We LOVED our stay here. Not only is the hotel absolutely beautiful, but it was so peaceful and calming as well. The rooms are great, so comfortable and spacious. It feels like the hotel really anticipated our every need as guests. The breakfast was SO good as well. There was a parkade close by that charged 10 euros per day which is the cheapest we’ve found so far traveling through Andalucía. The staff at the hotel were all very kind and helpful. I would come back to Cadiz just to stay at this hotel again, would highly recommend.

Nothing, it was perfect!

What a beautiful place to stay when visiting Cadiz. A stone’s throw from the train station, this is a haven of peacefulness. The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful, showing us the best places to visit on the local map. Our room was large, the beds very comfortable and the shower was great. The room had a coffee maker, a safe and big wardrobes. Breakfast was a joy each morning. Freshly cooked eggs, mushrooms and bacon, bread rolls, pastries, fresh fruit and cold meats and cheeses, what a choice! The courtyard/cloisters were so peaceful, with lots of seating around the walls. So beautiful. There are lots of restaurants in the passageway adjacent to the hotel and the hotel is perfectly placed for the rest of Cadiz including the fabulous beaches.

- the lady at the reception gave us excellent info about the city (with the discount to see the city tower), explained everything and was very nice and helpful through the whole stay -the whole afmosphere of the place is charming, calming and relaxing with some quiet backround music they play - amazing breakfast on the patio - also in a really nice calming mood and they offer lots of cookies and tasty things which i loved! - the staff was overall so kind

-there is a little bit of smell coming through (i guess) pipes but i dont think there is much they can do about it, i smelled it even in other places in the city

The hotel is very different from the norm. Receptionist Evylin who we met on arrival when checking in was fantastic. Very welcoming and informative. Hotel is in a great location near vg restaurants. Evylin offered good recommendations. We hope to return.

The lighting on the 1st floor worried us a bit, automatic but we felt it often didn't work as quickly as it should. Pretty dark if an emergency. The staff at check out were a bit unfriendly. Dog poo on the pavement outside the hotel, not the fault of the hotel but a bit off putting.

The location could not be better since it is within easy walking distance from both the train station and the bus station. It is also ideally located for walking to all the points of interest in the town. You can even walk to some of the excellent beaches. The hotel itself is superb. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the ambience is very peaceful and calming. As soon as you enter the cloisters and hear the background church choral music you know that you are not in a typical hotel. Our room (204) was a good size and had all the amenities anyone could want. There was more than enough space in terms of drawers and wardrobes for all our gear. Unlike in some hotels these days the lighting was good. The bathroom was one of the best we've had while traveling: spacious with shelves for everything. The breakfast area is small so there are 3 sittings which you have to book for in advance. There is a wide selection of typical Mediterranean breakfast items on offer, hot and cold.

The only drawback was that the wifi in the room was weak and unreliable but that was not really a problem since as soon as you enter the public areas the signal is strong.

Hotel Boutique Convento Cadiz is surely an interesting place to stay. Formerly a convent for monks, the place has been transformed into a hotel. On the plus sides: - Rooms were fairly spacious with views (some rooms are overlooking the street/train station, others the street) - Location is perfect - it's steps away from the train station/parking for cars, but close enough to the city to enjoy a nice stroll (10 minutes from the cathedral) - Wifi worked well, but didn't reach to some rooms - Breakfast was available, but the prices seemed really high - we did not end up having breakfast there; we opted for churros in the city

- The first room we had was reeking of sewage smell from the drain pipes. We did address this with the check-in desk, and we received a replacement room - The shower in the bathroom is funky - not the best design!

location was across the road from the train station but no noise. The hotel is a former convent attached to the church and within minutes of the old town. Cadiz is a small town and we appreciated the lovely Atlantic breeze after the heat of Seville. The hotel is beside everything. The staff were super and most helpful.

The rooms could have been bigger but that would obviously ruin the building. Big wide corridors. The courtyard is magnificient and overall very happy.

Wonderful staff. Excellent location. Good sized room. Nice old building that has been nicely updated. Good breakfast. Parking and train station are both a short walk away. Very fair price for the accommodations.

We happened to stay on the coldest weekend of the winter. The room was a bit cool. The hallways were quite chilly. (It is a converted convent.) I expect in better weather these things would not have mattered. The wifi signal was not too strong in our room (2nd floor and far from the reception). That made it a bit challenging to work.

strange but delightful atmosphere in this former nunnery -with working church attached and wandering monks occasionally glimpsed. Great breakfast in wonderful cloister/courtyard. Great location -many nearby restaurants and a shop walk from main sights. Extremely helpful front desk.

Bathrooms could do with an upgrade -shower not brilliant.

Breakfast was first class with both freshly cooked eggs & bacon and more traditional Spanish food - also lots of cakes, biscuits, fruit etc .

Internet access was very bad, almost non-existant ! Had to use our data most of the time & logging on was too difficult ! The TV was too small and had very few programs of interest and hardly any in English or other European languages - nearly all Spanish !
