Mnarani Beach Cottages

The hotel is located in a beautiful landscaped area. The staff is very kind and helpful. The pool is clean and has a deep water section. Its temperature is 28°C. There is a beach service, with many sunbeds and shaded areas. The kitchen is good, the bar selection is adequate. The rooms are spacious and have a large balcony and terrace. The bathroom is comfortable and the shower cabin is spacious. There are many small vendors, other restaurants, and a turtle reserve in the vicinity of the hotel. The central market area is about a 10-minute walk away.

We only stayed for 4 nights as it was a very last minute booking. We arrived at 4am in the morning for checkin and I did let them know before hand and were okay with it however when we got to the desk all the lights were off and no one was there! I messaged them and they responded instantly and let the security guard at the gate know about our check in. He passed us our keys and escorted us to the room. The room was exactly what you needed. Comfortable bed, clean floors and a storage space. I was very happy on the ground floor but with the ocean view. You could go down the stairs and walk alongside the beach all the way round to Nungwi beach. Where the property is its very quiet and the beach is very isolated so it is lovely as you have this gorgeous view to yourself. Endless skies and ocean. That was by far my favourite bit! There was lots of sunbeds and hammocks and me being a sun fanatic we had sun on the deck right in front of us from around 8am - 2-5pm

The showers could have been a little cleaner. They were what was needed of course but they could be a little cleaner considering value for money. Also I would expand your fruit selection if you could! The fruit is what I would be so excited for if I paid for breakfast included and as a vegan I would love a more varied selection of fruit. The only reason I didn't rate the staff that great either is because we rushed out quite a bit when checking out and I left a few things and when emailing them they mentioned nothing had been found in the room...

Incredible location, views, massage facilities, room...

Cost was greater I think for drinks etc. Food was just ok at restaurant too for price.

It is a really nice place. Calm, on the brink of the main beach area. Located on the beachfront with stunning views. Room that we’ve stayed in was good. It was spacious and it had a great balcony with partial sea view. Breakfast was really good, self service. Also, we were eating dinner in the restaurant and the dishes there were all great! Staff is super nice. Pool is clean and maintained regularly. It is really a calm and relaxing place to be!

Road leading to the resort is in a disastrous state, but that is not their fault. Just to keep in mind when planning a trip in our out.

- Stuff helpful and friendly. - The hotel is nice. - Hotel's pictures are similar to what we saw online.

- Wifi so slow. - Far a little from nungwi beach. - They don't offer a bottle of water every day, they only offered the 1st day and if you want to buy, you pay 2$, while outside is hald dollar. (I stayed in other hotels and they always provide 1 bottle of water per day.

If I can put more than 10 / 10 I will do it , this is a piece of heaven ! Calm , clean and charmante ! The room / suite is super clean with an AC and ventilation, the restaurant is one of the best I think in east Africa , especially the sea food field , they are special ! It s not easy to find a unique restaurant to make both kids and parents satisfied ! Here is not the case , all the family is super excited by the quality of the food , the location is in the centre of all attractions departures , by walking…last not least , Mnarani beach cottages is the place where you can get in touch with the Indian Ocean .

Nothing to mention

I love the fact that soon after booking, the hotel stayed in touch with me to ensure a smooth transfer from the airport. Upon arrival, the hotel sourced transport was already waiting for me. Everyone is as cautious and polite. The management team ensured they they checked on guests every now and again to ensure that they are having a nice stay. The biggest pro is when the hotel learnt that am moving to an adjacent hotel for more nights, they didn’t make an issue of this. They clearly understood that I was out to have a good time and they wanted me to experience other accommodations.

I will list them for ease: -The road leading to all those beautiful hotels is horrendous. If you suffer from bad back and other bones related ailments, you will need to walk there. The potholes are a serious issue. Am told that all the hotels that use the road are working out a plan to address this issue. -Lights in communal areas and the beautiful pool are turned off at night. -The area between the massage parlour and the bar is an eyesore. It’s used as storage for boats, logs and a few other items. These obstruct the rather beautiful view of the ocean from the rooms. -Food was hit and miss, this seems to be the case across the whole island with the exception of a few places I won’t bake in this review for purposes of fairness and neutrality.

My husband and me are highly appreciated for the hotel hospitality and all staff kindness. All was great: various options for breakfast, clean in the room (hotel staff cleaned the room every day). The hotel is calm and we also were impressed with the view from the balcon. Additional advantage is a close location to the Zoo and great cafes.

Very high prices in the hotel cafe for food and drinks, so we always went to the nearest cafes and shops. The location of the hotel doesn't allow to sween in the ocean.

1. Breakfast as well as food menu very stereo type 2. Bedroom very small with little to no storage 3. Staying there for 9 days and meals were expensive and lacked variation for example should have lighter snacks like toasted sandwiches etc 4. Pricing of excursion and bar drinks over priced

It is a peaceful and relaxing place aside from the hustle and bustle. Located at the first line, it also has a beautiful garden, a swimming pool, restaurant and a beach front bar. We loved our spacious veranda and the stunning ocean views from it, as well as the relaxing atmosphere of the property. The staff is friendly and helpful. The owner personally accomodated us, as we arrived late at night. For us this was the perfect place for our stay.
