We chose this hostel based on the good reviews and the excellent location in the gothic quarter and it definitely met our expectations. The room was small but comfortable with a good bed, cooling and shower. I really enjoyed the little balcony to sit out on, have a drink and watch the people go by in the street below. Location can be noisy however it's great in terms of accessing public transport and walking along La Ramblas and heading to the central market. The included breakfast was excellent with a good variety given the small space available. We didn't try the onsite restaurant (with the exception of breakfast) but what we saw looked excellent.

Unfortunately the front glass door of the hotel had been smashed just prior to our arrival and the location is such that it is a bit of a thoroughfare for people drunkenly walking home, so we felt a little bit uneasy in this area - that said, it's an area I've stayed in before so I was kind of expecting it. Also, the hostel itself has good security measures and a 24 hour front desk so, despite anything that was going on in the street, we always felt safe inside.

Although this is a small place, for the price and location, it really is a good deal. The location is ideal as El Born is the best area in Barca to me, and you are never far from anything. There is a metro station at either end of the road and tons of restaurants and bars all around. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was wonderful, wish we had eaten dinner restaurant next door! Access to the waterfront was within walking distance.

We were warned elevator would not be working, so slow going for me up the stairs. We arrived fairly late, but a good Samaritan on the street led us to front door and warned about pickpockets, which we never encountered!

Very dangerous neighbourhood. You have to walk there very carefully around. Because there are pickpocketers on every corner.

This was a very central location in Gothic Quarter to easily walk around the city and down to the harbour and beach. Close to shopping, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions. Our room was the exact one in the advertising pictures with a balcony directly opposite the church stained glass window and it overlooked the street below which was delightful. The room was basic but comfortable and easy for two travellers. Breakfast was simple but generous with coffee/juices fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, yoghurt, bread and sandwich fillings, and it was easy to access for yourself at a time that suited you. Staff were friendly and helpful with organising early transfers to the airport.

Would have loved tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Just a kettle etc.

Exceptional location right in the Gothic Quarter. Walking distance to all of the hot spots (exception of Sagrada Familia as it is across town from most things). Staff were lovely! Good breakfast considering cost of the room. Bed for a single room was decently comfortable, pretty sure it’s a foam pad and not a mattress. Nice and clean and I always felt safe.

The air conditioning in the single room fanned DIRECTLY onto the bed. This made for a very cold night/bad sleep or no AC and a warm night with poor sleep! I’m true European fashion there is no comforter, just a thin sheet and an extra scratchy motel style blanket. The hallways are also echo a lot with people walking or talking, almost no soundproofing or sound deadening in the hallways (some rugs or wall baffles would do wonders here).

Excellent location within the old town and a great base to tour from, either by walking or by metro (4 minutes away on La Rambla). The Barcelona Card for multi day public transport highly recommended, this is also available from the airport. Rooms though small were very clean and adequate offering the basics including on-suite, the shower was particularly good with plenty of hot water and volume. In addition, the rooms had wifi, personal security safe and comfy beds. Breakfast was included giving a great start for the day. An arranged walking tour of the old town (staring 10 minutes away) on our arrival at the end of our first day was a great way to gain familiarity of our surroundings right from the start. Just across the lane 2-3 minutes walk is the Placa Riel square with many terraced bars and Restaurants with great food. Hotel staff were friendly helpful and offered to print our boarding cards for the return flight.

Everything was great! Breakfast-tasty and various. Room-we had one with balcony, super clean, nice, modern, new furniture(looks like new) and cozy. Receptionist-there was always someone, 24h per day, always smiling and helpful. Overall, we stayed 6 nights, would choose this hostal again for sure! Location is amazing, right in front of La Rambla street, and it was not that noisy at all as we expected. We used metro maybe 2 times only, because from here you can just walk everywhere. We needed iron once, asked for it and got it within minute. Cleaning lady was cleaning our room also while we stayed there-that was very nice and she was checking if we need clean towels or anything daily. We will definitely be back again! Excellent location in a lively city. For a great price, more than adequate service quality. Barcelona is an amazing city that tries to be for people, above all for its residents. Not like most Czech cities, where it is usually the exact opposite. There are a lot of pedestrians, cyclists, buses, many cars on the streets, a well-functioning metro - but there is much more tolerance between everyone than in Czechia, and it is very refreshing, enviable and especially worth following. B. is not perfect, and it never will be, it is already too big a city for that (it is necessary to look beyond the usual tourist routes), but it is trying. 👍😀

The place is very clean, quiet at night, the area is near and walking distance to many tourist attractions and restaurants and tapa bars. It is also very close to the metro. I am a runner, the area is also close Barceloneta, ciutadella park and Montjuic park, which are very good jogging routes. The staffs are very nice, and the breakfast is excellent. Also the food at the Fernando cafeteria is very good and you get 20% discount if you are staying in their hostal. There is a 24 hour receptionist and they are very helpful.
