Our experience at Hotel San Augustin was perfect in every way. The hotel building has both an historical and luxurious feel; a beautiful place which felt like an oasis and was in the heart of beautiful Icod de los Vinos. All the friendly staff was so accommodating and helpful and the hostess, Estefi, was like having a personal concierge who made us feel welcome and pampered. Her recommendations for exploring the local area helped ensure our stay in Icod de los Vinos was amazing. The hotel accommodated my dietary needs with gluten-free bread at breakfast. The breakfast offerings were varied and excellent. The lovely living spaces outside of our room were inviting and transported us back in time - so much to see and enjoy with lovely art, coffee table books, etc. The patio courtyard is as lovely a space as you could ask for for eating or hanging out with a glass of wine or coffee with lovely fountain and plants. We feel so fortunate to have found this place, it elevated our stay on Tenerife to pure dream vacation!

Hotel San Augustin was perfect in every way. We have no complaints whatsoever. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Be advised that parking is a couple blocks from hotel but it is easy to pull up to the front to load and unload.

The main door to the hotel leaves a small shopping street in Icod de los Vinos and then to your surprise you enter a charming courtyard filled with ferns and palms around a central fountain. Here, guests can enjoy the complimentary tea or coffee provided in a small self service area of the courtyard. There was also a bottle of wine in the 'tea corner' for guests to have a glass before going out in the evening. The rooms are compact and beautifully situated around the courtyard. Location takes some beating, being only a 5 minute walk to almost everything in Icod. The owner of the hotel could not have been more helpful, providing us with tips for walks and there are walking guides you can borrow during your stay. Breakfast was a buffet (meats, cheeses and pastries) with a banana smoothie provided each morning and a choice of cooked egg dishes. Very relaxing hotel in an excellent location.

We loved this hotel, there are no staff there in the evenings which might be a problem for some but it suited us perfectly

- Very large comfortable bed. The pillows in our room were too soft / flat for our liking but Estefania kindly replaced them (almost immediately!) with firmer ones when we enquired. - Nice breakfast with everything you could want (choice of eggs, homemade smoothie, cheeses, cold meats, fresh vegetables, cake, cereals etc). - Complimentary teas, coffee, wine for guests to enjoy in the afternoon / evening was a nice touch - We were keen to hike and Estefania gave us lots of tips on her favourite tours and in which areas to hike on a particular day to enjoy the best weather! Even though we had a hiking book with countless trails, her advice was really valuable. She was a fantastic host and was always on hand to give us suggestions on where to go, where to eat etc.

Only downside is that the sound isolation in the rooms is not great. You can hear the conversations from neighbouring rooms very easily. As we are relatively light sleepers, we bought some earplugs and then had no problems.

Breakfast: exceptional, started with a smoothie (bananas from the owner's farm), fruits & yoghurt, muesli, serrano ham, ham, eggs, bread, butter, honey, coffee, tea, as much as you like. It must be mentioned, that the hotel offers coffee and tea during the day and the evening for free on a "help yourself" base. Also there is always a bottle of red wine available as a complimentary service for free. Free bananans and small cakes add up to a wonderful possibility of a "sun downer" before going to bed. The hotel is "owner-lead" by Steffi, who is another USP of the hotel. She helps with any problems: for us she organized a taxi service to the Teide (we started mid-night), provided tips for the best restaurants, tips for the best beaches etc. Room: the hotel was built in 1776 and has an exemptional flair. The rooms are located in the first floor around a beautiful yard with palm trees and a fountain. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. From an overall perspective this is the most beautiful hotel we ever stayed at. It should be noticed that we prefer small hotels and an individual style over the bigger hotels with the "same as everywhere" international standard. Location: the hotel is in the old city of Icod. Restaurants and shops are close. If you arrive by bus (Titsa, as we did) the walk from the bus station (Estacion Icod) is around 15 mins. Be aware, that you have to go uphill (not long but steep). Thus maybe it is a good idea to go by bus to Puerto de la Cruz and take a taxi from there to Icod (costs around EUR 35 for the taxi). Otherwise Titsa bus 363 brings you from Puerto to Icod in around 1:10 hours. The hotel offers a parking place in a garage nearby for free. If you arrive by car, we suggest to stop at the hotel entrance to drop off the luggage and park the car somewhere nearby afterwards.

There is few space to dry wet swimming equipment, however we managed well. Some rooms open to the yard (ours did) and due to the building style of the historical yard, there is not too much light in the room. However the room itself was very beautiful and felt really comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was amazing. We arrived in a small charming town, perfect for walking. We parked our car in front of the hotel so we could check in. The host greeted us and we have never experienced such a great hospitality. She explained the things to see in the town and good places to eat. After that we walked into the hotel. It is an authentic hotel with (i think) 8 rooms. The patio is so beautiful and there is always some relaxing music on the background making it feel like paradise. The room itself has an amazing bed. It is one of the best beds we have ever slept in. There is a new shower with massage jets aswell. On the bar in the patio is wine, water, coffee and some muffins that you can take and consume in the patio or in your room. The parking is a 3-5minute walk (free of charge). The next morning we woke up and went downstairs. We instantly recieved a fresh smoothie and sat down in the patio. We got our breakfast, which was delicious and plently. The host is amazingly kind and if needed, you can ask her tips about what things to visit and where to eat. If you want a relaxing stay, this hotel is great. We loved our stay so much that we booked another night later during our holiday.

Basically nothing.

It is a really cozy home. It is a beautiful place with a special atmosphere. We felt very welcomed by our host and enjoyed the stay there. You have many opportunities for sitting and chilling inside the house. We got many recommendations about what we can do and what better not do, ... . We had good conversations and support. We also loved to have breakfast there. You have a variety out of you can choose ... yammmiii. One day we left early - for this we got a nice and good lunch package for our trip this day. This accommodation is also connected with Casa del Platano which is also nice to visit. Hotel San Agustin is in the city centre of Icod. Just around the corner there are many nice small shops. Restaurants and places for eating are not far away. All in all creates a good vibe. Parking is easy in the garage which is not far away - we got a parking card for free. We had a really good time. Thanks for creating such a nice place for having vacation.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel! Beautiful and simple restoration of lovely old building, very friendly and helpful staff, tasty breakfast and complimentary drinks&snacks. Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique and individual place to stay. Patio and lovely common areas, we ended up spending time at the hotel which we usually don't do!

Just a heads up - the building is old, so you can hear sounds from outside, but Icod is a calm place!

Estefania was welcoming and very helpful, giving recommendations of what to see, where to eat and answering all our questions promptly. We loved learning about the restoration of the property. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also very good, the fruit smoothie was delicious.

We chose one of the original rooms next to the road, which despite the new soundproof window, was still a bit noisy from the occasional passing car. We were also provided an access card for the nearby secure parking lot but it was only open till 9pm, so we ended up parking on the street most nights.

the location was perfect. the staff could not have been more helpful. we loved the hotel and its history. breakfast set us up for the day and the location was near so many restaurants for our evening meal. perfect for others like us that appreciate a certain ambience

Very clean rooms and great location. What impressed me more was how friendly and considerate the staff were. Because of my allergy, I couldn’t eat certain sorts of fruits, and every morning they gave me a separately prepared bowl of fruits at breakfast. We also received wonderful suggestions for sightseeing and restaurants.
