Hotel San Roque

The hotel is a very old converted mansion house in the typical Catalonian style. Everywhere you look there are tasteful furnishings and modern art melded together with original features, lots of beautiful wood. The hotel was very clean, the pool was just the right size for a dip, the sun loungers on the pool terrace were very comfortable. The sun terrace on the roof was a very useful addition, with more loungers, tables and chairs and a shower. Our room was clean and comfortable, had everything we needed and was nice and quiet (even though we were on the ground floor on the inner courtyard). The staff couldn’t do enough for us, the service was excellent. There was a tasty menu of light snacks and drinks available during the day and the food served from the evening menu in the restaurant was tasty, interesting and of a high standard, they had a good wine list too. Breakfast was in true continental style and the same everyday, but the freshly baked cake changed everyday and there were choices of cheese and meats, plus crostini some days, Spanish omelette others. You can also order eggs and bacon if you want a hot breakfast. The coffee was excellent and there was a machine dispensing delicious, freshly squeezed orange juice on tap. Reception had a huge array of dvds to choose from if you wanted to finish your evening a bit earlier and relax in your room. The comfortable lounge has games and books available too. The inner courtyard has lovely modern seating, where you can sit and read, play games or have a drink. The hotel never felt busy or noisy, it was full whilst we were staying. The main square and access to all the local restaurants and the sea front was all just a few minutes walk away. Our stay was relaxing, peaceful and very enjoyable. We can’t wait to return.

Our room had a shower over an old style whirlpool bath, but you had to use a step to get up into the cubicle, which was a bit challenging and felt a little precarious, but I was informed upon checkout that the bathrooms are all gradually being refurbished and the old whirlpool baths are being phased out.

Beautiful hotel with great, professional staff. Lovely heated pool and a solarium on the roof. Restaurant also very good. There are buttons all through the hotel where you can call staff to get a drink or a snack.

Garachico is lovely, however a lot of bars and restaurants were closed. We ended up eating at the hotel both nights we were there, which we liked, but would have liked to eat elsewhere as well.

The hotel is gorgeous and centrally located, the main patio is a great place to enjoy a late afternoon drink. Breakfast had a decent range of options and our dinner was great. Every single staff member we talked to was friendly and helpful and remembered our personal preferences even if we were only there for two nights.

Overall, our only small disappointments were with the room : Considering the price for the stay, we were disappointed to not find more amenities in the room (no fridge, no snacks, no kettle...). Also, we had a duplex room and although the size was good, the layout was weird and made both parts of the room look empty.

The affable and efficient reception staff who as an example of their attention to detail noted that my birthday occurred during my stay & so found a bottle of Cava Reserva chilling in our room at the end of the day. The quality of the food coming out of the kitchen would not disappoint the most discerning diner and again, the level of service was exceptional. The building, it’s history and location and all the lovely places to sit also contributed to our stay. A wonderful few days.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel in an old town house the Centre of Garachico - with the special charm of a well maintained old building. the Breakfast and dinner at the pool area were as great as the many places to sit and relax during the day. very relaxing.

Room design is a bit outdated though in good shape and of very good quality wand originally designed.

One of a kind boutique hotel with very central location. Wonderful staff who went above and beyond to make our stay very unique. Classic music at the background created perfectly relaxed and laid back feeling. Excellent chef, we had dinner two nights at the hotel, food was delicious with good Canarian wines, lovely breakfast choices. Room was airy and beautiful, great bed with good pillows. Garachico is beautiful small town, three nights was enough to see everything thoroughly.

The staff was SO friendly: everyone was really kind and helpful and made us feel at home. The hotel is also beautiful and the atmosphere is really relaxing.

The pool schedules were a little restricted but this is to ensure customers can enjoy the eating area - so all in all we loved everything.

Unique interior which combined the historical building with modern features. In house restaurant was just never off with the food and the staff was on the spot at least for us all the time.

Nothing to complain about. Maybe a refreshing of some room furniture but at the moment that is not an big issue, maybe it can be in 2-3 years.

Excellent chef, delicious food and Canarian wines, lovely breakfast choice. Beautiful, comfortable rooms and en-suite. Unique and lovely artwork. International clientele. A heated pool would have been great but didn’t stop us from swimming.

Lovely staff and I’m certainly including the cleaning staff.It seemed a good team.We were upgraded to a two storey room unfortunately this included a spiral staircase which my partner has a phobia about.We moved to a lovely room the following day.My only slight criticism is the cleaning staff starting at 8.00 and the choice at breakfast,whilst being very nice was somewhat limited.
