The hostel was really close to Taipei Main Station so it was easy to get to and from the airport, and around the city. There's a pretty big 7/11 underneath which is super handy and quite a few local restaurants and bubble tea places so you're never out of reach of anything. They hand out breakfast vouchers for a few local restaurants, which makes the meal free or super cheap. They have a washer and dryer with free detergent which I used and that was really handy to have in the hostel. The staff was super friendly and attentive whenever I needed anything.
Very minor issues. Some of the toilets smelt really pungent. They have one fresh floor towel in the morning per shower cubical...so if you're the unlucky last few people to have a shower late, then that towel is looking a bit rough. The noise from outside can easily enter the sleeping area but they provide good disposable earplugs for you.

There's so much that I love about this hostel, I don't even know where to begin! Though it's near one of the farther exits of Taipei Main Station (at the underground mall zone), it's centrally and conveniently located: just a few minutes' walk from an exit with an elevator, and also near the airport MRT. The location is great: lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby, including a 7-11 right next to the building. You can even walk to Dadaocheng in 10-15 minutes. The hostel is beautiful; it's a building with a history. I booked a bed in a dormitory room; the beds were properly partitioned — almost like I was staying in a capsule hotel. Each bed also comes with enough sockets for you to charge your devices, and there are partitioned shelves for your belongings, including a locker for valuables. Luckily, I had quiet roommates, so I was able to get a good night's sleep during my stay. Also, the shared facilities are clean and well-maintained; the common area is so cozy and lovely! On days when I was too tired to travel, it was nice just chilling in the common area and taking in the ambiance, or browsing through the infographic panels (about the building's history, as well as helpful info for first-time Taiwan travelers, like must-see attractions and must-eats). For breakfast, you get vouchers that you can use at four nearby partner restaurants. All serve local cuisine (though one also has Western food like sandwiches, in case Taiwanese food isn't to your liking), so breakfast gives you the opportunity to try Taiwan's delicious food! As a fan of Taiwanese food, especially breakfast food like shaobing and danbing, I was very happy to have tried a different partner restaurant for breakfast each day. The staff are very friendly and helpful; I appreciated all their help. I got so much value for money for my stay, and I genuinely enjoyed just spending time at Meander 1948.
Just one small thing: the wifi connection at the common area isn't very good; more often than not, it didn't work for me. Thankfully I had a pocket wifi, but it would be nice if the staff could check on the wifi connection there.

The staff is amazing. Our airline lost our luggage and the staff helped us over several days to get our luggage back. They were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and quite modern. Only the sink outside of the bathroom needed some getting used to, but it was okay. The location is great, the main station and many shops are close by and it is very easy to get to all the attractions. Also, the hotel is easy to find. We had a room with privat bathroom on the top floor and a balcony with a nice view. Also, you can get free drinking water in the common area, which was great as we hadn't to search for a store every evening to get water. We really liked our stay here!
The price for the room was quite high. Also we booked with breakfast included but you get a coupon with 80 NTD per person, which you can spend in a restaurant nearby. We went to a really good one, "my warm day" and the food was delicious, but we had to top up for our breakfast, because the 80 NTD weren't enough. I think for the room price, a whole breakfast should be included. But i still can recomend the hotel if you can afford it. We liked it there.

The location is extremely convenient, the facilities are modern, well-designed and well-maintained. Once I got free earplugs from the reception I slept really well in my comfy box. The air conditioning level in the dorm was perfect for a good night's sleep. Every guest has a big locker and storage area too. The bathrooms were modern, and the showers worked well. The provided toiletries were good quality. You can rent a big towel for 50 Taiwan Dollars. The Seven-Eleven on the ground floor (open 24/7) was a life-saver. The common room with balcony and loft space is pleasant and I liked having access to a laundry room. The staff, especially manager Li Ga, were all lovely. And I spent 6 nights there for less than 200 euros!
These are not so much negatives as things to be aware of. Like every hostel, the experience depends on the other guests. Sometimes the bathrooms smelled or there was water everywhere but I think they were cleaned regularly so what can you do? They were cleaned regularly but it is what it is. Other guests were mostly quiet with a few exceptions. The cafe downstairs only opens at 9:30 am so I ended up getting my coffee from Seven-Eleven. The partner breakfast places are nice and very typical (you have to try the soy milk place!) but they're not next to the hostel so sometimes I went elsewhere to save time as I had a packed schedule.

