Hotel Zinema7 has great history as it was previously a Cinema Theatre, which is a lot to say in a city like San Sebastián with its strong ties to the 7th art form. The rooms are super comfortable and they all have movie stars decorations, which is a fun bonus track. The library / café space in the lobby is amazing, full of cinema books, magazines and old equipment which you can browse while you wait or simply want to have a read. The location is also great as it's in a very quiet area, near the river, with many bars and nice buildings around. You can easily walk anywhere in San Sebastián but there's also a bus stop near the hotel that will take you to the centre / coast.

The bathroom has a blurred glass door that does not hermetically close. This is pretty bad for privacy (visuals, noise, smells) if you're traveling with someone else. Not sure why they don't have regular doors, this is something they should change for better privacy and comfort.

Amazing hotel with interesting story and excellent facilities. Loved the spacious room with very comfortable bed. The location is a little away from the centre but it was perfectly walkable and I preferred it that way. It was only a 15 min walk to the bus station. Would easily stay again!

Breakfast could have offered a little more in the way of fruits (they had some but not cut in bowls like most other places do, just whole apples, bananas and such). I’m not criticising, I loved the breakfast regardless, their scrambled eggs were excellent.

Location: walking distance (20 mins) from beach & Old Town the walk takes you through the shopping district. San Sebastian is a fabulous destination in itself. Room & public areas had excellent wifi coverage.

The breakfast was a bit limited for the price (€14 if pre-booked, €17 if on the spot) The bar was soulless and expensive considering that the alternatives in the immediate area are much livelier & certainly much cheaper.

Creative use of movie star images made the decor and ambiance fun. Lovely, good sized quiet rooms with comfortable beds and nice bathroom.

As I told the desk, the slate floor in the shower was like glass when wet and there was nowhere to hold on nor any mat to step on for secure footing. We solved the problem by standing on towels in the shower but as it is now, it is a bad accident just waiting to happen. Other than this, the facilities were great. I hope the hotel at least gets secure mats in the shower. Older guests, especially, are at great risk.

More of the family/group type guests during my stay in August, which is not a problem, but makes some parts of the day harder to navigate. Rooms can be a little different to the photos (not in a bad way, just different)

Style: the hotel is unique. The movie themed public areas, and movie star themed rooms make this a memorable and quirky branding, which has universal appeal. Who does not like the movies? Every room is equipped with a dvd player, and there is an extensive library of dvd movies should you wish to chill in the room. Staff: friendly and helpful Breakfast: good value. Scrambled eggs and bacon, cold meats, cheeses, tortilla, pastries, juices, cereals, and rhe best coffee you will find in San Sebastián. Location: bus stop across the road connects with old town and beaches within 10 minutes on bus 26 or 28, at €1.85. Ask for Boulevard Trece. You can pay with cash. Within 10 minutes walk you can watch Real Sociedad at the Anoeta stadium. The 26 and 28 buses connect the old town, the hotel, and the stadium.

1. Gym hours start at 9am. For jet lagged adults such as us, ideally it is open at 6am 2. Too far away from the old town. It’s a 25minute walk. 3. Not much establishments near the hotel. 4. Breakfast selection was lacking. No pancakes / waffles.

Great room, breakfast, staff, location, cleanliness. The shower is amazing.

The building is not really well isolated, it can get noisy at night due to its location. I woke up every night with the trash collectors and with the occasional partygoers on the streets. We were a group with several rooms and we all felt that the room feels pretty cold even if you set the thermostat shows a warm temperature. You need to crank the thermostat up quite high to notice the warmth.

Location 20 minutes walk from centre and old town, but regular tram service in front of hotel. Modern hotel with good, clean, comfortable room. Limited choice of restaurants nearby, but can recommend the excellent hotel breakfast - pre-order for a discounted price.

Unfortunately, it was raining heavily on our arrival and overnight. Due to the design of the building, any rain drops down from the external cladding on to the metal cills at the bottom of the full length windows, resulting in a steady, sleep disturbing drumming noise ! The reception staff acknowledged that the hotel was aware of this unresolved problem ! Advisable to bring ear plugs in case of unwelcome future rainy nights !

Staff very helpful, pleasant and informative. The room was fine and breakfast was 13 euro’s if booked the night before but I would say it was better value in the cafe attached to the hotel, which was just next door. As the choice did not suit us. The hotel is approx 25 minute walk into the old town which wasn’t bad or 3.70 euro’s for 2 people on the bus which stopped just outside the hotel or approx 7 euro’s in a taxi. It was good the hotel had parking as parking near would of been difficult.
