Hostal Montaloya

The location in Madrid could not be better. You have everything in just a short walk from the accommodation. The room was comfortable, basic and very clean. I cannot emphasis how clean this place is and the housekeeping staff where incredible. Bed was good and facilities in the room was adequate for exploring this incredible City. Wifi, bar fridge all add to the good side of this room which was bright and cheerful.

It's basic, good but, basic. Not the fault of the hotel but, it does get noisy outside at night in the square, in my experience until 4am at least. Music, shouting and talking, this is City life. The walls in our room were thin, you could hear other guests using their bathrooms.

The environment was very good, the bathroom and toilet were clean, it had a good air conditioner, the security system was good and there was a card, there was no problem at all to enter and exit, it was excellent in every way and the environment was completely calm, everything was available, I say Be sure to choose this hotel and enjoy

In my opinion, this hotel is the best location, it is clean and excellent, everything was good, I enjoyed it very much, it was accessible to all places of interest, the internal staff was very kind and friendly, he gave directions, his name was Camilo. I will definitely travel I will choose here next

It was so nice, clean & very close to the metro, we stayed in a quiet room as per our request so it wasn't exactly like the one in the picture, but the owner was so nice and very helpful

There was one of the stuff who was having his shift at night, we asked him for toilet paper, at first he didn't understand and then after he did he kept wondering why were the toilet papers finished so quickly! And he didn't offer to help at all, we didn't like his attitude, but anyways he's not there everyday

Location was near Sol, metro outside the door, rooms were cleaned everyday to a fresh standard , staff so helpful, we were there for the half marathon, the lady at reception was so great with every aspect of our trip, matro, race, taxi to airport, she was so lovely.

Nothing, was just so enjoyable, I could not say anything was wrong from start to finish

Great service given by the staff - especially by Camilo who welcomed us on the first day so nicely and was the last one to escort us out to the taxi.. I’ll start off with Shabat – As observant Jews it was very important for us to be able to get in the room applying no electronic key, and to have the AC on the entire day – something they were very understanding and helpful with. The room itself is pretty comfortable and convenient – we were also able to cook food on the stove, and had daily great cleaning service (they also washed out dishes!). The entrance and hallways always smelled nice and were clean. Anything we asked for – they seemed to have.. Just to name a few – a power plug adapter, a kettle and even an iron.. In terms of location: Right across the street from the hotel is the metro – very very convenient for taking advantage of their fast and useful transportation system. Also, it was a 7 minute walk from Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol and 10 minutes from Gran Via. Overall, great experience

Excellent and central location. Very clean and helpful staff. Property was very secure with a card system on the front door, each floor and individual rooms so you can leave your possessions and feel safe. Staff are helpful in particular Miky who helped me with taxis etc. Property has excellent cafes and restaurant very close by as well as a Carrefour and Lidl a block away.

The square outside can be quite noisy at night, this issue can be easily fixed by asking for a quiet room and wearing earplugs.

Quiet, comfortable and clean room. My room was facing inward and not out toward the street so I heard more or less no noise at night. It is a party area, so you shouldn't book a hostel in Tirso De Molina anyway if you are preoccupied with noise. Staff were very helpful, the room was cleaned when asked. My room had a TV, a mini fridge, a wardrobe, private bathroom and hair dryer. Would stay again.

The charging port next to the bed wasn't able to accept large power adaptors whilst the fridge was on so I had to unplug the fridge to charge my phone.

This hostel has a super convenient central location and the staff is very accommodating.

The mattress was quite stained and the room was tidy and dust free, but looked like a good deep clean wouldn’t hurt. It’s true that the shower is on the smaller side, but it worked for us.

Like - location. Cleaness. Do not like - that cleaners do not come every day with theirselves and they need like "permission" from us. Also, do not like - that stuff do not know english :( it is a big discomfort for tourists.

Excellent location, very close to the subway, shops, restaurants and touristic attractions. The room was cozy. Good air conditioning. The staff was helpful, specially the lady that was at the reception during the weekdays.

As the window of the room was extremely close to the other building in front of it, the curtains had to remain closed all the time and there was no natural light. The bathroom has a good size but the room itself is really small. It was ok for me as a single person though.
