The property is set in the most wonderful of locations! Opening the wooden doors in the morning to such a perfect view is something money has trouble buying these days!! On check in, Joseph (I think that’s his name) was great, telling us everything we needed to know. Breakfast was continental, and although not everybody’s taste, was refreshingly nice (Even though I’m British I found it just great). I noticed a few reviews of Iseltwald mention it’s great for one night as there isn’t much to do, but we stayed 5 nights and found it was an ideal place as the buses and boats run often, and you always get a seat. I would definitely stay here again, the only problem is that there is so many places to visit in Switzerland. My Wife rated this getaway as her best, and we’ve traveled quite a bit! It’s hard to review this property because we want people to stay there so it stays open, but we also want to keep it a closely guarded secret as it’s just too special! The hotel is a typical Châlet style. Our room was very generously sized and we had the most exquisite view over the water. It’s not been decorated for a while, but that only adds to its charm. The restaurant on site was superb, we didn’t even think of eating anywhere else! We will be back.

There is no air conditioning, so it could get quite warm in summer. Be aware, being an older building there are no lifts, so you need to carry your cases upstairs.

The room was cute and quaint with a great view and balcony.

Upon arrival one of the first things the gentleman said to us was “I called you to see where you were.. and emailed too”. This was off putting. Our room was paid for and there was not a set time which we were required to arrive by, we got there shortly after 6pm. I was confused as to why we were called as if our room was going to be given away. It wasn’t, thank goodness. Also the soap bottle in our room was empty.

Location is excellent. Easy access to main attraction points. Staff was very good and responsive.

Breakfast needs an improvement. Appreciate if it would be possible to add hot meal (fried eggs, omelet, sausages, etc.). Not good variety of vegetable and fruits. Rooms need to be better equipped. Tea pot or coffee machine would be good asset. The room needs either small refrigerator, or mini-bar.

Hotel Chalet du Lac is a very well-run hotel. The staff and proprietor are very helpful and friendly, and really make you at home with their cheery manner. The location is superb - heavenly - on a most picturesque stretch of the Brienzersee. There is ample car parking. You can walk out of the hotel, across the (quiet) road and step straight into the lake to go swimming. Bliss. There is a lakeside walk, where, if you're feeling energetic, you can walk all the way to the Giessbach Grand Hotel for drinks on their terrace. The Chalet du Lac cuisine is very good, though the restaurant is closed on Monday evenings, but you can stroll along the road and eat at the cheap-and-cheerful Lake Lodge instead. The hotel terrace is a very pleasant place to dine. We will return.

The rooms, though picturesque chalet-style, have bathrooms that are not as modern as many corresponding hotels. The bedrooms are not air conditioned, only the reception areas.

This was an Absolutely Fantastic Hotel with one of the most beautiful settings I have ever seen, right on the blue green waters of Lake Brienz. The rooms we’re charming. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The view of the chateau across the water with the Alps in the background was beyond spectacular! I absolutely recommend paying extra for a room with a view of the lake. The experience of total tranquility combined with the coziness of the Swiss chalet style room was priceless.

Everything was perfect. Huge parking. Quiet place. Welcome fruits in the room. And amazing view into Augsmatthorn and Sugiturm peaks which were on my list to hike up :-) And the bed! OMG - the most comfortable pillows I have used in the hotels ever. Even wanted to bring one home :-) Two mornings out of free slept longer than planned - either pillows were really so comfy, either I was tired after the hikes. Probably both :-) Breakfast - as expected - nothing fancy, but really good as for the 3 star hotel. Food in the restaurant - delicious!

Beautiful location in the lakeside. Very characterful architecture in Swiss chalet style. Very helpful and welcoming staff throughout and even the owners had time to talk despite their busy days. Very well arranged outside restaurant terrace to eat with the staff adjusting the sunshade umbrellas to keep the sun off our faces during dinner. Excellent quality dinner of fresh local fish cooked by the Owner chef....delicious!!. Very comfortable and spacious bedroom with huge balcony overlooking the lake. Clean and very well equipped bedroom and ensuite. Good spacious carpark.

This quaint hotel in picturesque Iseltwald was warm, hospitable, and helpful. The hotel is set on Lake Brienz. We were able to travel by boat from Iseltwald to a wonderful waterfall and famous hotel in Geissbach. The restaurant served an excellent dinner. Their breakfast had a nice variety of choices.

We had to walk from the bus station to the hotel, but it wasn’t too difficult. It was about 100 yards with our luggage to the hotel.
