Amazing hotel, great location, amazing rooftop bar & pool, and very friendly staff.

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times now and absolutely love it. However, there are too many people who are not hotel guests in the rooftop bar at night, which means hotel guests do not get the full benefits of paying to stay in the hotel - admittedly, this was frustrating. It's nearly impossible to get a seat at night on the weekends and takes a long time to get a drink due to the number of people who are not hotel guests being allowed in, and no provision being made to prioritise hotel guests. It should be possible for guests to reserve seating on the weekends, considering the money they have spent to stay in the hotel (primarily due to the facilities and location).

Location is perfect! You are steps from just about everything you want and need. Right around the corner from the hotel there are numerous small plazas with restaurants and bars with outdoor seating. Staff was professional and courteous. The room was well equipped and as advertised. The rooftop bar has the best views and sunsets in town. We had the “standard king with sea view” room on the 6th floor. The little terrace was a nice touch, especially for smokers as it has a small table, 2 chairs, and an ashtray.

We liked everything.

The location is great-- adjacent to the port and the cathedral. Shops and restaurants right outside, as well as a nice park area for walking and a playground. Beds were comfortable, view was amazing (but below the fourth floor, I think the view would be just trees, not the water). The rooftop restaurant and bar looked nice. The pool was very busy. It was refreshing but small, but there is a free towel service poolside. Service was attentive and top-notch. The view of the cathedral and the sunset from the rooftop was almost worth the price alone.

There was a bit of a funky smell from the bathroom drains (not that uncommon in my experience in Spain, but a little surprising given the price of the room). This is nitpicky, but the pool could use a little updating. There isn't any tile around the inside of it, just paint, and the paint is peeling.

The people of Malaga and the Marriot Hotel gave my 85 year old mother & I the warmest of welcomes and we had the most wonderful time! The hotel has a young and friendly vibe and with a stunning view over this lovely city. So many amazing sights, galleries and shops a stones throw away and the hotel's position right next to the Cathedral was ideal. Everything was of the highest of standards at the hotel, with a lovely rooftop bar and restaurant and staff who couldn't do enough for you. Thank you so much!

The lifts are a bit annoying sometimes but ok once you get the hang of them! Going home!

The location was good for the beach and the marina and the room nice and well serviced . The staff, particularly on reception , were very helpful and pleasant. We stayed bed and breakfast and were really pleased breakfast was served untill 11-00 am - we hate to have to rush in the morning on holiday and the chef cooking fresh eggs, crepes etc was very good and sociable . Was nice to have entertainment in the bar .

The parking facility at the hotel was very expensive for paying guests . Would have been good to have more sun beds placed in the gardens - there were onl a few and we missed out on several days . A menu with more choice in the bar would have been useful .

The location of the hotel - the main shops/bars/restaurants just minutes walk away but an easy stroll to the seafront and beach - lovely roof top pool, the staff were all very attentive and polite and the room was clean and comfortable. The blackout curtains were so good we slept in on a couple of occasions! A definite bonus for us!

Nothing really! It is right by a main road so sometimes traffic noise was disturbing but that was to be expected

The staff was outstanding. My room was beautiful. I had a phenomenal view of the port and Mediterranean Sea. I was given drinks on the house, a giant cookie, and a scarf. The location could not have been better. It was fabulous. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The rooftop pool was very nice. The views from the roof were awesome. The hotel is right next door to the cathedral, too.

There is nothing I didn't like.

the location is perfect for exploring Malaga as its right in centre and a short stroll to all bars and restaurants. The staff are very helpful and even gave us a upgrade with sea view. the room was spacious and clean with a gift of a cake and wine. the breakfast is really good with lots of choice.

the service round the pool area is a bit chaotic with not enough staff or loungers for the guests. Could do with larger area for people to sit and easier method of getting drinks in peak time.

fab location, modern, clean and tidy. the rooftop bar is amazing, great for sundowners

we had a lovely corner room which had 2 aspects and full sun despite it being the end of Feb. this was great except the hotel doesn’t switch the aircon on until later in the year. after our first sleepless night they provided a fan and we took the duvet filler out and used the cotton cover as a thicker sheet….it kind of worked but we didn’t get a good nights sleep any of the nights there as we were either too hot or too cold.
