Rooms were really perfect. Good size, AC and Fan wasnt loud at all and bed was really comfortable Breakwast was very tasty and they always had different choices sometimes buffet and other days from the menu. Aluna also has a good restaurant direclty at the beach which is perfect for watching the sunset and the food was also very good.

The Beach side near Aluna isnt so beautiful, we saw some plastic at the beach which was really sad. If you walk further to the other side there are some better places to swim at the beach.

Staying at Aluna Nungwi was the best start to our honeymoon we could have possibly hoped for. We loved the two different pools, the pool side and beach side restaurant and the excellently organised excursions. The rooms are so comfortable and clean. As vegans we were worried about what food would be available to us but Aluna could not have been more accodomating, providing serveal different options for lunch and dinner and a whole vegan breakfast menu, all of which have been outstanding! All of the bar, restaurant and reception staff have been so kind, happy and caring, especially Neema, Fatma, Luka and Joy. Chimsi the manager of the awesome Aluna beach bar, brings fun loving energy to the place and was the life and soul of the fantastic Full Moon Party. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends looking to holiday in Zanzibar!

I can't think of anything at all that we didn't like or that could be improved.

We really enjoyed our stay here, we had the jacuzzi hot tub room for 3 nights and it was brilliant. The hotel paths and around the pools is beautiful with all plants and trees. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, including drinking water, a kettle and tea, shampoo and conditioner, beach towels, air con, mosquito net etc. The hot tub was so special and we are really pleased we upgraded to this for our honeymoon, it made it extra special. We enjoyed the breakfast and had a nice dinner at the beach one evening - a lot of the menu is fish/seafood. We also ate at a restaurant nearby which we enjoyed plus others in Nungwi. The reception staff were friendly and helped us book a great taxi for a really reasonable price to the airport and also organised the buggy excursion which was super. The tuktuk driver is a legend, he took us back and forth to nungwi lots of times for $3 each day, this service was fantastic and meant we really enjoyed our stay as we had the best of both worlds popping into town whenever we wanted just by messaging him on WhatsApp. On our final morning we walked from Aluna beach into Nungwi at low tide which was nice to do before it got too hot and we left our bags at the hotel which was super handy.

Lovely hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of Nungwi. The room was spacious with a lovely jacuzzi that we enjoyed. The pools were nice, especially the salt water one. There was a lot of plants around that made a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was great with a lot of variety which included homemade sourdough bread, pastes, eggs and fresh juices as well as other choices. The hotel restaurant by the beach is also very good with sunbeds around to hang out during the day. The food was very tasty for a good price. They evern organised music and shows in the evenings. We had a great massage there too.

The only comment we have is that some parts of the room and the room doors felt a bit old and in need of some maintenance. It was difficult to slide the door to open and close.

The property is beautiful, the massage was brilliant and the staff are very helpful. The food was expensive but nice and the breakfast was exceptional. Room was clean and it was a really comfortable stay. Maintanence issues were fixed straight away.

The WiFi here is very poor. Good WiFi throughout the property is important for a hotel. We also had an issue with a taxi that we ordered through Aluna nungwi. The driver took us the the wrong location and then Aluna called us and asked for further payment to take us to the right location. Fortunately they understood and did not charge us extra.

This hotel felt like home. very clean hotel , value for money. the service was magnificent , the team makes you feel like home and go above and beyond to make you comfortable. I mean … they even installed a douche shower as one of the rooms didn’t have one and it would make it easier for our stay. one of the days we had to leave earlier than breakfast time for activities and the team kindly prepared our breakfast before everyone else’s . special thanks to the girls , Eva , joy and Marian. With the smile on their face they made us feel more comfortable than ever. thank you to Mody for trying to help us out with a private issue that occurred in Zanzibar .

to be honest nothing

We throughly enjoyed our 3 night stay here. From the minute you enter the bamboo gates it feels so tropical, calm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and all face towards the pool area(s) which again is very tropical with so many lush plants. You also eat breakfast next to the pool which is lovely and the breakfasts are amazing! Great choices with many locally grown ingredients. This properly is well located, close to the beach and to its own restaurant on the beach. They have evening entertainment here which is fun - I highly recommend the party with traditional drumming and dancing etc. This property isn’t quite in the thick of Nungwi, but you can very easily walk about 20 minutes down the beach to reach the thriving areas with busier beaches and more restaurants etc. We’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others!

The hotel was in a lovely quiet location close to the beach in Nungwi. The room had everything we needed, the staff were all exceptional and kept on top of everything. The meals were out of this world, never tasted such delicious food. The pools were always kept clean and we couldn’t fault our stay. Glad we chose to stay here rather than one of the larger hotels as everyone was so friendly and helpful.

We loved our stay here, although not on the beach the gardens were beautiful and the rooms faced the small pools so it felt v peaceful and tropical. The room was modern and v comfortable. Ours had an outside shower and small patio out the back which we didn't realise but was a nice addition. Excellent hot water and WiFi. The trips we booked through the hotel were good value and the staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Walking distance to sea turtle rescue centres and a short taxi to the centre of town. The breakfast was one of the best we had, with a great choice and high standard. For the price this hotel was excellent.

Very cute location on the quieter side of Nungwi. The place was very rural and beautiful. Pools were excellent. A perfect place to get some peace and quiet.

The ONLY thing that let me down at the last minute was them trying to charge me $20 for calling a taxi. They wouldn’t have told me unless I asked too. Bit annoying and the staff member just made us feel bad for the driver which we could have booked and paid ourselves anyway.
