Gar Anat Hotel Boutique

The staff were amazing and helpful. They made excellent recommendations on restaurants and things to do. One restaurant they recommended Minagua, was the best restaurant I had dinner at in Spain. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but it was offerred. They had a library and tea room, which was nice. There were no other amenities, but that was fine with me. It's located right in the middle of everything, so it was an easy walk to most places, though I took a taxi to the Alhambra, but that was because of the heat. Because it is in the middle of everything, it did get a little noisy, but not too bad.

It was a little noisy because it was located in the middle of everything. The recycling truck in the morning was pretty loud, but not overbearing. There were a lot of steps. One has to step into the hotel, and one has to walk up a couple of steps to get into their room. None of these issues were hassles.

Gar Anat's location was perfect! Close enough to the main attractions in Granada however it's tucked into small side streets away from the hustle and bustle. The Realejo quarter is an hidden gem in Granada as it lacks the main attractions yet it hold a wonderful collection of historic structures, bars and restaurants giving it the feel of the 'real' Granada. Plus, everything we wanted to see in Granada was within easy walking distance. Entering the hotel is like walking into an oasis of calm after a busy day in Granada. At night the rooms are exceptionally quiet even on the weekends. The hotel staff were exceptional, always greeting us as we came and went, and very helpful with our requests. They really enhanced our stay!

As other reviews have noted, if you are travelling in your own car, parking at Gar Anat can be a little nerve-wracking if you are not accustomed to driving in tight spaces. Irma at the front desk was very helpful and encouraging to get us parked the first time. After we navigated the parking once or twice, it was not too hard at all! Note that it's possible to find your own parking at other garages which are easier to access however in this case you will not be able to drive up to Gar Anat for loading/unloading due to traffic controls in the city centre.

, I was very disappointed on how they dealt with our concern. I booked two rooms for 2 nights, one for ourselves and one for our friends who were travelling with us. Unfortunately our friend ended up in the hospital in Madrid and was not able to make it to Granada. When I got to the property I told them that my friends would not be able to come and asked if they could cancel the room. The person at the front desk said that he would ask. I asked again later in the day and got the same response. I asked the next day and was told that he was still looking into it. When we left I asked once more and was told sorry there was nothing they could do. I was not impressed that they did not cancel the room especially since I told them early the first day we arrived. At the very least they should have reimbursed us the second night. We went to Seville from Granada and had the same issue. The hotel in Granada cancelled both nights for us in the spot. So while it was a nice hotel I would not return nor recommend it to anyone.

A great hotel in a very central location for sightseeing and eating out. Tapas bars and restaurants are within a few minutes by foot. Beautiful hotel with a fountain inside, a relaxing area with tea & coffee, books and a computer, and there is also a"wishes tree" where guests can hang a piece of paper containing their wish. Beautiful spacious room with very comfortable twin beds for my daughter and I, a great powerful shower and bath, toiletries, a hairdryer, plenty of plugs and space. Nice breakfast in a beautiful cave setting. Nespresso machine for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, a choice of juices, breads, pastry, cold meats, cheeses, tortilla, eggs, yoghurts and cake. Lovely staff, very welcoming and helpful. They put up with my wanting to practise my elementary Spanish, recommended restaurants, helped me book transport for my way back and even found me a safety pin when I needed one...and always with a smile!

This is the only property to stay at in Granada. Wonderful location. Super responsive and accommodating. Was a pilgrims hotel so very cool yet all the comforts of home. Afternoon tea and communal breakfast in the old tunnel. Lobby had a wishing tree. You must get your Alhambra tickets from them as a better price and you get the full tour with a wonderful guide (not just audio). Rooms are very quiet with soft linens, beds, and pillows. They have all the amenities. You can store your luggage with them as well. Very helpful on things to do so make sure you read the information they send you.

Very clean and comfortable room with an excellent view of the Alhambra (we stayed in the top floor room). The hotel was very well located and short walking distance to the centre of town. The building has an interesting history too. Reception staff were very helpful for everyone needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Not a problem for us but the stairs up to the top floor suite (not serviced by the lift) may be challenging for those with mobility issues so probably worth mentioning when you book if that would be a problem.

The location was excellent. We stayed on the ground floor street facing room, it was spacious and the bed was huge and super comfortable, a little noisy but not too bothersome. Interiors were modern and tasteful, stylish. Magda at the front desk was very helpful and all her recommendations were perfect.

Driving there was tricky, we had real difficulty in finding the hotel through the extra narrow streets ,even with their photo instructions and the parking itself was very tight at the near by carpark. Breakfast was not super and definitely overpriced for what it was, although our daughter said she loved it, especially the fruit selection!

We arrived a day early due to schedule change. Front desk graciously worked out a room change so we did not have to switch. They helped immensely. Breakfast was delicious and well-worth the 15 Euros. Wonderful and quaint establishment. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our room, walking through the city and back to Gar Anat! This was the best place we had the while trip. It felt authentic, kind, and like home

That we were not able to stay longer!

The breakfast was excellent, including the room which is architecturally interesting. It's set up with one long communal table though I ate solo due to the early hour.

Despite good insulated windows there is some street noise, as a few clubs are down the street. Nothing overly distracting, but some noise. The central part of the hotel may have once been open air, so that space was frigid. The rooms of course have heat to adjust to comfort. The breakfast room was chilly as well, but expected during my winter visit.

I have dietary restrictions so it would be nice to be able to order a la carte for breakfast. When this isn’t offered, we eat breakfast off the premises. Our room had a small table & chair set which was very handy but our friends room didn’t. They had plenty of space for it so maybe something to consider for all rooms. There was no mini bar fridge in the rooms. Its always nice to have one in order to keep our own food fresh. We were on a month long vacation and this was the only hotel that didn’t have one.
