Villa Kapuru

The house is beautiful and there are so many nice places to sit which are outside the room but still within the house. The pool is really fun and just long enough to swim. We opted for the Sri Lankan breakfast with fruit and curd and were very happy. The staff was amazing and helped us find taxis and they even arranged for us to have massages at an ayurvedic place near by. The center offer a great range for a very good fee. The staff are real animal lovers and there are many rescue cats in the garden and courtyard. When they find an abandoned kitten, starving and ill, they take them to the vet and nurse them back to health. The asked when we arrived whether we would like them to keep the cats in a cage while we were there, but as none of us was allergic we did not mind and the kittens are really super cute.

I cannot think of anything that can be improved. We had a perfect stay.

Really cute and comfortable place to arrive in Sri Lanka, settle and organise your trip :) Villa Kapuru is in Negombo, super close to the airport and walking distance from the main road of the city with restaurants, shops, as well as the beach. The rooms are clean and comfortable, there is a pool to freshen up and the breakfast is very nice, served in the pool-patio area. The staff is really nice and helpful too, I had to send some things over there and there was no problem - thanks a lot!! Also, they have a super nice restaurant in the town: Centella Bistro, so you should check that out too!!

The villa is very lovingly and tastefully furnished! Together with the extremely friendly and helpful staff, adorable pets, lots of plants, views of the river and the pool, it's a real place to feel at home. And if you want to go to the beach to watch breathtaking sunsets or have something for dinner, it only takes 5 minutes! All in all, I can only recommend it for a start in Sri Lanka!

Only Negombo itself didn't appeal to me too much, so I spent all the more time in the accommodation, which I don't regret! :)

We stayed here at the end of our trip having also stayed at the beginning, because we loved the place so much. The owners are such lovely people. if you like cats and like to relax in a quiet place in a location only a short distance from the airport then this place is perfect. The breakfast is delicious and they also have opened a restaurant nearby where the food is amazing. The swimming pool is nice and clean and they also can arrange massages and spa treatments nearby which we really enjoyed.

We stayed at Villa Kapuru for one night before heading home. The hotel boasts a large pool and a friendly bunch of dogs and cats that roam without being bothersome. The room, while generally nice and clean, could use some improvement in cleanliness. Breakfast was pleasant. However, the downside was the need for maintenance and modernization in both the hotel and rooms.

There was a lingering smell of humidity, and the air conditioner made a powerful and annoying noise, forcing us to turn it off and endure a sweaty night, providing more of a breeze than proper cooling.

The location of the property is only a 7 min walk from the main high street next to the beach. The room was spotless and the bathroom was clean and really well presented. The pool is great - clean and a good size. Staying here was a peaceful end to our time in Sri Lanka. We also had a few hours left after check in before our flight and they let us store our bags at the property so we could go and have lunch in the town.

We waited quite a long time at reception for someone to check us in - we had to walk around the property looking for someone. And near the end of our stay, we tried to organise a late checkout which we were promptly denied as they had other guests to check in near the time we wanted to leave. The wifi that they provide doesn’t work so you have to connect to the upstairs wifi.

Villa Kapuru is really a lovely hotel and a perfect place to rest and relax for your first stay in Sri Lanka after you have arrived from the aiport. The room are spacious and clean . Nice bathroom. The pool is not big but really nice. You are in town but it feels you are in the middle of nature with all the palm trees, and the garden at the back with lots of birds singing. Negombo beach is just a ten minutes stroll. The breakfast was tasty, and the service great. The the two owners are really helpful and kind. The best thing for us were the fifteen very sweet cats, all rescued from the streets by one of the owners. If you are a cat lover this is the place to be but also otherwise just great. We are planning on staying again on our way back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Kapuru. We chose to stay at Villa Kapuru for our last week before departing Sri Lanka due to the good reviews… and yes they were accurate. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood within a short walking distance to a train station (Kattuwa), the beach, restaurants and shops. We would highly recommend that one includes breakfast when booking as it was very good. Also, we ate most nights at their restaurant Centella located about 1.1 km away. The food was delicious and priced right. Thank you Denis and everyone for being friendly and helpful.

From the moment we arrived we realised we had found a little gem! We received a warm welcome from the staff even though it was only 6am. We were offered somewhere to relax until our room was ready. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. The bathroom was gorgeous! So was the breakfast! Denis gave us great advice and tips for our stay in Sri Lanka and onward travel. Having Dusty the dog, Lucky and the cats made it feel so homely. Highly recommend!

Leaving!

This is now my "go to" place to stay whenever I am in Negombo, so that should tell you everything! I stayed here both at the start and at the end of my holiday. The hosts are wonderful and go out of their way to make your stay a positive experience. The location is really quiet yet only a few minutes walk away from Beach Road and the beach itself. The pool is crystal clear and the breakfast is excellent. If you need any local information or help with onward transportation then don't hesitate to ask them to arrange it - the drivers they use are really reliable and offer very good rates. The driver they found to take me down to Tangalle and then to pick me up from Polhena Beach and bring me back to Negombo was wonderful - he even called ahead to my guest house in Polhena to confirm his arrival time! An added bonus for many will be the gorgeous cats that the owners have rescued - they are incredibly well looked-after, well-behaved and unobtrusive, but they won't say no to being petted if you feel so inclined :-) If you are looking for a great dining experience while in Negombo the owners how have a restaurant - Centella Bistro - on Beach Road, about 15 minutes walk away and the food is really good! I ate there twice and was not disappointed.