Hotel very clean, staff work well to keep it that way and also the other guests who I shared the facilities with during my stay were respectful. AC was good however this is able to be controlled by the people in dorm. Which is bad, some people may turn it off or up, I personally like it cold but the hostel should set it at a middle ground maybe 20c?? Most time it was set to 22-24 which was bearable. I slept well.
Suspicious stains down the side of the bed curtains but whatever, didn't care just a note. My biggest issue with the hostel was that they have all the bags and storage lockers in the dorms right next to the beds. It makes no sense, all this causes people including myself potentially waking others or stopping them from sleeping. What if you need to find something, organise or rummage through things . It makes noise. I think the lockers should be in a separate location, same as the bathrooms. The only other thing I could think of is that I'm 179cm tall and it was too long for the bed. Not an issue if you can bend your legs slightly or sleep diagonally. Didn't bother me as I expected this from reading other reviews.

really convenient location. very close to the airport express. you can also pretty much walk to most places like Di Hua street, Zhong Shan and Ning Xia market. our room for 3 travelers with en suite bathroom was very comfortable. surprisingly quiet despite being next to a road. the doughnut and scallion pancakes right opposite the hostel were really yummy - highly recommend. there is a 7-11 next door which is super convenient. the staff were very nice and friendly.
would love to have a kettle in the room itself but they have a common area in the 4th floor if you need hot water so that's OK. the shower took some time to warm up but it wasn't a problem.

Great: Design. Space. Price. Location. Amenities. Probably the best hostel to stay in Taipei. Very comfortable rooms and cleanliness is top notch. I really appreciate the breakfast coupons b'cos the places were yummy! Hostel staff are helpful and kind. Location is SO NEAR Taipei main station. Restaurant beneath hostel has THE BEST risotto I've had in a while, with very decent wine & beers. Also, the Japanese restaurant Sando (directly) opposite the hostel is REALLY GOOD.
I regret not picking a bigger room with windows as i spent so much time in my room because it was so comfortable!

The hostel is close to the central station. We had a double room with a bathroom and a small balcony. The common areas were very comfortable, a fully equipped kitchen and a large terrace. Our flight was arriving at night and the hostel had promised the day before to send us a code to enter. But they didn't send us anything. I had to call the hostel during a layover in Hong Kong and after a long call they sent us directions on how to get into the hostel and the room. Otherwise, the hostel has a good location and the room was big. The reservation was with breakfast. But there is none. They give vouchers that are not even enough to buy coffee.

The location is closer to HSR and Train to airport hence its convenient. The rooms is a bit tight and you can really hear the noises easily. A common downside in every hostel. The common area is small, every night its packed, I can't seem to get a spot so that I can work, I ended up working at fire exit stairs. Also the wifi is weak, I can't connect esp on the common area which on the 4F by the way. The staffs however are very nice, friendly and accommodating. They greet you every time you come and go. The place overall is pretty decent to stay but not exactly the most comfortable.
Although its near to Taipei Main Station building, its still a bit of a walk from the hostel to the nearest MTR. You have do go down to underground mall. It looks near at the map but the truth its a bit of a walk. They will instruct you to use the Y13 exit to underground but at that time the escalator was broken, you have to use the Y8 exit instead going down from the train station to the underground mall.

From the shower to the common room, I am amazed at how constructive the space is. The storage across the bed was sufficient. They even have a board placed up in the common area on the topics of places to explore and food so it can technically be your checklist as a first time solo traveller.
1. People lugging their luggages anytime of the day in and out can cause some sleep disturbances. Although the room is quiet enough. 2. Would appreciate it there is any sort of indication for us to get our bed sheet or towel changed. House keeping seem hard to catch.
