The location was great. As a solo female traveler, I always look for well-located, safe, well-lit, with good food/market/stores/public transportation nearby. This place checked all the boxes. The staff was very nice and helpful. Although they don’t have breakfast, they provide cute snack pack for your day and have a communal fridge and coffee/tea. Maga was wonderful, on the first day she gave me a very helpful introduction to the city using a map and gave me great recommendations. They also provide self-guided walking tours. They even kindly contacted me when I left something behind. The details really made it a great stay.

The location was amazing - walking distance to La Rambla and only a 25 minute walk to the beach and many other attractions. We didn't use public transport once as we could easily walk everywhere which was a bonus. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was very clean and the bed super comfy. Free tea/coffee/morning muffin and juice was a bonus too! Would highly recommend for a short city stay.

I highly recommend this place! I was checked in by Jose, who was very helpful with not only the place, but he also gave me a map of Barcelona along with tips on what visit and what to do and what not to do in the city. The other staff were also very nice and helpful. The rooms were very nice and I also like the small breakfast provided and the common areas that were available. The location is amazing, with only 10-15 mins walk to the center. Overall, just a very great stay and I would stay here again when I go back to Barcelona.
The walls are a bit thin so you can hear voices and footsteps but I didn't really mind too much as it was pretty quiet the majority of the time.

A great place to stay. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable and quiet - which really amazed me given how centrally located it is.
My only concern was that the room had a small ‘step’ part way through the room, from the bathroom back across towards the bed. Given the wooden floor, it was not easy to spot and I dropped heavily off it twice (as someone who has had a serious foot injury in the past, I am hyper-aware of these things). It really could do with some tape or something to bring your attention to where it is in the room (there was a small piece of tape on the underside of the step but nothing to highlight it when you come from the bathroom).

The location was excellent, we were a 7 minute walk from Casa Batlló, 8 minutes from Palau de Música, 40 minute walk away from la Sagrada Família, 30 minute walk from the beach, it took us about 45 minutes to walk back from Parc Güell. There is the Urquiniona metro stop 3 minutes walk from the hotel if you don't fancy too much walking. I went with my son and was apprehensive as everytime I've been to Barcelona, someone with me has been robbed, but I felt very safe here and we did a lot of walking and exploring. The beds were comfy, the room was very clean and quiet (we were overlooking an inner courtyard, not a great view, but much more peaceful than the road). All the staff were extremely helpful. On our arrival, the receptionist suggested where to go, what to do, where to eat. I'd already made plans but it's always good to have insider knowledge. We had a couple of small snags in the room (safe not working, tv not working) which were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Be aware the hostel is located on the first and second floors of the building. You need to be able to walk up about 8 steps, then there's a lift to the floors. There was a little breakfast bag provided each morning with a juice carton and a cake. There are communal tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, microwave and dining area.

The location was very convenient and close to the attractions; The location of the hotel was a little inconspicuous, having to go through a small door to get up to the first floor, and the lift space was rather small; The staff at the hotel were very nice and welcoming; my companion got injured during the trip and they provided alcohol and cotton to sterilise us, which was very thoughtful; The hotel had complimentary bread and drinks provided and the communal spaces were comfortable; The room I stayed in had a lot of space, was cleaned every day and was very comfortable and cosy. Overall, the hotel was great and I have already recommended it to my friends. I will come back if I get the chance.
The reception space is a bit small and if there are a lot of people, you may have to wait in the aisle, which is rather crowded.

We liked everything! We didn't expect much, but the hostal exceeded our expectations. The room is not big, but comfortable. Daily cleaning, everything is clean. Excellent common area for eating and working. Stable Internet. Hostal Goya has an ideal location, located in the city center, 1 minute from the Urguenaonа metro station, 3-5 minutes to Plaza Catalunya and Plaza Catalunya metro station, bus stop to the airport. Nearby there is everything you need, a cafe, Mercadonna supermarket, El Cort Inglés supermarket. Main attractions within walking distance. Wonderful, helpful staff. Thank you, we will be back.

The staff were very helpful. The breakfast bag, although very basic was a nice touch.
Somewhere to hold the shower on the wall whilst showering. This would be a very small cost. I note others have also commented and yet Hostal Goya have done nothing, so I assume they will continue to do nothing, which is a shame. In the room 207 there is also one step which is easy to fall over and for me (at my advanced age) was a safety hazard. Perhaps a line or tape on top of the step would fix the problem. Again, a cheap and easy fix.

The location in L’Eixample is excellent. We loved the area…the proximity to Plaza Catalunya, wonderful restaurants, and great transport connections. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They provided a fan for our room during our stay as the temps were unseasonably warm for mid-March. The double/twin room was spacious with a separate little seating area and large desk. It opened into the shared outdoor terrace which was nice. It was very convenient (and economical) having coffee and tea available 24/7 in the shared lounge area. Also convenient was the shared microwave, though the only fridge for guest use was located in a separate location. Room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job during our stay. Elevator was also great to have, though note that are about 6-8 stairs to climb before reaching the elevator.
Only a couple of drawbacks. Our bathroom looked like it had some previous water damage and the repairs could’ve been a little better. The staff provide a little bag of snacks each morning which is very nice (as breakfast isn’t offered), but it would’ve been nice if there was a little variety during our stay. It was better than nothing though.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my daughter. Plenty of space in the room for us both, very clean, bed comfortable and slept well. Coffee machine in the communal area used every morning, made very nice coffee and ensured a great start to the day and nice touch having muffins and juice left out for us. Staff lovely, friendly and very helpful. Excellent location for getting about, close to Metro stop.
Blind on the French Doors was broken in the closed position so no natural night in the room but didn’t spoil our stay.
