I stayed here now for the 4th or 5th time over the years and this time about a week. The staff were extremely accommodating and catered to all my requests as needed. The breakfast was redundant but you always had the option of requesting something special for breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful with a variety and always with a fruit platter, fruit juice fresh pureed and tea or coffee. Everything was neatly laid out on the table. The room was very comfortable with a lovely private balcony, the view wasn't very nice, it just showcased the streets and shops. The rooms were cleaned nicely and sheet changes must be requested or you will have the same sheets throughout. The pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was very utile. The shower was excellent with various options. The water was always hot and lovely. Everything worked great. Wonderful towels in the bathroom very large and plush. There was a supply of shampoo, body wash, bar soaps. You must request them to be replenished. Toilet paper can be requested. There is a fridge in the room that is very useful to fill it with things you need. The elevator works wonderful. Nearby is the Sathosa where you can get groceries but no facial tissues or toilet paper, that you can buy in the adjoining paper store. The paper store has so much in it associated with paper. Nearby are innumerable stores from electronics, to groceries, to toys, to household items. The Kandy City Center is about 8-10 blocks away, but very near. It is a great location to walk around. Lovely restaurants nearby are the Global Kitchen, Summer Indian, Italian restaurant is Burger & Panini within a few blocks, there are also less clean restaurants for local fares like dosas, hoppers, and similar items. I really enjoyed staying here and hope to being here again with the lovely staff.

An extra toilet paper roll would be appreciated and two towels instead of one.

This is a proper hotel, we had a large nice and clean room just as we'd expect back in England. With a proper working shower. The only downside was it can be noisy, as they obviously don't need double glazing so the widows let in the City noise. Trucks and cars starting up and driving by and people talking and shouting in the street. None of this really bothered us as we were so tired after walking miles to see the sights. The hotel is well placed for the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which is a 15 to 20 minute walk. There are lots of restaurants in easy reach too. Nice to get a refreshing glass of juice on arrival

Centrally located, clean, efficiently run with good advice and help from all staff. Didn’t have breakfast. This hotel should be read in the context that customers usually stay 1, 2, 3 nights whilst breaking their journey at Kandy so regularly checking in and out at all times of day. It’s not a relaxing base. In this regard it provides very good value for money including a free Tuk Tuk pick-up or drop-off from bus/train station which they honoured.

There is little sound insulation, with guest arriving and leaving early or late with doors slamming and conversations outside your room. But this is really a problem of guest behaviour and not the hotel.

I am surprised this hotel has only 2 stars on Booking.com. Certainly it is not luxurious but it has pretty much everything that you need. We stayed in a family room and it was very nice. A lot of space to accommodate four of us, nice and comfy beds. A small fridge and a kettle were a pleasant addition so we could feed kids in the room. Everything was clean and working, didn’t look shabby or anything.

I didn’t like that the hotel staff had not reply to my pre-stay messages on B.com and I couldn’t arrange a taxi to pick us up/to railway station through the hotel. Finding a car at the station on your own is quite stressful in Kandy.

Location was perfect, easily accessible by walking as the streets are crowded with vehicles. Walking distance from the bus stop. (10-15mnts walk) and Dhalada Maligawa. Can find many restaurants to eat or can walk to KCC as well from the hotel Rooms and bathrooms are very clean and well maintained just as shown in the pictures.friendly staff!

As it’s situated in the middle of the city , no big view from the room and exterior is like a just a building, no entrance or garden. But it serves the purpose as it’s walking distance to everywhere

This is a small hotel in a side street away from busy street noise but surrounded by lots of shops and eateries. Excellent location. The room was simple and exceptionally clean. Fridge, coffee making facilities and tv. Everything I needed. Adequate breakfast. Staff were wonderful and helpful. And drop off at the railway station was included in the price. I made a good choice with this hotel and would certainly stay here again if I visited Kandy.

Nothing.

After some pretty disappointing stays in other Sri Lankan hotels, we were lucky to stay at the Ceyloni. The staff was very attentive and made us immediately feel welcome at the hotel (something we completely missed at the other locations). They made sure we had everything we needed. The room was nice, cozy and clean. The breakfast was a great mix of sri lankan and western food. We recommend and would definitely come back! 😊

Like other hotels in the city center it can be a bit noisy at night. But nothing a good pair of ear plugs cant fix :)

Very clean and good hotel in the busy city. Very tasty breakfast, and the best service ever! Ruwan was working so hard and kept smiling all the time. Shower water was also very hot. He makes reservations for Kandy dancers without asking for a commission. The price was very good and the service and staff 10!!!!! The manager was also very easy to talk to, he is a native Kandy resident so he knows everything. Hotel is walking distance of the temple of the tooth (end of the street). Must visit this hotel!

Good location, in the corner of two main streets. Walking distance to the Temple of the Tooth and lake, also to the railway station (if travelling with backpack). Lots of eateries and other places of interest nearby. Very kind and helpful staff, ask them if you hesitate to decide yourself. Accessible by car. Big room with good shower and WiFi.

We got an unforgettable experience through our holiday. It was a great decision what we select this hotel to stay those days. The manager and his craw is really friendly from the beginning to the end. Always they look after our all kind of requested needs. They gave a worm welcome us to the hotel. Fooda and beverage really good. Hotel is very clean too. They provide a high quality service to every guest including both of local and foriegn travelers. This is the best place we spend our holidays in Kandy ever.
