The breakfast was good (the usual fresh fruit, freshly made omelette, pastries and other cooked options). The room was amazing on first view - very spacious with a spa bath! - but had a couple of issues (see below). The staff were lovely. It was just around the corner from Tuk Tuk Wine & Dine where I had a delicious and inexpensive fish curry for lunch. I went back in the evening for a cocktail and live music.

Location-wise it was a bit far from the beach. I walked but had to detour because of flooded streets! And then the beach was disappointing (wrong time of year). The spa bath looked great but I didn't fill it enough (that would take a lot of water) so when I turned it on the water sprayed everywhere (very funny). The desk was a bit cramped with the tea and coffee facilities there as well, but I'm always happy to have a desk. There were no hangers in the wardrobe.

Like almost all other hotel guests: - There are no cushions on the sunbeds. (I sat on the lounger briefly after swimming without a towel and the brown colour of the loungers stuck to me). - The wood around the pool urgently needs to be replaced. - Pool towels should be disposed of and new ones bought. Apparently many hotels in the area have an investment backlog. But at least the cushions and replacement of pool towels don't cost a lot. I think it is a massive business mistake to constantly receive poorer ratings because of this.

This is a hidden gem in Negambo. I had doubts when we fist arrived at the gate but once we went inside, it opened up to a little paradise. Hats off to all staff from the reception to restaurant. They made sure our stay was comfortable and even entertained our ad-hoc meal requests. The rooms were clean and spacious. Even the bathrooms were huge. The pool helped us to cool down and keep the kids entertained. The restaurant have a good ala-carte menu with lots of options. We choose to go to a near by 4-star hotel for the lunch buffet one of the days, which was 5 mins away. On the day we were going to the airport, the bell boys helped us to weigh our luggage using the hotel's scale. I would highly recommend Seahorse Hotel to anyone.

The hotel is located on a quiet street, the size of the room corresponded, a large balcony, cleaning every day, the bathroom had shampoo, conditioner & shower gel. The mattress was comfortable, two types of pillows There was also a kettle and a refrigerator in the room The hotel is very a good restaurant Salt cooks really tasty, the service is also very nice. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the main street and the sea. The staff is very polite & Helpful. Excellent hospitality.

Fantastic little hotel in the heart of Negombo. The staff was very attentive and friendly and offered us a welcome drink and a cold tower at check-in. The breakfast (and all other meals) offered at the hotel was splendid, very varied and delicious!

The hotel was a little hard to get to (narrow roads that would become flooded with the rain).

Very friendly small hotel, lovely staff, beautiful pool area, a well-kept garden area, very clean, situated in a peaceful and pleasant location in the suburbs of Negombo.

We loved the hotel decor and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed both breakfast and lunch at the hotel. There was a lot of choice. Walking distance to plenty of bars restaurant and the beach.

Our room was quite noisy in the morning and at night. We stayed in the room above the restaurant / bar.

Perfect location with short walk to beach and end of street to restaurants. Great pool with cocktails. Hotel staff especially restaurant and bar staff were just lovely and very accommodating.

The main door to our apartment didn’t lock which didn’t matter as our bedrooms did.

Food was excellent as were the cocktails. Staff very attentive.

Decking around pool dangerous- needs urgent total replacement. Sun loungers extremely uncomfortable- need cushions. Door 1003 needs urgent repair, complained many times, told needs ‘hard shove’ - not good enough.

Great service . Thank you to everyone including Lala who looked after us. He also accompanied us on the boat tour , feeding monkeys , beach tea. Great high tea area. We had a great time .

Shower door broken . Spa isn’t working properly, no lights for using late in the evening. Grass needs trimming .
