for washing up before bed. Good wifi, bathroom shared but kept very clean, front door was monitored 24/7 and felt very safe. We were able to store our luggage for a few hours after check out.

Electrical outlets were functional but not in the most convenient location.

Very central location - La Rambla is the parralel street. Less tgen 5 min walk to Placa Catalunia & metro station. Boqueria market, Casa Batlo, Casa Mila in walking distance. Easy to find, safe area (though next to La Rambla), a lit of brand shops and a big mall near by. Cleaning every day + clean towels. Martin at the reseption was very friendly and easy to contacts, as he knows English fluently. Very beautiful building.

There was a sound of elevator in our room. So, the first night to sleep was not easy. Luckily, during week-end there was no many visitors for upstair floors and on Monday we left. Old sheets , but it was clean.

The establishment was fantastic, with comfortable beds, clean toilets and showers, and a personal sink in the room that you could use. An extra aspect I enjoyed was the window we had in our room which slid open to allow fresh air in, or a wooden attachment that allowed all light to be closed off from outside. The location as well was fantastic. Just overall, would stay again if given the chance.

The only aspect in my opinion which could have been improved would be the wifi as it didn't work well in our room, or to have some hooks on the walls for hanging up jackets.
