Energy Inn

unexpected find. good location with supper options around. free toiletries were of good quality. an ikea cot was provided as requested and swapped to a floor bed when we found our toddler too big for the cot. cot came w pillow and kids comforter. also provided a small stool and bathtub for babies/toddlers. staff were accommodating to our requests and one went the extra mile to help search for activities for my kid on a rainy day in taipei. one of our deluxe double room came with a bathtub which was a surprise.

not right smack in the middle of xmd, but it’s really just 5 mins away and that could be a plus too.

We felt completely relaxed and taken care of by the kind reception staff, attentive cleaning staff, and the lovely breakfast staff. The whole team works as a single, friendly unit to ensure things go smoothly for guests. Anything you need help or advice with, they go the extra mile to ensure you have it. All floors are accessible by elevator or stairs. The hotel / hotel / inn leads right into a side street that connects to the broader Ximen district and MRT station within minutes. There are many food options around, from vegetarian, street food, hot pot, healthy foods, etc. The breakfast is phenomenal and healthy with the option of either Chinese or western food each day. The rooms are spacious (we had a normal double room). The inn welcomes families, couples, and groups of friends it seems like. You will be glad to choose this delightful spot while in Taiwan.

Despite the ample AC it is a bit humid in the rooms for a few short moments prior to turning on the system. This is true for most places in Taiwan though. Just embrace it :)

Although it is located in Ximending which is known for being busy, the hotel is tucked back in a side street away from all the noise. It is a 10 minute walk to the Ximen metro station exit 6 and has everything you would want within a block (restaurants, convenient stores, coffee shops, shopping and street food). This was THE BEST experience we have ever had with the staff at a hotel. They are kind, caring, really care about your convenience. The hotel is clean, room was pretty spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is roomy with a Japanese toilet (will miss the heated seat), shower has plenty of hot water with good pressure. The bed is a bit firm but only if you have an issue with your back. The breakfast was AMAZING. we could not get over the options and the portions. There is laundry on site, a small kitchen in the common area and plenty of drink options in the morning. We will definitely come back and stay at this hotel. Normally we would not want to be in the middle of action but this hotel just has too many positives for us to go somewhere else. HIGHLY SUGGEST.

Nothing. Loved everything

The breakfast are rotated daily (seems like a 5 days cycle as we only encountered 1 repeat during our 6 nights there). In case if you’re a big eater, you can ask for seconds (but sparingly). Our family are good with normal portion so didn’t needed seconds. The kids absolutely loved the square bathtub! After all these years (the last time I was in Taipei was in 2016), I must say they maintained it very well. They installed a Japanese style bidet which is absolutely gorgeous. Cleans well and saves toilet paper.

The walls are not sound proof so bring screaming kids at your own risk (this can probably be mitigated by letting them watch cartoon on Cartoon Network or boomerage).

This was a great hotel! It's in a quiet alley close to the Ximen MRT stop, and convenient for walking around all the stalls and shops that open in the evenings in Ximending. Lots of useful amenities like a selection of delicious fresh cooked breakfast every morning (either Western style or Taiwanese dishes), A/C, WiFi, laundry, and a kitchen area for guests to use. Everyone at the front desk and cafe were helpful and friendly, and our room was comfortable and clean. The rooms have a conservation theme - ours was about a native species of cat in Taiwan. If we're ever back in Taipei we'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed 4nights there. Cozy bed and clean room. Staff was really polite and helpful. Breakfast was great (fresh and delicious).The public kitchen had a coffee maker machine and microwave. Only 400m from MRT Ximen exit6 (this exit had the elevator), beleive me it was only a short walk coz all the way to hotel have many shops and convenience stores. Family mart , starbucks coffee, cosmed store are around the corner. Our room was big enough for family with child. Bathroom had separate wet and dry spaces. Only down side was no bidet shower in the room, but our room had a japanese bathtub. We will stay there when we will visit TAIPEI again

Not all hotels/hostels in Taipei will accept travellers who are in their second week of arrival from overseas, the Self-Health Management week after the 7-day Quarantine, so it’s best to check with the hotel directly, especially if you’ve made the reservation online or via a third party platform. Luckily, Energy Inn at Ximending was happy to receive us during our Self-Health Management period and staff provided stellar service. Friendly, helpful and kind, Vicky and Mr. Huang in particular went the extra mile and took the initiative to provide assistance on different occasions. Some services and amenities such as the cafe are currently closed due to the pandemic, and breakfast is not available at the moment, but as the Inn is in an extremely convenient location where 24-hour convenience stores, myriad shops and eateries abound, and a short walk to Ximen Metro Station, this is hardly a problem. An artsy and cosy space, the inn exudes a youthful vibe and features different hand painted wall murals in various rooms, and climbing the stairwell when in need of exercise only reveals more artistic creativity.

Superb location in Ximen. Very clean and comfortable room. Helpful staff. Hotel breakfast is good. Grab a baked cheese and shallot roll from the vendor on the street corner and the nearby restaurants are cheap and good. I would personally avoid the Mala Hot Pot all-you-can-eat pig-out which we found an expensive, unhealthy and unfriendly experience.

It is just a bit expensive.

The staffs are very nice and willing to help when you have questions. The location is very convenient and close to metro station, market and many nice restaurants/cafe. The room is very clean and the breakfast is good.

Only down side is about the entrance. It’s a bit hard to take the big luggages. They installed equipment to make slope but it was quite steep and hard to roll our big luggage.

Enjoyable and comfortable stay, including for our 4 month old baby. The staff were very warm and friendly. Looked forward to breakfast every morning, which was delicious and varied. Quiet but all in the midst of a fun and thriving area. Less than 10 minute walk to Ximending night market and Ximen station.
